[X] [Defiant] Tell her that she is right and that you are in a relationship with Alicent. She'll quietly accept this, or she will learn why men fear the fury of a dragon.
if she hurts Alicent, there is nowhere she can hide, no castle she can garrison, no armies she can raise that can keep her where we can't reach her.
Secondly, @Teen Spirit you legitimately made my jaw drop at the gym, nearly tripped on the treadmill. Your quest is one of the best I've ever read, and my eyes are glued to this. Platinum plated kudos for this, and the shock on my face. Keep up the incredible work.

Yes, but this Laena has much more leverage than OTL Laena and also for all his ambition i doubt that Corlys would let his beloved daughter marry someone he deems unworthy. Like, one thing is marrying his daughter to the king, the other is marrying his daughter to other nobles.
To be fair, he's almost certainly going to marry Laena to someone. Daemon has his problems, but whether he's truly unworthy of Laena's hand in Corlys' own mind is something I'm not so sure of.
I agree, i think it is unlikely Daemon will ever let go of his ambition but i think that he can be directed to fight the Westerlings first. If we are lucky he will kill them and die in the fight. He dies a hero and we live without needing to commit kinslaying.
In the aftermath of a successful Rhaenyra-ist civil war against the Westerling-ist faction, I am fairly sure that there wouldn't be enough support left for Daemon to mount an effective challenge. Even if he is married to Laena, I doubt Corlys would gamble on backing him.
Especially since in the aftermath of that war it's increasingly likely that Rhaenyra's surviving children would be of age to become dragonriders, and Rhaenys and her kids are unlikely to want to go up against Rhaenyra or her kids, making the nominal Velaryon dragon advantage less and less relevant.
If we can keep Daemon well fed with appreciation and rewards, he may very well decide to accept 'not being king' as preferable to a war he's unlikely to win.

Daemon is an erratically violent, prideful and arrogant man who's also hostile to Rhaenyra specifically because of the many ways she's poked him in his sensitive ego. There is not a way for her to pacify him. Viserys, his literally most favorite person in the world, could not stop him from doing wild shit, Rhaenyra stands no chance.

I would say that he has a better chance than the majority of the other man in westeros. The Velaryons know him, he himself is a man of a certain status and prominence that is acceptable. The trickier thing for him would be wooing Laena, who in this context has much more option, is not in a hurry to marry and is likely much more confident than Cannon Laena, who even in that unfavorable situation was never described as meek. I don´t know if his ego would survive an even more confident and bold Laena.
If he does not marry Laena, he might search for a marriage in foreign lands, namely Volantis because he is a big Valyrian supremacist. I just don´t see him marring any Andal woman.

Yeah he did flip his shit when in canon he found out he wasn't told the super secret prophecy told to all heirs. He couldn't confront Visery to settle for wringing canon Rhaenyra's neck. He isn't very reasonable when Visery is alive he especially isn't going to be when he's dead. He should be under the category sword without a hilt.

I don't think we'll hit either target with Daemon. But I do think we'll hit the second target with Corlys post-Johanna victory, if his options are "put Daemon who is married to a Velaryon on the throne, against the objections of the entire realm and several dragons" and "put our grandchild who is married to a Velaryon on the throne, without having to kill anybody".
And without the Velaryons, Daemon is just one guy with a dragon. Scary to most people, but not to a queen with multiple dragons. Best case scenario is he sees the writing on the wall. Worst case scenario is he gets Essosi backing and we have to burn the Triarchy's fleet after killing Daemon.
You couldn't help but grin broadly as any reservations within you melted away. The sight caught Johanna off guard, the sneer on her face faltering.
"You know what? I confess. You're right," you declared.
"I don't understand," the Westerling queen stared at you in confusion.
"Your 'concerns' regarding my interests are indeed largely correct. I don't have interest in children of course," you clarified as you stared down at the Queen, "and I don't share my cousin's distaste for the male form either, but I do find many women to be very attractive. In fact, I've recently fallen very much in love with a woman and hold her quite close to my heart. The two of us greatly enjoy each other's company."
Johanna's eyes went wide with confusion.
"Why are you telling me this?!" Johanna asked with bewilderment. "Why would you confess such a vulgar sin?!"
You leaned forward sharply, causing the queen to jerk back in surprise.
"Because there's nothing you can do about it, you hateful idiot," you said with sneering grin. "Go ahead. Tell my father! He won't care. My uncle? He would care even less. The Hand of the King? He already knows. The Small Council? Besides your father and the Lannister, why would they care? I'm already set to be wed. You could spread rumors about me, but let me ask you, what are the people here going to find more interesting to talk about? That the crown princess likes to take women to her bed or that the queen's children are deformed because she made a dea-"
You caught the queen's hand just as she was about to smack you across the face. To her credit she had fair strength, especially for someone still recovering from giving birth, but it was nothing compared to your iron grip.
You stood there for a moment, smiling as you watched Johanna struggle in vain against you before you easily forced her hand back down onto the bed.
"My family has been marrying brother to sister for generations!" you mocked. "Did you really think my father would be scandalized by something as trivial as my interest in women?"
"How dare-" Johanna's words died in her throat as she realized the truth of your words.
"You've lost, step-mother," You turned the word into an insult. "My father has confirmed my status as heir and no slander will change that."
You let go of her hand.
"Get out!" Johanna ordered. "I never want to see you in this room or near my children ever again!"
"Fine by me," you said with a grin as you left.
As you walked through the halls of the Red Keep, you felt some of the tension melting from your shoulders. You were still angry that this had happened at all, but it felt good to put that arrogant queen in her place. The small council meeting and your fight with Johanna had shown you new sides to yourself. You had been angry. Not just a brief fury like back in the Vale. This had been a sustained rage erupting out of you like so much dragonfire. It felt good to say what you felt and watch Tyland sink into his seat, to just scream your rage at Johanna instead of having to play nice.
You also couldn't deny that you got mean with Johanna. You should have felt guilty about throwing the rumors back to her face, but you were having a hard time right now really feeling any sort of regret. It felt good to hit back and watch someone squirm. To see the Queen who had just tried to take your inheritance from you just sit there, completely powerless against you. It felt good, it felt right and just.
-6 Stress
Relationship with Johanna Westerling Massively Downgraded
New Status: Sworn Rival
Johanna will hinder any efforts to see Helaena, Aelora, and Aegon for the foreseeable future.
Which emotion does Rhaenyra lean into?
[] [Aftermath] The Rigtheous Anger Boiling Within (Gain Trait: Wrath)
Wrath
The blood of dragons is said to flow hot among many of your family and you are no exception. You are prone to anger when slighted or threatened and while you can swallow these feelings, it is relieving to let them run now and then. High stress will more often lead to anger, but allow stress reduction by letting it out.
[] [Aftermath] The Desire to Strike Back At Your Enemies (Gain Trait: Vindictive)
Vindictive
You have been belittled and chided for who you are and how you act since you were a child, and you take pride in having given as good as you got. It doesn't matter if it is a verbal or physical challenge, you will always make sure to get even with you enemies. More likely to carry grudges over insults or opposition, but can relieve stress by acting against your rivals and enemies.
[] [Aftermath] Feel Ashamed By Both and Try to Do Better
The remaining days before you left for Dragonstone were awkward and tense. Those aligned with the Westerlings and Lannister were quick to avoid you or go to even greater efforts to pretend you did not exist. Even the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard seemed to be avoiding you. As for your father, whatever anger and frustration he had for your behavior in the Small Council was equaled if not surpassed by his anger and frustration with Johanna and her father. It seemed the queen had been the one to suggest to her father they should push Aegon's claim that day, something the king simply did not understand. He had never so much as talked of replacing you to his wife, so he was left wondering why she assumed so much.
If Johanna mentioned anything of your argument to your father, he said nothing of it, nor did Daemon for that matter. And you did not hear any particular rumors of note about you and Alicent either. It seemed you had been entirely correct, there was nothing Johanna could do about your relationship with your lady. While this brought you a good deal of comfort, you could not help but still feel uneasy. Someone had spied on the two of you in the Godswood and reported back to the Queen, and you had no idea how or who had done it. It was a concern, but one that would have to wait until your return.
The day you, Alicent, and Ser Raylon departed aboard the Queen Aemma was a thankfully a clear one, allowing you enjoy sailing aboard your own vessel even in the cold weather. You found the experience quite enjoyable. The Queen Aemma may have started life as purely a warship, but Isembard had put a great effort into making it comfortable. The ship was captained by a man named Thorren, a thin but strong older man from White Harbor who apparently had been trading with the Gulltown Arryns for years. He was joined by his daughter Mira, a stout woman about your age who seemed very impressed with your preformance in the Great Northern Tourney.
The good weather held as you arrived on Dragonstone. You smelled it long before you saw the island, salt air mixed with the constant note of smoke and brimstone, a smell you found agreeable but Alicent and Ser Raylon, particularly the former, found off-putting. Thankfully, they both would become used to it in the days to come.
The island was a foreboding sight from the deck of the ship. The Dragonmount volcano dominated much of what you saw, pale grey steam rising from numerous vents along it's side. At base of the volcano lay the castle upon which the island was named. Your castle you reminded yourself. You were the ruling liege of this castle and the entire island.
Various stone dragons and great stone wings crowned every part of the castle. The dragon imagery dominated the entire structure. Entrances were shaped like dragon mouths, stairways made to resemble dragon tails, dragon claws held torches. Between the unyielding draconic designs and the central citadel of the whole castle being made of stone so dark it was nearly black, you had to imagine the whole castle looked deeply grim to anyone not a Targaryen. If Alicent had any complaints though, she said nothing, seemingly eager to just have some time with you.
It wasn't all sulfur and dragons though. You knew the castle had it's own gardens. There were rolling fields of grass and wildflowers once you got past the volcano. While the island never became truly warm, not even in the heights of summer, it also took a long time to bow to the pressure of winter, and there was little snow to be found anywhere. Instead, you were greeted by a busy fishing village that still was stuck in late fall.
Syrax flew overhead as you pulled into port. There was a distinct eagerness to her roar as she flew by and her call greeted by the roar of another dragon, which one you could not say though.
Most of the castle's garrison was there to greet you upon your arrival. It was not a large group. some two hundred men at arms, half as many crossbowmen and maybe twenty knights, but these were your men. Men who swore to directly serve you as the Princess of Dragonstone. It was strange to realize. This castle was your property and it's people all had sworn to serve you and you alone.
Two men stood at the front of the crowd, waiting to greet you. The first was Ser Josua Bar Emmon, heir to Sharp Point. Ser Josua had been acting as castellan, ruling the castle in your name since the recent and unexpected death of the previous one from greyscale on a trip some two months ago. While the Bar Emmon didn't strike an impressive figure for a knight, you had heard he was something of a diplomat who understood the politics of the Crownlands quite well.
The man next to him was Maester Gerardys, sworn Maester of the castle. From your understanding he had been serving Dragonstone for roughly two years now. Your father had said that he was well known for his skills at healing, which made you wonder very much why the late Grand Maester Mellos had refused his help, but judging by the number of Valyrian steel links in his chain, Gerardys had some considerable interest in the higher mysteries as well.
Gerardys greeted you warmly as you approached, welcoming you home.
Officially, you were here for the next few months to better learn how to rule, though you rather doubted anyone beyond maybe Lord Strong actually expected you to do that. Most at court probably figured this trip was your excuse to get away from Queen Johanna and her new son.
Only you and Alicent knew the full truth. You had wanted alone time with her and you had it, three months together on Dragonstone, an island sworn to you, populated largely by shepherds and fisherman who were quite used to centuries of Targaryen rule and all it's quirks. Your secrets would be well kept here. Even with Driftmark you felt secure. The Sea Snake wasn't a friend, but he wasn't an enemy of yours or an ally of Johanna either. And considering Laenor's own interests, you doubted House Velyaron had any desire to spread rumors.
For the next three months you were more free than you ever had been in your life, a prospect that both excited and terrified you.
Fourth Season, 115 AC
Two Free Actions: Free Action allows to make additional Conversations or Action per turn (For example 3 Conversations and 3 Actions, or 4 Conversations and 2 Actions). However, using bothon Actions creates Stress from Rhaenyra being overworked and further reduces the effectiveness of Relaxing.
Each turn is 3 months, though this may change as the quest goes on. You can pick either from the options below for your tasks or use write-in actions after QM approval. Please use plan voting for turn votes.
No Cost Actions are Actions that can be taken freely no matter how many actions have already been taken.
Conversations (Pick Two)
[] [Conversation] Speak with Alicent Hightower (Mandatory)
You had promised Alicent time alone together away from the prying eyes of the Red Keep and you delivered. Dragonstone was yours for the rest of the year. The two of you had time enough to do anything you wanted. There was just one thing that complicated matters, you were in love in Alicent. You wanted more than just a romantic friendship where the two of you acted the knight and lady, you wanted the kind of love story bards would write about. You wanted to share your days together and grow old with her. You needed to tell her how you felt though. You wanted to desperately to do nothing more, but the prospect also terrified you.
-What Do you Do Together (Pick Two)
-[] Have a Picnic in the Dragonstone Gardens
-[] Ride Horses across the Island
-[] Go Shopping Together in the Markets of Driftmark
-[] Introduce Her to Syrax
-[] Spend time in the Dragonstone Sept
-[] Play Your Harp for Her Privately
-[] Write-in (Subject to QM Approval
[] [Conversation] Speak with Lord Corlys Velaryon
Between piracy troubles in the Stepstones and Tyland Lannister backing Johanna, you find yourself strangely wishing the Sea Snake was Master of Ships again. You very much doubt you can convince him to return so easily, but with Driftmark so close, particularly on dragonback, it might be good to speak with him, ease the tenisons between your houses and perhaps talk matters of piracy in his newly won islands.
[] [Conversation] Speak with Princess Rhaenys Targaryen
The queen has a son now and you remain heir. You have proven the Princess wrong, but it is not as comforting as you had hopped. Many lords at court and certainly in the realm at large now want Aegon as king. Perhaps it would do good to speak with Rhaenys of your fustrations, and perhaps try to ease the tenisons your last conversation created.
[] [Conversation] Speak with Lady Laena Velaryon
There are few people around who share your love of dragons, and none with as much passion Laena. While she has no desire to become a knight, the two of you are more alike then one might thing, equally bold and you both know what you want. What better time to enjoy her company then now
[] [Conversation] Speak with Laenor Velaryon
You feel like you understand Laenor better than most, loving someone that society says you shouldn't. That bit of common ground could be used to rebuild things between you. You haven't really spoken in years and as a dragonrider and the future Lord of the Tides, you really should get to know him better
[] [Conversation] Speak with Ser Raylon Tarly
While Johanna's efforts have failed, you very much doubt the Queen has given up. Between her stubbornness and those visions of Harrenhal that won't leave your dreams, war seems unavoidable, if distant. Perhaps it might do well to discuss how you should prepare with your sworn shield.
[] [Conversation] Speak With Ser Josua Bar Emmon
While the heir of Sharp Point has only been Castellan of Dragonstone for a brief while, he knows the Island decently well. More important he has a good grasp of Crownland politics, perhaps it might be good to speak to him, learn where you stand in the eyes of the lord surrounding King's Landing.
[] [Conversation] Speak With Maester Gerardys
It was clear from even a brief conversation with the man that Maester Geradys had a keen interest in Valyrian history in general, and House Targaryen in specific. Indeed, it seems he had specifically requested serving on Dragonstone, a rarity for one of the Citadel. It would be interesting to talk to someone who while not being Valyrian themselves, was knowledgable and interested in your history.
[] [Conversation] Write To Lady Jeyne Arryn
Johanna has produced a son and now two men threaten your inhertiance. As a woman who has so recently dealt with people trying to claim her throne, few in the realm understand your fears and worries better than the Lady of the Vale.
[] [Conversation] Write-in
Subject to QM approval, has to have a reasonable chance of being in King's Landing.
Actions (Pick Two)
[] [Action] Relax
Between Johanna's son, fighting at court, your upcoming wedding and the stress that's been building inside you, there's a lot on your mind. You came to Dragonstone in part to Relax, perhaps you should do as such.
[] [Action] Investigate the Death of King Aenys
Most Maesters and other writers agree that Queen Visenya had poisoned her nephew, King Aenys, to allow her own son to take the throne. But you have already seen how much those same authors were willing to ignore Visenya's contributions and slander her already. Perhaps this is simply another case of slander. If you could prove that, it could improve Queen Visenya's reputation considerably and make a stronger argument for your own eventual rule. On Dragonstone you have access to records of Aenys' reign, perhaps you might find some from his last weeks and days detailing what happened to him.
[] [Action] Study Valyrian History
While your father isn't here, forcing you to study by yourself, you do have access to a much older archive of Valyrian history here then you did back in the capital.
[] [Action] Train
With few fighters of note beyond yourself and Ser Raylon, it feels rather pointless to try and push yourself beyond your normal training here on Dragonstone
[] [Action] Train with Syrax
What better time to fly with your dragon than on Dragonstone? Wide Open Skies and Syrax gets to enjoy the freedom and warmth of the Dragonmount, beyond the cold of winter, conditions are just about perfect.
[] [Action] Hold Court
You are nominally here to learn how to rule, while few would think lesser for you for neglecting that duty, it has been quite a bit since you actually worked on your training with Lord Strong. Perhaps holding court on Dragonstone would give you a chance to show people what you've learned. While most matters on Dragonstone were trivial, largely disputes between shepherds over grazing and such, Bar Emmon has said there are number of issues that had arisen shortly before you arrived that he could have you handle if you wish. (Counts as Study Law)
[] [Action] Figure Out How to Improve your Knowledge of Warcraft
As Lord Strong had pointed out, few could deny you were a skilled fighter, but you knew next to nothing about waging war, about tactics and strategy. And even now, your father and your tutors seem loathe to train you on the subject. There had to be a way for you to learn, to not just fight in combat, but one day lead men into battle if you must.
[] [Action] Work on Acquiring a Squire
You are a knight. A fully anointed knight. And while you were never a squire yourself, not formally anyways, there was nothing saying you could not have a squire of your own. A squire would give you a chance to both pass on what you've learned, and show the realm that your knighthood was more than just a title.
[] [Action] Fly to Harrenhal
There was little you could learn about Valyrian magic or prophecies at Harrenhal, but perhaps another visit would help you better understand the cursed castle and whatever foul magic clings to it. And Alys River would be there. Alys, who knew far more about the history and magic of Harrenhal then anyone should. You also couldn't help but wonder if Alys might be able to help your father, or even provide insight you could use against Daemon. She did seemed to have a way of knowing things she shouldn't, perhaps you could use that to your advantage. With Aegon being born with hair of white-gold, the prophecies seemed more true than ever. And since you were on Dragonstone, few if any in King's Landing would even know if you made a brief visit to Harrenhal.
[] [Action] Study
There is always room to improve your education. Particularly since you've been neglecting your law studies as of late. -[] Study Law
-[] Study Other Topics
[] [Action] Work on Your Poetry
Your poetry so far has not been great, but your travels, particularly the Great Northern Tourney and that moment at the end with Alicent, have given you a great deal of inspiration to work with.
[] [Action] Harp Practice
You've gotten quite good at the Harp, so much so that Alicent thinks you should play for the court or a crowd. While Dragonstone really lacks much of a audience to make playing for the court there worth while, you Spicetown on Driftmark is quite big, you could attract a fair audience if you just sat down on the street corner and started playing. Then again, you weren't sure if you were ready for that yet.
-Who Do You Play For (Pick One)
-[] Play for the People of Spicetown.
-[] Keep Practicing in Private.
[] [Action] Decide What to Do With Your Tourney Winnings
In the grand scheme of your holdings, your tourney winnings were very modest indeed. But they were your winnings, coin you earned through your deeds alone. And a decent amount of coins at that. With the markets of Hull and Spicetown so close, there was quite a lot to spend it on. You could also pick up a gift for Qoren while on Driftmark, using Dragonstone Treasury of course.
[] [No Cost Action] Design Personal Heraldry
While not every member of your house has their own personal heraldry, it feels fitting for you to make one of your own considering your status as heir, particularly now that you are set to be married. Personal Heraldry is important. It will be what you carry on your shield when you enter a tourney and it will be the banner your men march under in times of war.
[] (Action) Write-in
Subject to QM approval QM's Notes: So the traits, special thanks to @Azel for writing them, are something that arose due to a combination of Aegon being born and general train of anger that started from Rhaenyra's conversation with Rhaenys, having the "The realm will never accept you as Queen talk" not long before Aegon was born will have that effect. I would advise seriously considering taking them as they do offer major stress relief and traits you might get from a stress break are distinctly more negative for Rhaenyra.
@Teen Spirit does this mean our relation will be easier to degrade with the easy holding grudge? Thank you. This is my initial plan. Thought and suggestion? I added Josua to learn more about local and near situation seems to synergize. Nicely we can go to market along with Alicent.

"I have no idea why the wife I have repeatedly impregnated assumed I did it because I wanted a male heir." Says local man, ignoring the fact that producing a male heir has been the unstated purpose of any and all marriages between the local nobility since a long ass time.
quickly lets find a female squire surely nothing can go wrong/jk
more seriously any squire can wait for a bit guess investing the fighting rings is something that has to happen later, maybe hold court so the people of dragonstone can get used to us
That sounds too negative. More like, Rhaenyra's gonna take stuff like Tyland's words as much more of an insult and you'll be able to take actions against him.
