Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Mmm.

Trade would be useful for putting together communications and spying networks. Traveling performances, too, since I don't think Hanyi is going to be the last of those we do. I'd want to bring Bao Qian in on it, if nothing else so we're not getting in each other's way.

Artisans would probably significantly speed the development of our unique exotic cultivation resources. Xuan Shi would probably have useful recommendations.

Long term, of course, we'd want the answer to be "both," but whichever we get put up first is going to have more influence on our lands and house.

Xia Lin should just take over her clan's ancestral lands together with whatever like-minded clan members are left.
What is the General going to do? Chain them into their new territory on the Roots?
Sounds like a great way to develop a Heart Demon. The Chainbreaker's Crucible ends up forging new chains and hot-iron branding her clan with them.

About the vote, I agree with Xia Lin. Snowblossom is going to take a while before it can engage on some serious trading on its own. So, while it's good to build contacts, going the trade route would still mostly be to just give them money to trade with elsewhere.
I would like our first investment to be more involved.
I we recruit some promising artisan, we can get them to develop interesting things with the jadehelms and especially that cold clay we got. In light of that a pottery of some kinds sounds (this is when we run into the Ma sisters's family). Trading with that can come after.

I do feel like getting some artisans is the better choice here, cause while there surely are people in the trade district we could build connections with that want to branch out (heh) from Xiangmen, as it currently stands there isn't really much of anything for them to do at Shenglu.
Where as if we got some people of the crafty variety, then we could start to make use of all of our fancy resources and stuff, and start to more actively draw in actual trade and commerce.

That would be pretty cool if we did encounter them, but i thought their parents were from some town or village or something, and not Xiangmen itself? Though idk why I think that, so i could easily be misremembering

One of Shenglu's strengths is having a lot of exotic materials, so artisan feels like a better way to capitalise on that.

I love what we're seeing of Xia Lin :V The spicy food and Ling Qi having to try it, some of the emotions that we get to see about the new lands, some good ribbing of our girl...I need more of her!! More adventures with our girl!!

The smell of woodsmoke and spicy sweet seasonings was very strong, hanging sooty and thick in the air even in the back of the restaurant. The clatter and sizzle of the chefs cooking away and the dull crackle of stoked flames mingled with the sounds of idle conversation. Ling Qi turned the metal skewer in her hands, observing the glistening red sauce that coated the cute cubes of seared meet with a weary eye. She could feel the embers of flame sleeping in the rich earthy qi of the beef and cut cubes of grilled mushrooms.

"Are you trying to give me Qi deviations, Xia Lin?"

"Do not be a coward, try your skewer. Take a bite of the mushroom cuts after the meat if the spice is too much, its absorbant," Xia Lin dismissed.

She supposed she could feel some motes of dark qi locked inside the seared cubes. She slid the skewer between her lips and bit off the first strip of meat.

"Danger, danger, the left flank pillow fort just caught fire!" Sixiang cackled.
magnificent opener

"It explains any things the lack of investments in our clan's lands, and the push for the younger generation to find careers in the wider province. As a final step…"
I think you are missing a letter on this sentence.
