Reluctantly leaving her sister to the blonde doctor's, whose name you still have yet to learn somehow, Louise leads you through the Oblivion gate and up away from the outpost. You notice as you leave that some of the smaller, non-warehouse buildings being erected have Vahlen's people directing their construction.
Disregarding that for the moment, the two of you soar at maximum speed over the city. Along the way you spot an armored figure flying toward you and instruct your apprentice to pass close to the curious black gravity well. Their armored profile suggest they're a male and their spear crackles menacingly with lightning as he closes the distance at an alarming rate. There's no chance of outrunning him and a fight would be an unnecessary delay. Dodging through the debris field until you're sure his line of sight has been broken, you grab Louise by the wrist and Cast Invisibility on her then yourself.
As the man fruitlessly searches the floating rubble, you guide her lower and continue on in the direction of the rundown docks. Once you reach sufficient distance, you ask, "Do you have any idea who that was?"
"His name is Dauntless." She answers immediately, taking the lead once again and turning slightly Northward. "He's a shameless man who believes he can address s woman he's never met as if they were close acquaintances."
"Did you do something to upset him? He seemed in urgent need to catch up to us."
Louise simply shrugs in response, which you assume to mean that she did in fact cause problems for the man. Either way, it doesn't really matter to you so long as he doesn't become a recurring problem. Eventually the pinkette descends on a decrepit brick building.
The ground floor windows are cracked or boarded over in several places, the doors are heavily rusted, and even some of the walls are beginning to crumble. All in all, it isn't a very impressive base of operations... barely a step above hiding in a mildewing dungeon or basement, really.
Still, she seems sure enough as she opens the door and strides inside. Following her, you see that the interior is in much better condition. While coated in dust and cobwebs in the corners, the large vertical rolling door appears to be well maintained or recently replaced, markings on the concrete floor show that much has been moved in the last couple of days, and four large box-shaped vehicles with open tops are tightly packed into the room.
Not even a minute after your arrival, the Undersiders rush down the stairs to meet you. While you aren't too sure on all of their ages, you know Taylor should be in school at the moment and yet she was the first to reach the ground floor... and probably the only reason they knew you were there. Behind her is Tattletale, being led by Grue and followed shortly after by Alec.
"Salutations, Undersiders." You say with a hand raised in greeting. The general response is quiet and wary as they all watch your apprentice unsubtly place herself in their midst by walking up to Taylor.
Levitating to pat the much taller girl on the head, Louise asks, "How are you doing today? I trust nobody was rude to you about your deviant predilections?"
"I'm not a lesbian!" The child says angrily, batting the pinkette's hand aside.
"A what?" Louise asks, tilting her head in confusion. "Maybe I should have used easier words... I simply wanted to know if the others were being rude about your... well... your perverted lust for nubile female affection."
Rubbing your forehead at her behavior, you watched the others stifled their laughter under Louise's withering glare while she made the poor child splutter with indignation. It was probably a hopeless cause to try and make the pinkette more accepting of something so foreign to her culture, at least in the short term. She was still struggling with the knowledge that 'commoners' have the potential for magic as well, so informing her that even somewhere as barbaric as Skyrim was at least tolerantly ambivalent of homosexuals would probably be too much for her to handle.
Still glaring at the rest of them, Louise awkwardly attempts and fails to give some measure of comfort to her friend. "There's no need to deny it, Vicky told me about this weeks ago. While I find it... distasteful... It isn't your fault. Some people are simply born with problems that they cannot fix, like my overwhelming power, but don't worry about it! I promised Vicky when we first met that I would do my best to avoid letting this influence how I treat you."
"While this is... enlightening, I'm sure, could we move on to the purpose of our coming?" You say with an explosive sigh, bringing attention away from the exchange and getting a grateful look from the girl who had no idea on how to respond. "Have you managed to gather everything on the list I gave you?"
"Er... Yeah, that's everything but the gas and the haul from the recycling plant just out of town. One of our contacts will be sending some trucks to deliver that stuff." Grue explains hesitantly, obviously hoping you won't be offended that everything isn't in the building despite the fact that they never knew you would even be coming.
You simply nod in acceptance, earning a sigh of relief as you turn to float up to look over the rim on one of the trucks. Tattletale shifts anxiously in the corner of your vision, her impatience growing now that she knows how close she is to being healed. You're unsure if they did it on purpose, but by splitting the materials between two places, they have added a sort of deterrent to turning on them and just taking it all.
While you inspect the contents of the vehicles, Alec decides to announce, "Taylor tells us you've got a crush on Halbeard."
"I did no such thing!" Louise refutes, sneering at the boy as if affronted by the suggestion. "Crushing is needlessly time consuming, I prefer stabbing or slicing if not just simply killing them with spellfire. I don't know anyone with such a ridiculous name either."
Judging by her facial expression, Taylor is unsure of whether to be horrified or exasperated as she clarifies, "He means you're infatuated with Armsmaster."
Blushing at your amused interest in her response, your apprentice crosses her arms in front of her and shouts, "I am not! J-just because I admitted to l-l-liking his beard d-doesn't mean anything of the sort!"
"Then why are you stuttering and blushing?" The suicidal blonde presses with a grin while you briefly look over the middle to trucks to see that they are full of tools, soil, plant seeds, and other related materials.
"I don't have to tell you anything!" She growls back. "Isn't there something important for us to be doing, Master?"
Deciding to change the topic to something more productive before Louise kills anyone, you turn away from the last truck with it's metal cylinders and mound of corpses to ask, "Did they not have coffins?"
"Oh, I'm sorry the dead people you made us steal aren't neatly boxed up, that's not how morgues store bodies!" Taylor answered in apparent displeasure even with the excuse you'd given for why you needed the corpses. "Can you please just heal Tattletale and take your stuff before everyone finds out we've been robbing funeral homes?"
It would seem that her gratitude is short lived.
"This is going to be painful." You warn as you approach the blonde before flicking one arm toward Louise and begin to continually absorb magicka from the pinkette while casting Mass Paralysis.
While everyone is immobile, you pull her mask off and immediately blast her in the face with Flames to remove the scar tissue. The moment the skin is damaged enough, you stop burning her and push several balls of Restoration magic into her ruined flesh. Blackened skin fades into pink and the burst orbs in her sockets reform into a pair of rather stunning green eyes. Going a step further, you use your apprentice's magic to regrow the blonde's hair.
A simple Casting of Dispel on each of them, starting with Louise of course, allows them all to move once more. Tattletale remains slumped on the floor however, having lost consciousness during her treatment from the pain.
"What the fuck was that?!" Grue demands as he climbs back to his feet, Taylor not even bothering to look at you as she rushes to her fallen comrade's side.
Raising an unimpressed brow, you reply, "Healing."
"You burned her face off!"
Sighing, you ask, "Do you think she would be happy to remain terribly scarred for life? No? Well then, she cannot complain about how I removed the damaged tissue. "
Still not pleased, the black clad boy begins emitting wisps of smoke and orders, "Just take your stuff and go."
"Not before I get my reward!" Alec cuts in, entirely unconcerned about what just happened.
"If you want these," You say, pulling out the two enchanted belts and wrapping them around your waist to turn invisible. "Then you will need to come back to our laboratory and fulfill your end of the bargain."
As you pull them of and put them back in your knapsack, Alec looks to Grue and completely ignores the silent reprimand. "For a kickass set of gear? Sure, I can do that."
"Regent, no." Grue says warningly. "Tattletale's in no condition to go anywhere."
Rolling his eyes, Alec snorts, "So I'll go alone. Just stay here and keep an eye out boss, I'll be back before you know it. Now, who gets to carry me? Our lady of obscene violence or Saruman the geriatric?"
Scowling at the boy, your apprentice telekinetically pulls his legs out from under him and drags him out of the building by his ankles. Ignoring both his complaints and those of Grue, you quickly follow. Before stepping out into the streets, you reanimate four of the corpses to drive the trucks back to the outpost, eliciting a shriek of alarm from the children.
