Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

Given the other use of bold that immediately springs to mind is Alpha and Omega we might want to use Halt sparingly. It may affect other dimensions in a similar way...

Nope. Conventions.

Spells are bolded, Abilities are underlined.
Super Abilities are both.

Alpha and Omega
Level 2
-I am the end of all things. Cerys can create a bubble of space that annihilates existence. Everything within 20 metres take 8 damage every turn. Damage doubles every turn spent inside the barrier.

If bolded only denotes 'spell' then Rukia pointing out that it is bolded so specifically is a giant fake out. It has to be something more than just that.

I think this was meant in another way; if it was not bolded, people could just mistake it for someone misspelling the word.
Besides, Rukia stated before that not everything they tell us is something we do not know already.

Edit: If you really insist on a specific meaning, then it just means that it does not just halt the regular thinks such as mass, but also energy floating around.
(Might be able to turn it into a shield... hm)

That also makes no sense though? The word isn't misspelled...

I do not know why no one got the idea to coordinate a swarm of helicopters against the Megatherium before
They are actually incredibly stealthy and can dodge amazingly.
You just cheated by following it's body heat and exploding every avenue it could have dodged to.

Even the malleability of it all will not allow this, I think.
No, it will not.

I would prefer to only use XP on things that can't be trained.
This attitude is going to hurt you in the long run.

[X] EXP Plan Stop Right There!

@Rukia, is high speed combat available for purchase or do we require some more training? I ask because tracking the birdie that can go at least at the first levels of HS combat could be useful in this situation and if so should ideally be in the XP spending plan.

So do I, but especially the first few levels are cheap and we can get a quick leap out of them. So until we get to actually train our Spells and Abilities, we should take those levels.
The only high-cost Item is A&O: The Hungering Void anyway, which is not as useful just yet. I do not count the other one because we need Ignition Aura at a far higher level first.

and if so should ideally be in the XP spending plan.
There is no EXP spending plan but mine, which no one but me has voted for so far. Sinarblood will not add one, either.
Aside from that, we have not yet done anything to train for HSC; the requirement is not struck through, so we need to train.

By the way, what did we get those for?

This Update consisted of us driving to another place, destroying a little monster (which gave us 1 EXP), then having dinner and driving to the next place on the next day (should be Sunday?) as well as noticing the mountain is hot.

So either we got these for helping out, or for the mountain.
My bet is on the latter, though, seeing that it is most likely a magical creature.

Speaking of which, @Sinarblood
As for the mountain, though... maybe add a line about trying to influence its temperature? If it is a magical creature and not a natural occurence, Cerys can not do anything to it and knows that it is actually alive.

You have yet to say anything to this.

I also thought about your argument some more... and realised that while I had the most optimistic view on it, you adopted the most pessimistic.
It is as likely for nothing in particular to happen; maybe people would just take it as a habit for Magical Girls to recount their phrase when meeting a worthy opponent or something like that.

Additionally, I have an idea for another Omake. Stay tuned.

Just saw this:
At level 15 it upgrades to Total Lockdown.

Niiiice.

Thanks for the confirmation, too bad but oh well... As for the XP plan:

[] EXP Plan Stop Right There!

Preventing it from moving is likely the best way to get an advantage.

Yes, this is indeed nice.
With how you separated your vote however, you are now voting only for the EXP Plan. Not that it matters much, considering that basically everyone is voting for Sinarblood anyway.

Karen's Character Sheet is lonely without them there to keep it company!

Canon Omake: A Wolf's Bad Day
Because the big wolf had too little screentime for my liking.
Omake: A Wolf's Bad Day

She had been out on the hunt when she sensed it. A small trace of magic in the air, mixed with the scent of human.
The little things sometimes came to her forest, wandering around. She let some be, when she was not hungry. Not that there was much on most of them to eat anyway, but she had to make do with what she could find.

The wolf did not openly react to the sensation, though; she knew better than to show whoever was following her that she noticed.
She continued to move through the forest that was her home, keeping her keen senses on the one following her; it was much slower than she was, but never lost her track... she needed to be careful.

That was why she soon took up a good hiding spot amidst a group of wide trees, eyes searching for where the sensation was strongest.

...
In the sky?
Humans could not fly, but... weird.

It stayed still, just like she did. Was it waiting for her to make the first move? Maybe waiting for her to fall asleep... this would make for a good trap; it had to come down eventually, so the wolf would just wait it out and strike at a good time.

Then she could feel it, for but a moment... a surge of magic so strong...
Her instincts screamed and the wolf got up, running for safety in an instant.

(Human???: +90 Thermal Spear, +20 Dice, +42 Spell Boost = 152 Total Damage
152 x 40 = 6080 Total Damage

The Wolf: +70 Base Resilience, +7 Dice, +500 Very Fast, +100 Prepared to dodge = 677 Total Reduction

5403 Total End Damage
Large: 25% Damage Reduction

4052 Final End Damage

The Wolf : 800 - 4052 = -3252)

Only the fire was faster; she could feel the heat on her back a moment before it hit her directly, burning away the white fur and charring the flesh below black, then turning it to ash.

In this one moment, before her death, the wolf realised.
This was not just a human.
This was definitely a human.
She underestimated them.

And most of all, the wolf understood one thing.

A new apex predator had emerged.

Her realisation became ash and void together with her.

-[X] The sky is not your domain— it rules the storm and flies faster than you do.
--[X] Prepare a plasma sphere, or more if you are confident in your ability to move with them, or multiple thermal spears if you are not and use halt on it before attacking with them all.
--[X] Use the water against it- Form ice around it's body to drag it down. Keep at it until it has neutralized your ability to do this or you have dragged it down to earth through sheer weight.
--[X] Use the ice thermal Spear to hit it with freeze.
--[X] Keep up fire around its head to blind it
--[X] Use the water from the storm to make blocks of ice in the direction it is flying so that it has to dodge or stop. If it tries to break through the ice, use halt on the ice.
--[X] stay a good distance lower than it, you'd rather not be hit with lightning from the storm if you can help it, and it going closer to the earth only helps you.
--[X] If it starts to build up speed despite all these measures use halt to break that momentum.
--[X] Use ice to try to limit its ability to fly away, you must not let it flee.
--[X] Attack with thermal Spears or Plasma Spheres whenever you get a good oppurtunity. Try to take it down fast.
--[X] Try not to damage the mountain in any way, you don't want to deal with whatever is making it so hot.
---[X] If all else fails call in the air strike, but inform them to not shoot in such a way that a miss could hit the mountain.

Coffee isn't with me today...

Just realized something.

@Sinarblood, about the calling the air support: Air-Air missiles are either radar-guided or infrared guided. Why not ask the air support to be with an infrared loadout and try to tag the bird with fire and heat if it tries to run away and make it basically unmissable? Basically acting as a spotter for the air strike. Besides those missiles have a really long range and should be capable of being shot outside of the storm (being the product of the Thunderbird it should be smaller than a traditional storm), so if you wanted to you could probably even use it as an opening move in your plan to knock it down or as a way to keep it close to the ground due to threat of being sniped by the missiles. Fighters shouldn't have problems having at least 3-4 salvos to use either way so multiple uses shouldn't be a problem.

So... for some reason, my EXP Plan does not show up on the tally.
I will post it again and see if that does anything.

[X] EXP Plan Stop Right There!
-[X] Halt to Lv 3 (45 EXP)

I am still using the soft stats, but I decided that they really didn't add much by leaving them where they were. So I removed them.

Also, +10xp for the Omake.

Fighters shouldn't have problems having at least 3-4 salvos to use either way so multiple uses shouldn't be a problem.
Can confirm, four per fighter.

And while Thermal Spear now has the right stats, it is still noted as Level 1.
Fixed.

Havent you heard...Karen IS the world! Karen is apparently Gaia in disguise i guess.

@Rukia Does Cerys use magic when she's using Flight?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact we're not using magic for our thermokinesis. The only cost we've seen so far is mental strain... Maybe there is a cost somewhere we're not seeing?

Another question @Rukia, if Cerys were to empty her magical reservoir, would she still be able to use her thermokinesis?
