It's only fair to give her privacy. But we can try to convince her to let Mami in on it… ain't letting the others in tho. :V

expresses more interest than you'd expected at Madoka's desire to become a doctor.

[X] Give Kyoko her privacy while performing the scan.

Currently I'm not so sure it's The plague doctor, but just in case it's a cognito hazard of some kind...

My guess is it's probably Skullbro, since the story section mentions employees losing memories after confessing their sins to it.
Didn't One Bro only erase the memory of an employee who lied to him? I remember reading about an employee who bullied someone in the past and got him killed, wether he forgot that thanks to feeling guilty, or lied knowingly I don't know.

EDIT: Oooookay, just visited the wiki to make sure, and the way the employee talks makes me think he was not only lying knowingly, but that he had no remorse whatsoever (while "confessing" he made the joke of "our 'deer' friend", I don't think you would make such jokes if it's a painful memory... But maybe it was his way if coping let's say.
After "confessing" he showed skepticism of One Bro abilities. So that can make the lying theory a little more believable.
But finally, the thing that makes me think he is not only lying, but an asshole is this quote:
"Afterwards, we investigated the incident in the employee's hometown to get a better picture. We learned that a boy named Justin was shot and killed in a deer costume by hunters during hunting season. Unlike the employee's confession, Justin was repeatedly bullied by other kids. Witnesses said they heard the kids shout "Run Justin, run!" right before the gunshot. After the incident, the kids at the scene moved out of town, and deer hunting was banned in the area."
They shouted "Run Justin, Run!"... Considering how little he cared about it, I can't help but think they were making fun of him.).
Of course this is a theory, so it's not confirmed, and should not be taken as fact. The possiblity of him truly feeling guilt for his crimes is still there.

Been a while since there's been such a long list to go through
you're about to do as brain surgery

Is there a reason this is capitalized, as opposed to usage of the same word in other updates?
the Bluenette exclaims

I would say "three-day-old Magical Girl" but that doesn't seem quite right either; "Magical Girl of three days"?
No, that doesn't seem quite right either, but it's closer? Maybe??
three-day Magical Girl
somber that than Homura
least on of her friend group

We fishing now? :V
pulling in her weight

"Seeing what it looks like" "in this way" "from even such a small expenditure"?
Seeing what that it looks like in this way from even such a small expenditure.

Tonight? Didn't we start in the afternoon?
one more for tonight today
Homura has tenses tensed in anticipation, expected expecting this
Soul Gem in suspicious suspicion
bowstring pulled taught taut
consciousness transfer isn't uncommon in the City, that's not the issue here
unless you have any day say in it
one none of your guests decide to leave

Well, this reveal seems to have went about as well as it could have.

E: At this rate it seems like we are going to have a competition for Exposure high scores. Also, just being nearby Lobotomy usage isn't enough to raise Exposure levels (unless Abnormality influence blocks one from getting Exposure)

Now that who "she" is is confirmed, add a comma after "next to impossible" to facilitate comprehension and break up a really long string of words
Fighting really wasn't for her, but healing or supporting people? She had always wanted to be a doctor, and since it was implied that balancing such a demanding career with being a Magical Girl would be next to impossible Madoka hoped she'd still be able to help people in the same way if she made a Contract

Anyway, given the update, how can we support Mami and Sayaka from here forth? Don't see much else we can do for Mami, but Sayaka? Update did give quite a few hints into her concerns after all.
Some manner of allowing her to be at ease within her own skin? (Quite ironic given the latest reveal)

It's really quite interesting. Rereading the wiki, the entry also mentions tiers of sins. The memory loss incident was a tier 3 sin, one that cannot be told to anyone and will be taken to the grave.

Assuming this is the work of One Sin, what did Kyoko confess to it? Her wish leading to the ruin of the Sakura family seems the obvious choice, but she is able to confess that sin to Sayaka in the anime and to Mami (depending on whether back story from The Different Story spinoff is being used). The only other major sin I can think of is her leaving Mami (again drawing on The Different Story), but again it does not quite hit tier 3 in terms of severity.

Or perhaps it's not the severity of the sin by itself. The abnormality story notes that inaccurate confessions to One Sin could be distinct from plain lies in that they arise subconsciously.

If Kyoko was unable to be honest with herself about the nature of her sin for whatever reason (severity being one factor, the other being her ability to self-deceive a.k.a. be a tsundere) then the actual sin literally cannot be told to anyone, not even One Sin or herself, because it is warped by her own perception when she tries to tell it. Hence the confession causing memory loss.

Hers is a very careful, fragile emptiness that shields her from the suffering all around her.

And we should find a way to both make it more resistant and to fill it.

It probably wasn't an hour, although you're only so sure because you doubt everyone else would have waited to speak for so long.

Can you imagine? Everyone watching in awkward silence for one whole hour? Wanting to ask questions but not having the nerve to? This would be hilarious.

"None of Miki Sayaka's memories are visible to us." Homura states. Around the table, the other girls nod in assent. Interesting, although not unprecedented. You see and hear a lot of things other people can't.

So, in resume, they see the tree and the grief in it, but they can't see the details of what's in it, well, that's logical. I wouldn't be surprised if the fact we can see the memories has more to do with knowing what to look for and not an innate inability for the others though.

Sayaka stares almost hatefully at her Soul Gem in her hand. "This thing… are you telling me this is my soul? That I'm just some… walking corpse?" Her voice is tight and unsteady, like a bowstring pulled taught. The mood darkens as she speaks. Mami's worry becomes panic, glancing around the room. Yuma is leaning into her in comfort, a worried expression on her face. Homura has placed her hand over her Soul Gem, ready to transform at any moment. At Sayaka's side, Madoka seems almost paralyzed.

Ah, there it is, ok, let's cut through this bullshit real fast, X can certainly explains why it's not like this.

The room is silent but for quiet sobbing and the distant crackle of thunder.

White Night stop it with the effects! The moment is bad enough without dramatic thunder! :V

To your mild surprise, one of your guests decide to leave after you finish with your reporting.

Given what follows, I think you wanted to say *none of your guests*?

Mami's old student, on the other hand. Very much is. She asks Mami about what's been happening since they parted, lightly teases Sayaka about her overly-chivalric tendencies, and expresses more interest than you'd expected at Madoka's desire to become a doctor.

Confirmation that Kyouko very much isn't believing the bullshit philosophy she has during her time alone anymore, she clearly has cleared out her problems to get her wish magic back, and probably some EGO too.

"You should already know that. They were dead when we first met."

Kyoko's expression shifts rapidly from shame to confusion to frustration and back again. "I- No, I definitely remember- But we met-"

Ok, shit, everyone, begin playing second trumpet! We have a problem! A big one!

Mami deserves to see this.

I think she deserves to be the first one informed, but Kyouko asked to be alone, contrary to Sayaka, we'll respect their respective wishes.

Sayaka Miki: Exposure II -> Exposure IV

We get a little new case of expo IV, so we have the trigger for this one but still aren't completely sure of the one for I and II, funnily enough.

Through Kyouko is going to confirm if this is the trigger for IV or if this is a quick way to gain two levels, since she is still at 0.

My suspects for what is responsible:

-Worst case, she was blessed by White Night, hope not, because that would make her a ticking bomb.

-EGO corrosion, she, somehow, got an EGO armor from somewhere and it is too powerful for her, leading to some mental problems. Problem with this one: no physical changes on kyouko, which should be the case.

-She's Nothing There doing her best performance yet, very doubtful, NT didn't seem to want to stay hidden from us and is supposed to be somewhere else, and the Nobody Is alternative has the problem of Lepi telling us there probably wouldn't be any aberrations.

-She confessed her sins to Onebro and he removed their weight from her, he just was a little too literal in it.

There are others but they are not in a coherent form, we are lacking much data and will probably learn way more next update anyway.

The crack theory advances further!
Kyoko's expression shifts rapidly from shame to confusion to frustration and back again. "I- No, I definitely remember- But we met-"
This definitely looks like she actually remembers seeing Mami's parents. It's not a simple hole in memory, Kyoko just said that later because it's more believable. Why is that, I wonder...? What manner of Abnormality could possibly manipulate memories??

...Oh well, I'll stop trying to be coy about this and just say the obvious. There is no such Abnormality. It's just bleed-through of Homucifer's timeline due to WhiteNight. (Cf: flesh is bound to the flow of time, but the soul is immortal.) It's the only possible explanation for Mami having her parents and still being a magical girl - apparently Homu decided she didn't want to deal with that particular time bomb and arranged for them to survive.

Poor QM is clearly not even trying to be subtle about this, what with Kyoko's sudden interest in doctors. But I guess short of her literally turning into a spear apostle, no one's going to pick up on the hints.

This theory was brought to you by the authors of "Roland is totally a claw in disguise" :V

Ozma does have Oblivion amongst her themes, so, yes, the pumpkin is also a clear candidate for the one responsible.

This theory was brought to you by the authors of "Roland is totally a claw in disguise" :V

I mean, he clearly wears the same costume. :V

Edit:

The more I think about Nobody Is, the more I wonder how we should react if it was the case, after all, Nobody Is biggest wish is to be someone, and the current situation would be a dream come true for it, since it would have been quite close to actually doing it.

Not that I think it is likely to be the case anyway, just some musings on the ramifications (it would also means *Kyouko*, the original one, is dead, so…)

Welp at least we aren't dealing with the aleph abberant of apocalypse bird I theorized exists as an absolute worst case scenario

Ps in case you're wondering the name I theorized for it, JABBERWOCKY

My first thought if for Abnormality was the Scarecrow but it doesn't quite fit with how he does thing...

She really does believe that you can fix everything now. That this will pass without any issue.
As an aside, we might be able to fiddle our way into getting Porccubus' Sapling done now if we really wanted to. That, or Big Bird's...........

Multitasking is something you mastered long ago
If we get the chance I'm gonna try to abuse this as far as possible in the next free time vote
(We've at least confirmed here that using Lobotomy, and perhaps our other abilities, does not have negative effects on observers - combining Social and Experiments might not be impossible, if not always appropriate)

Also, it seems like we aren't going to get the chance to lay down prepwork for the other bomb in this meeting, the way things are going?

Anyway, given the update, how can we support Mami and Sayaka from here forth? Don't see much else we can do for Mami, but Sayaka? Update did give quite a few hints into her concerns after all.
Sayaka's big problems, from her perspective, are that she doesn't have a her old place among her friends, and isn't contributing as much as other people are. She feels inadequate compared to Madoka and Hitomi, and can't meet the standard she's set for herself. Standards that seem to be based around Mami's example. Which leads into this weird feedback loop of Mami trying to impress Sayaka, Sayaka trying to do as well as her, in turn pushing Mami, etc.

Granted, we've helped the Mami issue a lot, first by moving in and then by adopting her and Yuma. She feels secure because X has agreed to be there for her, to take responsibility for her. And Yuma being there helps, I think, because Yuma is so much younger, it gives Mami her own new responsibility to help take care of her. I imagine it helps things feel more solid, more real.

Which brings me back to Sayaka's parents. Good or bad, you have to spend so much time with immediate family just because of living arrangements that they're bound to leave some kind of impression, and they don't seem to be hugely impactful to her. Very strange. I kinda want to go poking at that, just to see what's up.

As for what to do? You can't talk someone out of a position they've felt their way into. So we should find something that lets Sayaka do more, or just make more of her contributions when she's helping Mami or anyone else fight.
The only other major sin I can think is her leaving Mami (again drawing on The Different Story), but again it does not quite hit tier 3 in terms of severity.
If we count Sin through inaction, she did spend like a year knowingly letting familiars run around her turf eating people so they'd grow into witches. If we also figure intentions matter, that's a lot worse then what happened to her family.
