I am sorry what did I just read
Its been a while since I've read the Romance so I might be wrong in the details.

A peasant called Liu An sheltered Liu Bei after the later lost a battle to Cao Cao. Liu Bei, being a lord of high rank (he was not yet King) was supposed to be hosted with certain honours, such as meat.

Liu An was a peasant, and times were hard so he had no meat. So, to make sure he could properly honour Liu Bei, he killed his wife, and used her meat to feed him. Liu Bei discovered her corpse the next day and was moved to tears by Liu An's deed. Cao Cao was also so impressed when he heard the story he sent Liu An a box of gold.

Him being a fugitive at this time barely at all breaks the OTL, funnily enough :V
Really? IIRC at this point in time he should be famous for his famous deed with the letters. Which was daring, but not illegal since the government sided with his master. Here he's walked in a prison, murdered the guards and released a traitor.

I shifted a few things with Taishi Ci so his deed with the letters happened last year, and Ge Dejun was a party to it. Liang Shu could have been there too if things had been different, which I'll go over another time. But yeah he's still gonna have to probably self exile as he did in OTL. By the time he comes back, government control has collapsed anyway, so who cares about some crime he did years ago? (Assuming he doesn't get arrested/killed before 190 ofc)

depends on how the fucture goes I guess cause well we have dong zhuo as a general from the start and we seem to be aligning more with his crowd who knows how the yellow turbin end up maybe ding yuan will die and then we don't work for him who knows

Ah, then this will become just another legendary deed of his I guess. Walking into a prison, killing all the guards and escaping a city with a nobleman wanted for treason. Not quite the same as what he did with Kong Rong. But it's up there.

Of course this will be a tension point between the Sun clan and Shu in the future if we get that far. Liang Shu. While forgiving of enemies, seems to be far less so when it comes to traitors.

It's pretty worth mentioning that at the time period too, fealty and filial piety were significantly more important culturally than the bonds of love and romance. To paraphrase Liu Bei, brothers are like limbs, while wives and children are like clothes.

Actually, I can go over this today, if people are interested. I THINK I might have talked about it years ago in the thread, but I can always talk about it again.

yeah I can see shu going I can forgive those in a hard time making mistakes those who commit treason for people who don't deserve loyality is another

We already did. There was a bandit who surrendered who we recruited.

But apart from one schizophrenic moment where we voted to be friends with Ge Dejun we've been pretty solid about killing everyone and everything associated with our fathers betrayal and death.

[x] Plan: Trust your friends
-[x] Supportive, tell Zhu Fang that whatever he decides to do, you will support it however you can.
-[x] Entrust this to Yu Zhong's plan. He is prepared and seems confident. Use all your hard work to reverse the final schemes of the Heishan bandits, and counter them spectacularly.
-[x] Perhaps you really should rest and recover. Entrust all of this to Zhu Fang, Yu Zhong, Zhang Liao and the rest. Trust your friends and officers to finish the job for you.

Didn't see that it had to be a plan vote, so changing it to that.

-[X] You will lead the troops, but you will remain in the back away from the fighting unless you really are needed. You cannot risk further injury or exhaustion at your moment of triumph.

Okay so, I don't want Zhu Fang taking all our troops, we'll be an officer ourselves soon and marching north to fight a three way war. I'm most interested in keeping our cavalry together, since the march will require speed, but Zhu Fang just taking a couple hundred infantry by itself will still somewhat hurt. We do only have a little over 2000 men.

Yu Zhong has also proven himself time and again, let him have this moment of glory that will give him fame before he goes to Luoyang, let Lu Bu arrive to see an already defeated foe. Plus we've been rolling really well on the setup for this.

Finally, I can't see Shu not leading this final battle, as long as he stays away from the thick of things, he should be fine. Plus there is no other Commander as experienced in fighting these bandits as us, nor anyone the bandits fear as much as us, Liang Shu might find closure in this final battle

The Confrontation
Zhang Liao:
Ziyi at last, we meet each other plain
No matter what you are
I renounce your claims

Taishi Ci:
Before you say another word, Wenyuan
Before you pursue me far
Listen to me, I have duties I must do
Lord Kong leads a suffering land
It's up to me to rescue him
Against the rebels, three days I need
Then I'll return, I pledge myself
Then I will return

Zhang Liao: You know naught of me
I have chased you across these years
Bandits like you never change
Scum such as you

Taishi Ci: My duty stands proud still

Zhang Liao: Bastards like you never change

Taishi Ci: There is a duty I am sworn to do

Zhang Liao: Dastards like you never change
Taishi Ci: You don't know of me at all

Zhang Liao: Ge Dejun, I do

Taishi Ci:You'd rather we face off

Zhang Liao: To the death if need be

Taishi Ci: You only talk of honour

Zhang Liao: Taishi Ci is just a criminal now

Taishi Ci: I am warning you, Zhang Liao
Face me if you dare

I am the better of us pair

Zhang Liao Murderous runaway

Taishi Ci:
I must save lord Kong

Zhang Liao: By your bloody hands

Taishi Ci: Repeat that, you lapdog

Zhang Liao: I fight for righteousness

Taishi Ci: I am stronger than us by far

Zhang Liao: My clan committed many sins

Taishi Ci: I have no clan at all

Zhang Liao: Every man must choose his way

Taishi Ci: My battle is not yet done

Zhang Liao:

You know nothing of Zhang Liao
My family name is dirt
I will slay all scum like you
Taishi Ci, you are through

To be fair, the MC is a literal teenager leading child soldiers, if you think about it.
Haha good one Gaz Shu is at least a young adult-wait, it's only been a year-ish in-universe since the quest started? That's not even an IRL time thing, this quest is just hefty so I thought a couple more years had passed. I guess you weren't kidding when you said this was the prologue :V

For the vote, on the one hand, I could see Liang Shu taking part in some capacity giving him peace of mind that the bandits are truly defeated, but I'm also seeing the vibes saying that Shu just... really needs some well-deserved rest. If Yu Zhong thinks the fight will be a cinch with his plan, then I'm inclined to believe him. We paid the money for it, after all. Despite what he may think, not a single person would be disappointed in Shu besides himself. And when several of your trusted retainers/advisors are saying to rest, that's a pretty telling sign.

[x] Plan: Trust your friends
