Because it emphasizes hierarchy, House Targaryen's dominance, and Dorne's subordination, and thus will hopefully convince Tarly that we intend not to be overmastered by the wily Martell. Emphasizing the courtesy due a defeated opponent cuts against the idea of domination and subordination; a knight who yields in the lists is still a social equal, roughly speaking, and a foe who surrenders on the battlefield is still due certain rights. But dragons do what they like. For those voting for the "My children will rule Dorne in time and they will be Dragons. Through blood, Dorne will be conquered." Tarly option, can you explain why you think this argument would ever sway Tarly? I
And even if Qoren gives us terms that we like, but Raylon doesn't, then from Raylon's perspective Dorne didn't really bow and bend, they ran circles around the royal family. Just as he warned us they would. You guys fail to consider that a lot of people in the thread don't really wanna conquer Dorne, so presenting Tarly a stance that either Qoren gives us good marriage terms or we obliterate Dorne, would put us in a very awkward position if we don't like marriage terms offered.
Tarly hope of strong terms make me think about what terms would be best to accept, reject, and demand.
Agree 100%. For light consideration, we can probably push on the Prince title though. There is a loophole that may allow us to bestow Lord Paramount of Dorne title over Prince of Dorne one.So, yeah. Let Dorne have the same autonomy in canon, that did work out after all.
Counterpoint: "Prince of Dorne" sounds coolFor light consideration, we can probably push on the Prince title though.
That would cut into our own flesh, though. After all, we would get that title. As a consort, but still.Agree 100%. For light consideration, we can probably push on the Prince title though. There is a loophole that may allow us to bestow Lord Paramount of Dorne title over Prince of Dorne one.
Aegon I bestowed Lord Paramount to Tully, Baratheon, and Tyrell all non-Kingdom house. With Dorne being a Principality maybe we can pull a technicality here.![]()
@Teen Spirit just a thing, since talking with Laena Velaryon while Training with Syrax unlocked a special interaction...
Will we have some special interactions as well if we pick talking with Laena and Sneak out and Explore the City or Fly to Harrenhal?
Teen Spirit confirmed it...Did I miss an update? It makes sense training with Syrax while talking with Laena, biggest dragon nerd around would synergize but I don't see anything specifically confirming it?
IT is assume by the combo of talking with Laena and training with Syrax.
I think you're overstating things, TS was only confirming that taking the two options together meant Rhaenyra's convo with Laena would be on dragonback, not that it would be a "special interaction," whatever that is.
Hey, that would be awesome but considering Vaghar's attitude in the show is basically "I am too old for this shit" I doubt it...I am prepared to eat crow if it turns out Vhagar and Syrax get to have cute bonding moments.
Well, Laena is quite a rebellious firecracker at this point in time, so we could quickly become fast friends with her. If we become friends with her, I can totally see her joining us in sneaking around King's Landing... Ideally, we would bring Alicent around but since we choose against it the previous turn that door is closed to us for now.Imo, Laena is really unlikely to Fly to Harrenhal (what would she even do there?) since she's here with Vhagar as an unsubtle threat. For Sneaking Out, we don't know her that well yet, I believe Rhaenyra would only pick someone she's familiar with, if she picks anyone for company. But flying together for training and not far from KL makes perfect sense as a conversation starter (or the other way around).
