I am undecided on Laena vote.

In other hand now that we locked in a promise to bargain with Otto as soon as possible. I think we need a plan on how to approach him. As rushing to directly bargain is imo the worst approach. We do not know both what we can give and what Otto want.

We shouldn't just jump at a potential opportunity to kill Mellos.
Why assume our first resort is murder? We have many other options. It does seem that we need to have a double-barreled Very Serious Talk with Otto, however, since one of those options is to convince him to speak with the King about seeking alternative treatments to Mellos's, a thing he pointedly refused to do for Orwyle (he spoke with Mellos himself, obviously to no avail). The second barrel is, of course, about Alicent. And if we're making two big asks, we had better have a lot to offer. What might work out for the best is if Qoren comes back with an unacceptable counteroffer, but I wouldn't count on it.

And as for the obligatory eating of crow. . .

[X] Talk About Dragons

Ser Raylon Tarly Has Accepted Your Arguement
Ok very glad this has worked and we don't have another "Ser Criston Cole" scenario here...
That was going to be an uncomfortable conversation, but one you needed to have.
Very much so...

We are kind of an AP hell scenario despite finishing with the marriage thingy very soon, but we may want to talk to Gwayne next turn to try to get some extra help with our approach to Otto...
A dragon that large should not be able to sneak up on someone but one moment you and Syrax were flying above King's Landing and the next, Vhagar had appeared out of a cloud bank above you, her great wings casting a shadow over you and much of the city below.
It is funny how Vaghar, despite being the most MASSIVE dragon dragon alive, she still moves and flies as quietly as a couple of eels through butter, which she used extremely effectively in the series to land devastating sneak attacks from behind (or under) other dragons.
It seems like Granny Vaghar decided to multiclass as a rogue in her youth...
There had to be something you could if it really was this bad. Maybe you could speak to the Grand Maester in person. Orwyle said it wouldn't work, but Orwyle seemed a coward. Maybe Alys Rivers could help you. It seemed an insane prospect, but she seemed to know something of medicine and Orwyle did mention it was an unconventional illness. Perhaps an outside source was what was needed.

There had to something you could do. You couldn't just accept that this was how it was going to be. There had to be some way you could help your father.

There just had to be.
OK, we fly to Harrenhall next turn, and we make sure to talk with the Grand Maester ASAP...

Why assume our first resort is murder? We have many other options.
Yeah, I mean going straight to murder even before having a firm talk to him is excessive...

Maybe this Alien is right and we humans are too inherently violent to join the League of Sapient Species...

We could also, I suppose, appeal to Viserys directly. Us, Alys, and Johanna together might sway him. . .

It'd be an AP hell putting such a front together though.
You are facing a distinct challenge in convicing Viserys and Johanna that Mellos is wrong because he's a very well experinced Maester. Orwyle is also great in the field but Mellos has been forging links since before Orwyle was born which gives Mellos words a whole lot of weight.

Yeah that is a serious problem...

By the way @Teen Spirit, can you tell us why Viserys' sickness is advancing so quickly?

In episode 5, just before the 10-year time skip, Raehanyra was 19 years old (two more years than now), and Viserys still had both hands in working condition, and here he could lose an arm before we hit 18.

Might it have something to do with the extra Stress we've caused him over, and since returning from, our Progress?

Hmm, we're not much ahead. Rhaenyra's wedding in show canon happened in 116 AC, a year from the current date. Viserys collapsed at the Wedding so I'm assuming he lost the arm not long after that.

So we're like a year early with the illness and that is due to combo of Rhaenyra leaving while Viserys emotionally needed her a lot more than canon, stress from the duel at the Eyrie, stress from the Tourney and stress from Rhaenyra telling him about her vision.

OTOH, unlike Canon Rhaenyra at 17 we still have a very warm relationship with him, we get along pretty well with the Queen, and we are taking our responsibilities (including marriage) very seriously...

So I dare to say that he should be in a significantly better place mentally than he was in canon at this point in time, despite the whole tourney and Knighthood thingy.

We also insist on putting ourselves at risk (from his perspective, mind you; I don't think anything we've done has actually had any chance of directly harming us except the tourney), going around yeeting ourselves into Situations and making enemies. His relationship with us is warm because of what we did (talk to him and empathize with his early), not because we stopped being the kind of child who gives their parents grey hair or anything.

[X] About her bond with Vhagar and any Changes this bond brought

So, I do have my reasons for this write in, but let me defend it first.

1. I don't think it's too Meta, it's a natural extension of their already existing conversation

2. If I'm wrong in my reasoning, then this write in would still fulfill the primary function of the currently popular choice, [] Talk about Dragons, it will allow us to bond with Laena.

I am aware that I am potentially sacrificing a boost to the gain we will get from the dragon riding, but I've noticed in real life, that people in general respond well when your showing interest in a topic about themselves, that they personally brought up, so it might even, if my headcanon is completely wrong, serve the intended social function better than the general question about dragons.

Anyways, here is my reasoning:

Doing this might be a bit of a shot in the dark, but I believe it might help with the our investigation into Viserys' physical health, because I also believe that Viserys' illness is at least partially a consequence of his dragon dying.

In Aenys we saw how bonding with a dragon can positively influence your physical health.
In Daenerys' bonding with her three dragons, we saw how bonding with a dragon can positively influence your mental health.
In Baela loosing Moondancer and Daenerys loosing Viserion, we saw how loosing your dragon can negatively influence your mental health.

I am proposing that the death of your bonded dragon can also negatively influence your physical health.

So the death of his dragon might not have "only" manifested itself in Viserys becoming more indecisive, but it might also have worsened his health enough to allow the disease that would kill him to wreck havoc.

In truth, I mostly have this headcanon, because it makes narrative sense. I believe that, when Balerion and Aemma died, partially Viserys died with them and if my theory is correct, that would just be metaphorically true, he would have literally started dying with their deaths.

TL;DR: I think the reason Viserys is sick, is partially magical in nature and connected to his dragon. If I'm right about that, Rhaenyra could get a hint concerning that here.

[x] Ask about Life on Driftmark
[X] About her bond with Vhagar and any Changes this bond brought

I prefer to ask about laena. I'm curious about the Velyarons and this seems like a neutral choice for that.

After pondering about Laena. I think talking directly about Marriage can be a great option as the most thing we wanted in regard to Laena is she is not marrying Daemon and we are already cordial may be can brought it up. We bringing up Rhea Royce previously and internally thinking about asshole Daemon may segue greatly to trash talking Daemon. Also she may sympathize with us.
[X] Ask if there's been any talk of Marriage Recently and how she feels about it?

Thinking about Rhea Royce why not introduce our friend to each other? And expand Laena Horizon on women's possible path our friends have taken. Teen spirit is this write-in valid?

[X] Write-in (Subject to QM Approval) Talk about our allies and friends Rhea Royce, Jeyne Arryn, and Jessamin Redfort as example of differing women path for freedom in this world.

MY hold up is how do you organically bring that up without Rhaenyra just suddenly deciding to teach Laena about Feminism.

I would accept something like "Ask Laena about any friends she made on Driftmark"

I am unsure if headbutting straight at the issue is the best route here, since Orwyle might have miscalculated ( to which degree remains a mystery). My idea was basically at the beginning just let Rhaenyra shares her concerns with Johanna, if Viserys decline is as fast as Orwyle says, with Rhaenyra early warning and the risk of loosing her husband I believe Johanna with her personality would take matters on her own hands and team up with Nyra.

Though with the stress and her personality I don't think Nyra wouldn't go simple talk with Viserys or Mellos at first opportunity.

Even if shuting up and trying to stay unnoticed, (taking your critique of another write-in and silence on mine as implicit approval) might be the smart path here, I feel like that is too underhanded for the Princess Dragon Knight Quest.

So like, I didn't know and still don't know how the whole write-in thing is actually supposed to function, so I'm just going to ask directly:

Teen Spirit, does my Dragonbond write-in pass the vibe check?
