A Hellfish flys again! ( a Simpsons X DVV CK2 Quest)

...now I wonder, *whose* Mustache we shouldn´t mess with - Ned´s or the Senator´s
So fun fact. All the Hamster and Gretel characters that appeared in the Finales crime report got me to look up the show. And low and behold a villain named Van Dyke. A scientist who turned himself into a mustache* that can control anyone who's face he's on. We might be dealing with an actual mustache that's secretly controlling a senator here. 😆

*He wanted to give himself a beard but it went wrong.

Poochy
Ever since we unlocked the action to buy Itchy and Scratchy, all the posters in this thread have been asking themselves the same question: where's poochie?

well after hours of discussion with the qms, it is my privilege, honor, and duty to elucidate this cartoonist's conundrum

Poochy, as we understand him, does not and potentially may never exist

Now, what do I mean by this? I'm sure you've seen the episode, Itchy and Scratchy clearly interact with him in the show(or aleast see the guy) so what gives?

Well to explain, first we have to go over the differences between a Natural Toon and a Created Toon.

Natural Toons are people hired by studios to make cartoons, often while consenting to changes in their voice or design. These Toons have an inherent desire to spread joy, whimsy, and general positivity to those around them, specially nontoons.

Poochie is a Created Toon, meaning the studio itself came together to give him form. We actually see this in the episode itself, but without the weight of a living breathing soul on the line.

If Natural toons want to spread joy, Created Toons need it in order to truly form. Otherwise theyre just meaningless ink on a page. Until they spread this joy, Created Toons are nothing more than golems of raw "toonmatter" that the executives are trying to weekend-at-burnies into existence. Like a trap door in Scooby-Doo that's drawn instead of being painted to denote that it's supposed to be interacted with.

In theory, it's incredibly easy to give created toons enough whimsy(hereafter refered to as positivity) to form. With the miracle of mass broadcasting, these Toons can be exposed to thousands of people who could potentially find joy in their existence.

Hell, this Positivity doesn't even have to be directed at the Toon themselves! Setting up jokes, providing a tone, or any other thing could potentially even incarnate a background character!

In short, it's an incredibly low bar to make a toon like poochy into a Real Boy, and the brain trusts at Itchy and Scratchy Studios limboed under it like it was the Olympics. Poochy not only failed to elicit joy, he failed to assist humor. Hell, regularly stopped jokes before they could start like a less improv-savvy bonkers bobcat

The Poochy we know is not a person, he is a lifeless Pinocchio puppeted by out of touch fools who tried to bottle lightning to create life and failed to an unprecedented degree.

For now, Poochie's lifeless form is collecting dust, possibly stored in a vault separate from the lifeless background characters he calls kin.

And there he will remain until someone gives him a chance

Any questions and comments are appreciated

Aww...

I like to imagine that Itchy and Scratchy, as in, the Toon Actors, kinda feel bad for him. Not like it was his fault that his creators were so out of touch.

Myers accidentally gave them weed, it just happened to coincide with Marge's antics/j

Itchy: "Hey, who are people like Porky Pig talking to when they break the fourth wall when not on set?"

Scratchy: "Whoa, that's like...a Really good question, buddy."

Itchy: "Are we but figments of the imaginations of fickle, unknowable Gods typing away at the typewriter that is our reality???"

I'm sure Doof will be very keen on supporting/broadcasting whatever other show we have, after how successful Krusty was. Getting his backing on Itchy and Scratchy should be fairly straightforward, which will hopefully help keep Judge Doom off our backs.

We must try to save Poochy. Bring him to life!

Would giving Itchy and Scratchy total creative freedom help?

Poochie is legally barred from appearing on the Itchy and Scratchy show by an offical affidavit from Itchy and Scratchy Studios, and as Created Toons made in the Studio's name they are legally bound to it aswell. Only the IP holder can circumvent the affidavit.

So we gotta fuck up Meyer, is what I'm hearing.

I think we bought those IP rights, if I understand what the results say we bought correctly.
Oh, cool. No problem then.

Let's fuck up Meyer anyway, though. Just because.

... Due to some discussion with the other QMs, Now when it's Pride month I have this funny mental image of some OC news caster for Channel 6 (or whatever Kent Brockman works at) making homophobic jokes with Abe and Flanders, assuming they will agree with him due to their old age (and Flanders' religion)...and the two just calmly make it clear they will beat the shit out of him if he EVER says that again

Especially since it's not confirmed like Luz, but there are subtle implications Camila might be Bisexual as well XD

Don't forget Vee, who is nonbinary!

Don't forget Vee, who is nonbinary!

I... Huh, Vee isn't actually stated in the show to be non binary (she's implied to be pansexual or the like since she has a crush on a non binary person) but being a shape shifter, I guess it would make sense?

Might play into some recently examined harmful tropes of non binary Rep In fiction always being shape shifters though

And there he will remain until someone gives him a chance

I´d be up for it, because again - Poochie coulda worked out if Meyers hadn´t just shoe-horned him in as a "cool and hip new character" without giving a fuck about actual *character dynamics*.

Itchy and Scratchy are basically "morality-flipped" and hyper-violent versions of Tom & Jerry - like them, they got a very defined dynamic going on as the very bedrock of their skits. So if you want to insert a new permanent character to that and make it not blow up in your face, you have to know how you want them to fit in.

Now, T & J got Spike as a semi-regular third player and it works - now, what "inverted version" of Spike could Poochie be to keep things interesting?

Something to think about - or just ways to make him *Work* - if we do wanna have Poochie "Spark" (to borrow some vaguely- appropriate DQ vocabulary) during a possible revival of the show as a whole, guys.

Aww...

I like to imagine that Itchy and Scratchy, as in, the Toon Actors, kinda feel bad for him. Not like it was his fault that his creators were so out of touch.

Might be that one non-canon omake coloring our views of him, but I agree there

Wait, I just realized if itchy and scratchy are real, that episode after marge killed cartoon violence where they looked out of it was possibly them really being drugged or something.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozWpY6Cn67Y

...so Marge unwittingly *deprived them of their reason for existing* by censoring their show like that?

*Way to go, Marge*

Itchy: "Hey, who are people like Porky Pig talking to when they break the fourth wall when not on set?"

Scratchy: "Whoa, that's like...a Really good question, buddy."

Itchy: "Are we but figments of the imaginations of fickle, unknowable Gods typing away at the typewriter that is our reality???"

But I & S are actors - outta character, they *know* that there is an audience watching them.

Honestly so confused rn...

Poochie is legally barred from appearing on the Itchy and Scratchy show by an offical affidavit from Itchy and Scratchy Studios, and as Created Toons made in the Studio's name they are legally bound to it aswell. Only the IP holder can circumvent the affidavit.

Easy solution:

"Cancel" *The Itchy & Scratchy Show*, then "revive" it under a new name like *The NEW Itchy & Scratchy Show*

Bam - *new show, new rules*

That way, we can loophole our way past the Poochie ban^^

Might play into some recently examined harmful tropes of non binary Rep In fiction always being shape shifters though

...what´s so bad about it? To me, those two things go together naturally

...it´s about confining them to one stereotype of character in media, amirite?

Ignoring the fact this is a non canon gag, the joke is "Porky Pig and Tinker Bell broke the fourth wall at the end of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, which in the context of that movie makes no sense because at the time they weren't on a set or anything like that, they were walking home after the events of everything" XD

Abe managing to break the 'old person set in their ways' stereotype by reminding everyone that he's President of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance (for some reason). As for Flanders while he might be zealously committed to his bible, his 'love thy neighbour' mentality would probably win out… especially if future set episodes show him willing to accept his own sons sexual orientation, if slightly embarrassed about it.
