Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

Was sad to see us leave America/Canada though. Best Forest deserves more love.
A lot of us were when we found out about the what could have been path.
Meh. The reason most of us voted to go to Europe is because the Light was chasing us. Had it not been the case, we would probably have stayed much longer in Canada.
Rukia bitches about it and taunts us with it, but it was his own damn fault we had to leave anyway, so I just ignore him when he gets like that.

So no, saying we signed up for this knowing we would have to kill is not a valid reason IC.

Hm... you are neither wrong, nor right. It is a bit of both.

We asked whether we would have to kill people and Karen told us yes, back when we talked to her for the first time. We did know and now we know the order was given. Cerys never really struck me as someone who would go back on her word like this.
It is not something someone can just go and do, you are right... but we agreed to do it before and we have little (read: no) reason to let this person live on top of that.

Of course, if someone went to the trouble and proposed a valid on how to subdue this opponent non-lethally, might support that... but against a mage of unknown power, who might be empowered by whatever rituals they carried out?
I would rather not take the risk.

Right now, we are ordered to kill... and we kind of accepted Karen as our boss when we accepted her proposal, so refusing now would not be the best idea.
Plus, if we manage to subdue that black mage and bring them back, Karen would have them executed anyway.

I get this but I feel like it should be said in character, something like what is black magic does it make you go crazy,

or do you not have a prison then.

or I've killed before but it was always because I had to. If I captured him he would be killed anyway wouldn't he.

[] Finish Him

Rather then just accept it, kill him but show we have reservations

Firstly, that isn't very nice.
Secondly, I am well aware why you didn't take that route. I just like to bring it up from time to time for memories.

I have never bitched that you didn't take one route over another, at least not seriously (a joke), nor have I ever taunted you for doing something.
Please don't bring this negativity here.

Considering what Rukia said before, I think Cerys will do those things automatically, should they be the case. If she has reservations, she will ask more questions to ease her conscience... and so on. I mean, she does have some time until she reaches the place, enough to talk to her operator (Morgan) about what is going on with black magic.

I can understand SAB, though; it does feel like taunting if you bring it up again and again.... does not bother me just yet, but I can understand their feelings.
Besides, would you like me to bring up the 'small' housefire once in a while as well and not get a little... unhappy reading about it again?

Jokes only stay jokes when part of the thread doesn't get legitimately upset over having it thrown in their face.

For me at least it's become a sore subject when it's brought up semi routinely. The second I read what could've been I regret the vote to leave and wish someone anyone suggested we stay and convince the rest of us as well. So while I don't have Shadow's annoyance I do still wish we could go back...

Why do you guys keep ragging on the guy for making a mistake ages ago, one that he apologized for, and also one in which we received no truly negative consequences for?

We were shot at, but we fully recovered. There's literally nothing bad that happened to us as a result of being shot at. It happened 2 months ago, Rukia apologized, and people still bring it up

Can I be forgiven for making a mistake two months ago near the beginning of my first Quest.

I... what? wtf? He brought it up as analogy to how some people feel about how we could have stayed in the forest. Seriously, what the hell dude?

... I have literally no words for how badly you just read that. I hadn't even seen Naron's post when I made mine. Just... yeah, okay then.

In the interest of dropping this topic, has it been mentioned what kind of time scale this quest is going to be working on in the future? Are we going to stick with the week by week for awhile, or are we going to see some bigger time skips?

It's going to vary depending.
If there isn't much going on, 1 week per chapter.
If there is a lot, it can be 1 chapter per 5 minutes.

And yes, I am about ready to let this conversation fall by the wayside.

No is calling you out on the house fire, they said "remember how you felt when people used to bring it up? Well we feel the same when you bring up the shrine maiden route." As in some of us get upset when you do.

EDIT: And I didn't see the post. Sorry.

Anyway, thread back on track.

XP Plan is pretty uniformly High-Speed Combat

I'll go run that through now unless anyone has any objections?

Uhh, guys. The XP plan already went through...
It is quite hilarious to see those pop up even after the fact, though.

Anyway, we have High-Speed Combat now... this is nice especially because it gives us an advantage even on the ground due to a better reaction time. Next up are Limitless and The Hungering Void... hm.

Our exponential growth starts to actually come by and Cerys begins to make herself. Now we only need trustworthy comrades and the legend of the Old Guard will be born.

By the way, @Rukia... we get Achievements for doing things you did not expect/thought possible, yes?
