A Hellfish flys again! ( a Simpsons X DVV CK2 Quest)

By the way anyone else curious if the Greens moving to Springfield will be mentioned in the next rumor mill results or not, or is it just me?
I doubt they'll be mentioned in the rival reports, impossible to say whether they'll be mentioned otherwise until it happens. I do feel like the potato Mona gave Abe is a "wink-and-a-nudge" reference to them. I imagine we'll get our first hard confirmation that they're here if/when we take an action to hire from outside of the Simpsons.

Hehe figured it wouldn't make canon but really glad you enjoyed it that much. 😊

Hmm as for reward well only one question comes to mind however if can't answer it than I'd probably take the ±10 to Krusty personal action.

And that question is if theres any occult specialized hero units in or near Springfield that we can recruit?

As still need to cover that weak pint of ours. Though do admit got idea for a Lena omake still trying to get handle on.

But yeah only question can thin of , if can't answer than just givee the plus 10 to Krusty personal action to help with search for Sophie.

Also no worries I don't think you were rude I gotcha no problem. Though do apologize if question is skirting on being too spoiler or game breaking like said only question could think of.

Thank you. This question is not too spoilery, dont worry about it.

Thought most likely I will have to then assign you the bonus to a Krusty personal action, cause to give you a bit of a heads up, now that you guys unlocked Occult actions, there's one to recruit Occult oriented Hero Units that you can take next turn. And in our opinion, the question wouldnt be worth it to tell you that when you can recruit some now.

Hope you are okey with that. Thought if you want to asks another question instead I can give you another 4 hours before locking in your choice

No worries 😊 I'm actually good with that. I'll take the plus ten to Krusty personal action and hopefully give him leg up on finding Sophie after we recruit him.

Also thats great news on potential occult hero recruit ~

So with that revelation about getting the chance to recruit an occult hero next turn, I think there's no question that we should take that action next turn. Wilhelm is good and all, but we definitely need a dedicated Occult hero on our payroll.

It will suck to delay any actions to resolve the zombie issue, but a strong Occult hero will make doing so a fair bit easier, not to mention any future actions

That action along with recruiting house staff and buying itchy and scratchy are top picks for me for next turns plan

Get some magic on our side, alomg with a retired spy granny and her kick butt granddaughter, along with resource and potential toon recruit.

Plus on last with my omake rewards got plus 20 to buying itchy and scratchy ~

Funnily enough, if we do recruit an Occult hero next turn we'll actually have enough hero units to put one on each category of nat action and still have at least one left over. If personal actions go well next turn we might actually be able to give the adventure a try and still have heroes available for most actions

So besides the occult hero, any other people we should get, cause I'm not sure how long Snake is willing to wait for a response, as for Willie he probably has his old job back once the school was repaired.

To be honest with Apu now hired I'd say that we've picked up all the heroes from that recruitment action that I really wanted. Willie might be good to get depending on what the new stewardship actions are like, and I suppose another Intrigue hero like Snake wouldn't be too bad, but I don't really consider either of them to be must haves like Frink or Tony were.

Of course, this would be a moot point if they aren't available next turn. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Well Gloria and Beakly on the house staff considering my own omake.

While on homefront leaning to Snake and Krusty oh and of course Simpson. But on those we can recruit right from Springfield getting Snake would be good choice.

Hmm though if Willie gives us additional source of information do to his spying than he could be useful on getting a leg up on burns and sideshow bob.

And on Bob I remind everyone we can't solely focus on burns to point Bob blindsides us and harms family.

While this is true, having only one Intrigue action per turn really handicaps our ability to keep an eye on both at the same time. I'm just hoping that we can keep them at arm's length for a bit longer until we can take that action that was mentioned where we can set up patrols and surveillance around Springfield, which I imagine will give us and our family a little advance warning in case either of them makes their move.

A Shadows Shame & Sorrow (canon!)
Hiya everybody! :) I'm here again with another omake~ Some of you might have caught the mention of me thinking of and working on a omake for a certain Ducktales character, well here it is as promised~ I hope you all enjoy!

A Shadows Shame & Sorrow

It was a warm morning in the city of Springfield and right now Chief Wiggum along with officers Lou and Eddie were performing one of the the biggest stake out of their career, "Alright boys todays the day we catch that donut thief." Wiggum said in a low voice currently "cleverly" disguised in a trenchcoat, hat, and glasses along with his men with their uniforms hidden underneath while sitting inside one of their favorite donut shops.

Which recently had been hit by some weird occurrences terrifying the poor owner, said occurrences also lead to missing donuts which Chief Wiggum just couldn't have! Plus call him crazy but maybe the donut shop thief was connected to the reports of stolen food that the station had been getting from the super markets and such too....though than again probably just coincidence.

He thought shaking off that thought as he tried not to attract any attention by bringing up and reading the newspaper specifically the funny pages, ah Garfield that cat never failed to make him laugh~

He thought with a smirk that fell in the next instant when he got a look at the clock on the wall realizing the time, "Alright boys.."

He said in a low voice, "According to the cook it's almost the usual time our little thief strikes and things get weird around the shop." As Lou and Eddie shot him their own nods while each of them recalling that their perp usually strike around the same time..."So let's make this a breakfast they pay for."

Wiggum said in a low serious voice thankful they had already made sure the store would empy and cleared out for this little sting, "No one pilfers donuts in my city boys." He said though in the next instant all of three of them heard a shout, "GAH NOT AGAIN!" Coming from the kitchen wasting no time they threw off their disguises and rushed toward the kitchen kicking down the door, "FREEZE DIRT BAG!"

Wiggum yelled pointing his gun alongside Lou and Eddie though all three froze when they saw multiple kitchen appliances and utensils floating and zooming around mid air with a magical glow surrounding them while the shops current chef Gil Gunderson was ducking down at the floor, "Please help!"

Gil yelled once he saw the cops, "My boss already said if I lose anymore donuts old Gils gonna be fired!" He exclaimed with despairing moan, "Great googly moogly!" Wiggum yelled out, "We've got us a ghost thief!" He exclaimed in shock with Lou chiming in with a shrug, "Eh suppose we shouldn't be to surprised Chief."

The officer remarked with a thoughtful frown, "After all old Abe Simpson got a Zombie on his payroll now." He reminded Eddie and the Chief, "So a ghost criminal ain't that much of a stretch." He said while Wiggum gave his head shake, "Well dead or alive no one gets away with stealing my donuts!"

He yelled pointing his gun at all the floating appliances, "Lets send Casper the Donut Pilfer back to the after life boys!" He called out before all three officers open fire.

PEW!
PEW!
PEW!
PEW!

Only for bullets to zoom past all the appliances and hit the walls causing them to freeze mid air before swarming off straight toward the officers, "DUCK!" Eddie yelled out with him and Lou tackling Chief Wiggum to the ground narrowingly dodging the floating objects which crashed into the wall before falling to the ground with the glow surrounding them disappearing with the same happening to the few utensils hovering over Gil causing them to drop on his head with a slight pained whine, "Ah..well." Wiggum gave a blink when he saw all this, "Guess we showed him~"

He said with a smirk as Lou and Eddie helped him up, "That's what you get for trying to steal donuts when Chief Clancy Wiggum is on the case you stupid spooky ghost~" He yelled up into the air shaking his fist before giving a laugh, "Hehe...wait.." Suddenly his eyes widen in realization, "THE DONUTS!"

He quickly rushed out the kitchen door followed by Eddie, Lou, and Gil with the officers gasping in shock when they saw a horrifying sight while Gil...Gil just let out a despairing moan, "Ah man old Gils going to lose another job!" He whined as all four man saw the display case which had just minutes ago held assortment of fresh delicious donuts had been cleared out causing Wiggum eyes to narrow in anger before he bellowed out, "CURE YOU YOU GHOSTLY DONUT THIEF CURSE YOU!"

He screamed up into the air not noticing a small figure that could be seen through one of the shops windows carrying a bag over their shoulder rushing away from the store.

(Later in the Springfield Woods)

That same figure could be seen sitting next to what appeared to be a make shift camp site enjoying their donut feast, "Hmm a little sweat but good way to start the day."

They said stepping out from the shadows cast by a tree revealing themselves to be a young Duck girl who possessed the appearance of a slim teenage duck with white hair with the end being pink, and was wearing a teal collared shirt with a black long-sleeved shirt that has gray stripes over it, and light green laced shoes with the tip being white. "Certainly beats eating out of the Garbage at least." Lena said to herself with a sardonic smirk as she finished off the donut in her hand before swallowing and giving a sigh, "What are you doing with your life Lena?"

She asked yourself with a frown, "You're finally free and your using your freedom to steal donuts." She said shaking her head with a frown, "I can just hear Aunt Magica mocking me and calling me a disappointment already." She said before adding with a bitter snort, "Though that's probably a reason in itself to keep doing this."

She said taking a seat on a log as she chuckle, "That and the fact the police chief and his two lackey's are hilarious to mess with~" She said giving a giggle, "ah man if only Webby had seen their faces~" She let out in a slight bit of laughter before freezing as her own words caught up with her, "Webby..."

She said sighing as her earlier amusement faded replaced by the feelings she had been dealing with and doing her best to ignore the past few months shame and regret.

As she found herself remembering how she found herself to this point where she finally had the freedom she had desired for years...but it kept tasting like ashes in her mouth. Because whenever she tried to enjoy her new found freedom or what to do with it her mind always kept going back to the girl that poured her heart out to her, gave her trust, and was the first closest thing she ever had to a friend and vice versa.

Webbigail "Webby" Vanderquack or "pink" as she sometimes referred to her. Granddaughter of Betina Beakley one time housekeeper to the former richest duck in the world now likely poorest duck in the world Scrooge McDuck. Who she used as a pawn to get her freedom and her creator "Aunt" Magica vengeance in her scheme to steal Scrooge number 1 dime and regain her body.

A plot that honestly turned out to be easier than expected. One night day she was trying to think of a way to get to Scrooge and more importantly the dime, the next she was bumping into and meeting Webby for the first time. Who it had turned out feeling bold one day had secretly snuck out of the mansion she had grown up in to go out into the wider duckburg which lead to Lena not only crossing paths with her.

But soon gaining her trust in a little misadventure against the Beagle Boys and their mother. A task that was almost as easy as it was sad since it quickly became clear to her that Webby was desperate for friendship with her cloesest companion growing up being only her grandmother while growing up in Scrooge mansion. While the old miser seemed to keep himself at bit of a distance toward the girl despite her vast (And frankly sometimes creepy) admiration (Or obsession) with the old coot, and the fact she grew up in his house.

This plus the fact that Scrooge was distracted with his own business and troubles that ultimately ended in the lost of his fortune made Lena mission from Magica all the easier. The only real obstacle in her path was Webby's grandmother but ultimately even she folded when seeing how attached Webby had grown to her, and how desperate she was for a actual friend.

A fact and realization that ultimately acted like a knife twist to the heart. Frankly the only silver lining to her "betrayal" was the fact Webby wasn't around when she finally made her move. No the opportunity to finally take the dime arrived after Scrooge lost everything and was alone and vulnerable at that dump of a shack (A place even worst than her current hopefully temporary living quarters)

And at that she thought back to the day she gained her freedom and the day Magica De Spell was once again returned to her former glory.

It was a chilly cloudy night and one Scrooge McDuck was trying to warm himself by the fire before pausing as he heard a twig snap, "Who's there!" He snapped guardingly before blinking as he saw the form exit the bushes, "It's just me old man." Lena said as she revealed herself before giving wince at the sight of him and his current living conditions, "Sheesh no wonder Webby be worried about you."

She said a tad bluntly causing Scrooge to scowl slightly before sighing, "You're Lena...right?" He asked a tad unsure, "Little Webbigails friend right?" With Lena giving a nod while hiding the wince at the word friend because odds are if tonight went off successfully Webby wouldn't be calling her a friend for much longer, "That's me.."

She remarked taking a seat on the rock next to Scrooge, "Hope you don't mind me dropping in." She said speaking up in a cool tone, "But with all the rumors going on and how Webby's barely been holding it together thanks to tea time." She glanced over at Scrooge. "I figured someone should check in and make sure you haven't kicked the bucket."

She told Scrooge while unnoticed to the old duck Lena shadow grew behind him twisting into a different shape with evil red eyes that glared at Scrooges back as he simply huffed, "I might be dirt door but that doesn't mean i'm going to be worm food anytime soon lassy." He remarked ideally before giving a low sigh, "And honestly don't know why your even wasting your time checking up on me."

He told the girl, "I'm just a old failure." He said with a bitter frown, "I lost my fortune to that fool Glomgold of all people!" He exclaimed in disbelieving rage, "I mean if it was someone like Xanatos i'd still be furious but at least I could wrap my mind around it....but Glomgold!"

Scrooge said going off on a self hating rant for a bit before bitterly scowling at the ground, "I built my fortune fair and square, and I lost it to perhaps the biggest idiotic conman i've ever met in my life." He muttered to the girl before pausing, "Well one of them at least." He said giving a low sardonic chuckle as quite a few faces popped into his mind that could compete for title.

"Hey you might have lost all your wealth but at least you got your number 1 dime right?" Lena asked appearing to be disinterested causing Scrooge to blink and give her a curious look, "I mean.." Lena gave a shrug, "The way Webby went on about it that dimes probably your most precious possession I don't see you including it in that little bet you lost with Glomgold." She remarked ideally with Scrooge, "Well yes I suppose there's that one small silver lining."

He said bringing out the dime in question noticing the dark shadow and Lena eyes both home in on it with keen desire.

After that...Lena back in the present shook her head closing her eyes remembering how she tackled Scrooge and barely just got a hold of the dime long enough for Magica to do her part with her using her own bit of magic to set her free from the dime. And when she had Scrooge helpless before her she honestly thought that was it for the old man...but

"You have no idea how long i've dreamed to see you like this Scroogey~" Magica De Spell said with a mocking maliciously smile as she looked down at Scrooge restrained by rope made of magical energy with her holding up his number 1 dime in his hands, "Broken, defeated, your spirits absolutely at your lowest~"

She said with a wicked laugh as she pocketed the dime, "The only thing i've almost desired more than your demise was your suffering~" She told him bringing her staff up to his neck while Lena was watching from the sideline, "It would be so easy to end you right here and now.."

Magica told Scrooge in a low tone as the old duck glowered up at her but wasn't able to hide the flash of fear in his eyes, "But unfortunately for you.." Magica than step back removing her staff from Scrooge neck as the magic tying him disappeared, "i don't intend to let you off easy~" Magica said as Scrooge gave a shocked blink before looking up at Magica, "After all.."

She gestured toward their surroundings, "What would be a greater revenge than letting you spend the rest of your miserable life facing the reality that you're.." She flashed a evil smile with her next words cutting deep ,"A miserable failure who never deserved his fortune or his family~"

The witch said turning away from Scrooge, "Honestly it's no wonder your niece perished and your nephew doesn't want anything to do with you." With Scrooge freezing at those last words, "And really.." She looked over her shoulder seeing Scrooge a look of absolute loathing, "I think we both know deep down this is the least you've deserved for everything you've done." She coldly told her once mighty foe who just couldn't bring himself to retort or attempt to fight Magica as she focused her eyes on Lena, "Now than.."

She walked up to Lena who gave a gulp and as Magica reached down she flinched expecting the worst only to feel Magica actually gently rub her cheek, "Well done Lena.." Lena opened her eyes and actually saw Magica looking down at her with a look of pride and if she didn't know better love...or at least fondness.

Something at the first few years of her existence she would have given anything to see from her "aunt" but now....now it just left her with a bittersweet taste in her mouth and her emotions in such a jumble she didn't know what to feel, "you've accomplished your mission and than some my dear~"

Magica said giving a laugh, "Thanks to you i've gotten to see Scrooge at his lowest and happily kick him while he's down~" She added with a cackle before sending Lena a smirk, "I think you've earned your freedom." She said as her staff glow with the same purple glow en composing their forms and shadow link forming between the two that was severed in the new few moments, "Lena De Spell a shadow no longer, now a true De Spell by right and conquest~"

Magica said with a tinge of pride in her tone as she walked passed Lena, "You're free Lena.." She told her sending one last smirk at the girl, "And I'd advise you not to waste my generosity~" She told the girl before adding with a edge of threatening warning, "Or else~" Before ultimately disappearing with a evil cackle leaving Lena alone with Scrooge with the former shadow of Magica De Spell giving the broken old man one last glance before running off

Where even she didn't know just as long as it was a far away from Magica and Webby as possible.

Back in the present Lena shook herself out of her memories with a frown. Recalling easily how after that she basically traveled whether by foot or by hitch hiker across the country trying to enjoy her freedom or trying to figure out what to do with it till eventually coming to this town.

A town she had admittedly been staying longer than usual at but something about this place appealed to her, "It certainly doesn't hurt Aunt Magica probably wouldn't expect to find me in a place like this." Lena remarked with a frown because Magica last words had been haunting her nightmares causing her greatest fear to become Magica changing her mind and showing up out of nowhere to reduce her to nothing but a shadow.

Right up there with meeting and facing Webby again after what she did, "But if I stay here chances are either aren't going to happen anytime soon." Lena said with a hopeful smile as she stood up, "Besides.." She remarked to herself with a shrug as she headed over to her supplies, "I've got to settle down eventually why not at a place I actually like that no one actually looking for me will find me at." She remarked with a slight smirk before giving a sigh, "Now I only need to figure out what I want to do with my life."

She said as she started to shift through her stuff while deciding on her next course of attempting to make a life for herself in the City of Springfield. While also telling herself if she did this and played her cards right she wouldn't have to see Aunt Magica or the friend she betrayed ever again....right?

Hmm. So if this is taken at face value, Scrooge might very well still be alive in this continuity, and Lena's a potential free agent.

Then again, this becomes noncanon if the QM doesn't want to confirm that Scrooge survived whatever event overthrew his fortunes.

Cosa Nostra: Springfield Style (canon!)
Cosa Nostra: Springfield Style

One morning, not too long after meeting with one Ned Flanders in the heart of Springfield's own power plant, Marion Anthony D'amico put on one of his best suits and got in the car that would take him back to the building. He gave the man behind the wheel the briefest of nods as he sat down; the man had been his personal driver for years now, and had remained even as his little family had started to splinter. His father (rest his soul), had been very clear to a much younger (and thinner) Tony about the importance of repaying loyalty, and once his fortunes were fully turned again he would make sure to reward the man and his family for it.

The ride was not a short one, and it gave Tony the chance to collect his thoughts as he waited to arrive at his destination. With all the chaos of late he had not had much chance to do so, and was grateful for it. The disappearance of Don DiMaggio, his top men leaving for greener pastures, that fucking Dome…It had not been a good year for business. Legitimate or otherwise. But now, things were starting to look up; he'd had his back against the wall and managed to get out without a pair of cement shoes or a shallow grave. Not bad for a man who was starting to feel his years.

Tony's thoughts would be interrupted by his car coming to a stop, and he watched as his driver stepped out and opened the door for him. "I shouldn't be more than an hour," he told the driver as he stepped out, "Make sure you're here when I'm finished with my little…chat." The words had an undercurrent of threat, as most things said by a man of Tony's stature and history did, but the driver simply nodded and got back in the car to wait.

On entering the building Tony was quickly escorted up to the office of Abe Simpson, where the man was waiting for him with a pensive expression on his face. "I'm not going to beat around the bush," Abe began as he fiddled with the Newton's cradle on his desk, "After careful consideration we've decided to hire you on to the staff here at Springfield Power."

Despite himself Tony relaxed a fraction of a hair, though no one who didn't know him extremely well would have been able to notice. His lips formed a small smile that didn't quite meet his eyes. "I'm glad that we were able to come to an arrangement," the mafioso began, reaching out to shake the elder man's hand, "And as I told your subordinate before, I am at your disposal…And if you give me a helping hand with some of my own ventures, well I certainly wouldn't say no."

The expression on Abe's face as they shook hands was one that Tony was quite familiar with, one that said he wasn't quite sure if this particular business partnership was a metaphorical or literal deal with the devil. "Yeah, well, I get the distinct feeling that some parts of this job are going to require a bit of…Finesse if I want to keep my head above the water. Not to mention keep ahead of whatever that jackass Burns is planning."

At the mention of the former inhabitant of this office, Tony gave a commiserating nod. "Ah yes, rest assured that I will be keeping an ear to the ground for any sign of his activities. And perhaps once my enterprise is back on its feet, a more active hand will be called for."

"Appreciated," Abe replied, idly leaning on his cane as he started making his way over to the room's expansive window, peering out of it for a moment. "There is one thing that I'd like you to keep in mind though."

Tony raised an eyebrow, curious what the old man before him had to say. "By all means…Boss. I am all ears." He leaned forward over the desk, making it clear that Abe had his undivided attention.

Abe gestured towards the window with his free hand, out to the city that the two of them called home. "If there's one thing that's been made clear these past months, it's that Springfield can't rely on anyone else to fight our battles for us, not if that damn Dome was any sign. We need to protect our own, because no one else is going to. Understand me?" Here he looked back at Tony, a surprisingly inscrutable expression on his wrinkled face.

Tony found himself nodding, getting Abe's point. "Crystal clear," the mafioso agreed, "Rest assured that my people will take the safety of our fair city very seriously." He could certainly see where the older man was coming from, and he absolutely agreed with the underlying point. It was the basis of that most basic of service that organizations like his provided, the protection racket. Sometimes (often) their business could be quite dirty, but any member of their kind of family from the lowest loan shark all the way up to the made men understood the importance of community. In a way it was even a relief that Simpson wasn't about to fall down whatever rabbit holes Burns had that made him the way he was.

Abe gave Tony a nod, then turned away from the window and opened a drawer in his desk. "While I have you here, I actually do have something that I'd like you to look at when you have the time. Just a few things I found while poking around in Burns' things…"

Flying Hellfish 2: Nuclear Boogaloo (unfortunately not canon)
Flying Hellfish 2: Nuclear Boogaloo

The moment the bell rang at Springfield Elementary Hunter Deamonne was off like a shot. Even some of the school's population of eternal slackers were impressed with the way he darted through the halls, for all that they scorned the way he was always eager to please during the school day.

The young witch moved through the growing crowds of students with a determined expression on his face, quickly reaching his locker, stuffing his few school supplies into his pack, and immediately continuing out a side door that didn't see much traffic. From there it was just a matter of hopping on his staff and flying over to the plant, where the team that he and Mr Simpson had painstakingly assembled would be waiting. It had taken no small amount of convincing, bribing, and deal-making to get them all on board, but now he would have the chance to really lead, and for a far better cause than the Emperor's Coven had ever been.

It was a shame that Luz and Amity hadn't been able to join him, but they had their own ways of fighting Belos, and he wasn't about to begrudge them that.

He considered it even more of a shame that the Captain hadn't been able to join him, but he was keeping that little thought locked up tight, thank you very much!

Mere moments after that thought pushed itself front and center in his mind he began to descend, finding that he was the second to arrive, and he looked over at the newest recruit to what Mr Simpson had taken to calling the Flying Hellfish Junior Project.

Warren Peace (AKA Firecracker) made Hunter nervous. Even setting aside his considerable power, by many accounts the guy should have been made the leader of the team that had been built. He was older for one thing, and although in terms of experience he thought they were roughly equal in general even Hunter couldn't deny that the guy knew more about the world on this side of the portal. And yet despite all that when Hunter had tentatively asked if the pyrokinetic wanted the top spot in the group the man had simply chuckled to himself, ruffled his hair, and told him that it would be Hunter's for as long as he wanted it. In other words, Hunter didn't understand the guy at all.

The two exchanged nods but were otherwise content to wait in silence, and it wasn't long before another of their number flew up as well, a pink dragon descending before turning into a teenage girl about an inch above the ground.

Haley Long had come to Springfield with her parents and grandfather, all looking for safety in a world that was increasingly unsafe for them. To say that they had been deeply opposed to their only daughter joining a group like the Hellfish was putting it mildly; in the end only the combination of Haley's declaration that even if her parents said no she would still sneak out to join their group at every opportunity, her grandfather promising that he would keep an eye on her during his duties and Mr Simpson's agreement that the group as a whole and the younger members in particular wouldn't be doing anything more strenuous than beginner's training had convinced them to let her do it.

Hunter got along fairly well with Haley, at least he thought so anyway. Despite the age gap they were able to talk to each other without any real issues, and in a way she reminded him of Luz. But sometimes she would look at him with a sad expression that he couldn't for the life of him interpret, the looks disappearing whenever Haley thought he had noticed.

The two teens chatted about their day for a bit while Warren leaned back against a tree in a way that looked relaxed and unaware of one's surroundings, though Hunter knew better; Warren was never not paying attention, but he was amazing at pretending otherwise. The conversation ended as they heard a bicycle bell, and on looking up they would see Lisa Simpson and Webby Vanderquack rapidly approaching.

At first Hunter had thought that Lisa had joined their new Hellfish as a kind of nepotism. Which, fine he could have dealt with; he'd basically only gotten to be the Golden Guard because Belos was his 'uncle', at least officially. Then he spoke to her and realized that the girl was smart. Like, scary smart, with an insight that he would have expected from someone considerably older. He no longer complained about her being part of their group.

Webby on the other hand was just too peppy for him to ever really dislike, and the fact that she'd put him on his back within minutes of meeting her didn't hurt (he'd accidentally snuck up behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder. The throw she'd used had been extremely effective and he'd begged for her to teach it to him immediately after.

Hunter looked around for a moment, searching for the last member of their group. "Bart's not with you?" He asked, getting a roll of the eyes from said boy's sister.

"To quote him, the air isn't going to let itself out of Principal Skinner's tires," Lisa replied, sighing as she thought of her troublemaking sibling.

In a way, Hunter envied Bart; the other boy had an ability to ignore people of authority that he didn't think he'd get if he lived another twenty years, and he couldn't help but wonder if he might have been more like Bart if he hadn't been raised by an authoritarian like Belos. Shaking his head, he looked at the present members and nodded.

"In that case, I'll call the twelfth meeting of the New Flying Hellfish to order." At once the assembled kids and teenager turned their attention to Hunter, and he felt his resolve be strengthened. They weren't quite there yet, but with a group like this…Maybe they stood a chance against monsters like Belos.

...I have no explanation. My muse, she is both whimsical and possibly insane.

The Funeral of One Abe Simpson (non canon)
The Funeral of One Abe Simpson

It was an average day in the Power Plant. Abraham Jedediah Simpson gave a content smile as he slowly made his way through the floor, checking in on all his employees.

"Eyyyy, Mr. Simpson, you old dinosaur! Nice to see you around!" Lenny waved cheerfully.

"These 12 years have been the happiest of my life. You should come celebrate with us!" Carl added.

"I would love to, boys, but Bart's coming to visit and you know how he gets if you break a promise." He shakes his head. the two whine and grouse good naturedly before getting back to work.

Abe smiled as he sat in his office. Everything was… perfect. Burns was in jail, the Plant was facing record profits but in a sustainable way that made employees feel safe and happy, he had reforged the embers of old connections he long thought extinguished forever…. Abe was almost scared it was a dream.

But it wasn't. This was reality. His PERFECT reality!

Abe yawned.

"I suppose a little shut eye can't hurt…" he smiled and closed his eyes.

An hour later, one Bart Simpson arrived at the office and let himself in.

"Hey Grampa, sorry I'm late, I ran into Skinner and for old time's sake I- …Uh, Grampa?" Bart blinked. He approached his grandfather and poked him. His happy expression didn't change and his eyes didn't open.

Bart put his hands to his mouth.

Practically all of Springfield attended the funeral.

Abe had done so much for them, touched all their hearts in ways they never considered imaginable.

"He was a good man, your grandfather." Skinner looked at his former student. Bart stared blearily at him before breaking down crying.

"It's not fair! I... I should have been there! I could have.. I.."

"Nothing would have changed, Bart. Nothing would have changed." Skinner said soothingly. Bart sobbed into his former principal's chest, who comfortingly rubbed his back.

There was a sudden muttering amongst the crowd. Stepping in was One Dr. Heinz Doofensmirthz. In later years he and Abe had become nemeses after a long stint of friendship.

Homer angrily approached Doof.

"If you're here to pull something -" he warned.

Doof walked past him and set down a Dookleberry on the casket with uncharacteristic quiet.

"... Goodbye, another nemesis." He said simply. He then turned and left.

The funeral went like that. People paid their respects and left their gifts. After awhile, Abe was transferred to the local cemetery. Wilhelm saluted with the upmost respect as his friend was lowered in.

"Goodbye mine friend. May the next life reward vour valor…" he quietly stated.

After awhile, everyone sadly went home, as we pan out to reveal Abe was buried next to Mona.

'Here lies Abraham Jedediah Simpson - Everyone's Beloved Grampa'.

Eye Of The Bear, Thrill Of The Fight (canon!)
Eye Of The Bear, Thrill Of The Fight

A picnic table shattered under the weight of Fat Tony D'Amico (an apt name, he couldn't help but muse as he tried to get back to his feet), having been pushed back by a swipe from a truly monstrous black bear that had been unfortunate enough to decide to nest in a cave that Burns had been hiding nuclear waste in for years. Thankfully one didn't last long as a mafioso without being quick on one's feet, and so Tony managed to roll to the side just in time to avoid getting pounced on by the angry, mutated beast.

"Call those claws of yours sharp?" The Italian bellowed back, not deterred in the slightest by the (thankfully shallow) claw marks that had been made in his chest, "Those fucking Yakuza had sharper blades than that, and I still bent them over my knee!" Once more he charged at his quarry and thanked his lucky stars that for all it's raw power it was also very slow; he didn't think that he'd be alive now if it was more agile. "I'll make braciole out of you, you hear me you pezzo di merda!"

Despite his boast Tony could feel his blood pumping, having not encountered a fight like this in years. The wickedly sharp knife in his hand was barely able to get past the mutated bear's hide, and though he could see it's fur starting to be stained by blotches of red it didn't seem to be weakening. Well, that was fine, he hadn't gone into this brawl expecting an easy fight after all.

In some ways, Tony knew his time at the top of Springfield's criminal underworld had diminished him. Oh he was still more than capable of holding his own in a fight, but when was the last time he'd actually gotten bloodied like this? It had been far too long since he'd dirtied his hands like this; it was exhilarating as it was terrifying, and he loved it. Perhaps it was as his father had told him on more than one occasion, and you only ever knew who you really were when your back was against the wall. If so then he was certainly learning a lot about himself today!

Seeing the bear attempt to swipe at him with it's tree trunk like arm, Tony immediately brought his own arm up to stop it's momentum, and though it felt like his bones broke from even that impact he still managed to reach into his pocket with his other arm, pulling out a syringe with a luminescent green liquid inside. Thinking quickly, the mafioso stabbed the needle into the bear's chest as hard as he could, pressing the plunger once it was good and deep!

The mutated bear roared in anger at the sharp pain, it's three eyes clenched as it swiped wildly in front of it. One swing managed to get Tony again, pushing him back against a tree as his quarry stumbled towards him. It stood on it's hind legs, mouth frothing with rage as it once again lifted it's massive foreleg high in the air. Unable to move, Tony closed his eyes and waited for the end…Only to be surprised when instead he heard a loud thump in front of him.

Opening his eyes, the mafioso would see the bear slumped on the ground before him, the sedative Frink had given him having done it's job. A barking laugh escaped Tony's lips as he looked down at his fallen foe, hardly able to believe that he'd actually managed to come out ahead in this fight. Looking to the side he could already see the truck he'd come with driving up, a few men in protective gear preparing to lift the truly massive black bear into the specially made cage in the truckbed. "Make sure the chains are on good and tight," he told the plant workers, "The last thing we want is for this one to go all Mighty Joe Young on us while we're driving!" Another young man approached with a first aid kit, and Tony took a seat as his wounds were tended to. Next time he visited the family, he knew, he would have one hell of a story to tell them!

…Though he would make sure that Michael was in bed before he did. No point in worrying his boy unnecessarily.

I will not rest until Fat Tony is given the respect he deserves. As a fellow Italian I can do no less.
