"I wouldn't..."

"L-Louise, don't-" Someone said from the side of the room, but she was too focused on the ignorant harlot standing before her.

"I wouldn't know betrayal?" Louise grit out, her jaw clenching in fury. "You think you know of better than I do?!"

Lifting an arm toward Yang, her skin buzzed and she sank further into Alteration Invisibility to dodge the child-sized missile that was Hinata. It took more magicka on top of the alright high amount needed to sustain Fire and Frost cloaks at the same time, but like anger, she had plenty to spare. Not wasting a moment, the pinkette pinned her team leader's sister against the ceiling and screamed, "How dare you speak as if you have any idea what that word means!"

Dropping the idiot slag after it became obvious that she wasn't listening, Louise waited just long enough for her to catch herself in a kneel before slamming her face into the floor and lifting her straight back up. When she tried to protest, her mouth was forced closed with the same spell.

"She didn't mean it!" Ruby cried, watching helplessly as her sister was held up by an intangible attacker. "Calm down, please!"

"Your mother didn't betray you, she died!" The enraged pinkette shouted over the younger sister's words. "Do you have any idea how much I would give to have my mother simply have died while I was young like you?!"

"What the f-" The blonde interrupted by mumbling through her lips.

Slamming her head against the ceiling in warning, Louise continued, "I spent years doing everything I could to gain her approval. Years! I studied, I trained, I stayed up for weeks at a time, I prayed to an dead and uncaring god; nothing was good enough! Everything I did to prove myself capable of casting a single spell, crafting a drop of potion, anything to let her see me as something other than another failure of a daughter to hide away until I could be married off to a family respectable enough that my husband's social standing would make up for my incompetence.... None of it mattered to her!"

"Summer cared enough to remember the things you liked and you're spitting in her face while I wasn't even allowed to have a 'favorite' food because that would make me predictable and easier to assassinate! If I didn't do something that met her standards, my own mother couldn't have been bothered to smile in my direction! My elder sister was locked in her bedroom because of her shameful infirmity for most of her life. Karin, our mother, took pleasure in terrifying me by waking me in the middle of the nights that I actually did manage to sleep soundly while wearing a iron mask from her time in the military!"

"Can you guess what she did when I finally managed to succeed? When I became powerful in my own right and went to her for approval?" Louise asked with false calm, extinguishing all three cloaks and returning to visibility. "Go on, guess."

Releasing the girl, Louise watched dispassionately as she dropped like a sack of potatoes. When Yang stood back up, tensing for another trip to the ceiling that didn't come, she rubbed at her jaw and angrily asked, "Geeze, I dunno, something bad?"

"She tried to have me publicly executed!" Louise roared, sparks flying off of her in spite of the lack of active spells. "That damnable woman called Master Cynric a mongrel, stabbed him in the throat, and locked me away until the church could send somebody to make a spectacle of my death!"

"Hey, you guys know we can hear you shouting from down the hall, right?" A voice said from behind her, causing Louise to turn and glare at the Arc boy standing in the still open doorway. As she maintained eye contact, a patch of shattered ceiling plaster fell in front of him and he looked away. "S-sorry... I can see you're busy, so I'll just... come back later."

Everyone stood awkwardly watching the boy scurry away. The silence broke when Ruby appeared in a flurry of rose petals and wrapped her arms around Louise's torso. Not one for close contact, but not knowing what to do about it at the moment, the pinkette patted the girl on the head and looked expectantly up at an uncomfortable Yang.

The blonde rubbed at the back of her neck. "Look... I wasn't thinking clearly, clearly. I didn't- I wasn't trying to... I'm sorry, okay."

"As if-" Louise began, only to pause on seeing Hinata's expression of disapproval. Still not even close to happy, the wind ripped from her sails, Louise sighed and tried to pry her way free of the leech of a child. "Apology accepted, just learn to think before you assume that you've experienced worse than everyone else."

Shaking her head, Yang barked out a laugh, "Yeah, no. You win the worst family award, hands down. Come on Ruby, she's right. We should at least give mom a chance."

"I can't." Ruby whimpered, pressing herself closer to Louise. "She'll leave again."

"Ruby... She won't... No, even if she does, you still have me. Anyway, Summer, I don't know if I under-" Yang began, before looking around in confusion. "Summer? Mom?"

Activating her eyes, Hinata pointed down. "She's three floors below us, talking to somebody on a scroll."

"Huh? She's been dead for years, who would she even call?"

"-ere has to be some way you can help! My little babies grew up without me and now they hate me. What did you do while I was gone?! I can't fix this on my own!" Taiyang listened with complete lack of comprehension as a very, very familiar voice cried into his ear.

Status: Uninjured and Annoyed.
Magicka: (6000/12000)

Choose:

[] They can fix what they caused on their own. Storm off and go find
-[] Blackie.
-[] Vicky.

[] Go down and fetch the ghost before anyone sees her in their room.

[] Jaune appeared uninjured still, call Pyrrha back before she can correct that and get herself expelled. Besides, somebody needs to repair the damage to the room and it isn't going to be you.

[] Write in.

A/N: I was really hoping you guys would choose the 25% chance option and then fail so I could have Louise Explosion the room.

huh, well, that went Remarkably well and Louise even had the social grace to understand Hinata and Ruby's feelings (kind of) in the matter. She may have some hope yet to become a well adjusted person...maybe.

I think we should get Summer back in the room, shenanigans with Pyrrha and Jaune can wait. Besides, this is a direct task from Cynric, Louise would even stay close to Yang just to finish it.

[X] Go down and fetch the ghost before anyone sees her in their room.

Damage control time. Well, not that I expect most people to care for subtlety and information control at this point anyways...

Yeah, no. You win the worst family award, hands down.
Ah, but we have best teacher to compensate for it! <3
Louise must have done something horrific in her past life, and going by the number of moons casually dropped on worlds, her next one isn't shaping to be any better.

:D:lol:rofl:

...I am just trying to imagine his face on the other end and every time I read this I break down into giggles.

Great finish.

Going with the best option. I get no pleasure from putting these people through horrible situations so I think it would be best if we just finished up this happy reunion with hugs and not blood and tears

Blackie will fix our problems. Or not. Who cares! Louise needs Blackie Therapy.

As tempting as spending time with one of our therapy animals is, we probably shouldn't let the situation grow much more out of control.

Could we summon her? I mean Louise's mental state is at stake. And besides, Louise should be accomplished enough to cast such a spell, what could go wrong?
Cynric hasn't actually taught Louise any Conjuration. You know, gotta keep that Trump Card in the inevitable event of betrayal.

So... a lot could go wrong.:V

We've faced worse odds. What's a little horrific mutilation and or death due to hubris between friends? We'll never know if we can do the impossible until we try and fail.

Where did the idea that Louise has developed an emotional dependence on Blake come from?

Also why is Tsun still blonde when he has been upgraded with regeneration?

Tsun is basically some sort of Frankenstein's monster-esque patchwork corpse abomination; new parts were needed before he had his regeneration, so Cynric just stuck a bunch of different bodies parts on him (which is also why he has two sets of arms). I believe he's still mostly made of Saito, but his head definitely isn't, hence the different hair colour.

Let them try reconcilation again. Now, while the Rose family is distracted from self-pity by pitying Louise.
