What should your focus for the rest of the Quest be?

any reason its not just doing the station development to get the void industry anyways along with another station?

I have answered that question twice now, but I'll do it one more time and done.

Because that 1 AP cost to raise Void Industry while also building habitats isn't going anywhere. But raising VI to X only costs 1 AP until it reaches X.

So by raising VI first, then building the habitat, we get VI XI for 2 AP, while doing it the other way around will cost us 3.

For when we next build new SBG's i would recommend the following:

[] [Military] Sector Battle Group Construction And Repair
-[] Hydralisk and Necrolisk (0/1)
--[] Transfer a Leo from each existing SBG to the new ones and build Pegasus-Class Command Cruisers to replace them
--[] Transfer two Scorpio-Class Light Cruiser from each existing SBG to the new ones and build Hydrus-Class Rad Cruisers to replace them
--[] Make the default for new SBG's 1 Pegasus-Class Command Cruisers + 3 Leo's and 2 Hydrus-Class Rad Cruisers as part of their light cruisers

To modernize our existing SBG's in a single action as both new designs will add new options for the SBG's admirals.

[X] Plan: Moff Shooshing

This plan needs to add a Consecrated planet tho. Dunno what will happen if we don't add one- worst case scenario is it just not being done.

Another idea could be to set larger goals. Say -[X] [Free] Consecrate In Sacred Sand (Irridanus Sub-Sector)

EDIT: Have it randomly consecrate one world per decade in the targeted sub sector and notify the thread when it's finished with that and needs a new target.
We can start with our home sub-sector. That would certainly help out if and when Chaos wants to fuck around

Edit: Every step Chaos takes on the sub-sector can be marked with endless pain

Any idea on which planet is best for the short term?
Glad you asked!
In general, we want worlds with following characteristics, roughly from most to least important/urgent:
  1. Near Chaos presence- our biggest use of those planets is refusing Chaos in it's entirety. If Chaos is near or was on a given planet, then we sanctify it. Our moth babies' world counts here.
  2. Religiously significant locations- holy sites and places like station we started the quest from, Hexe due to it's borderline-heretic nature we want to keep on good side of faith, whatever cool places we want to honor and make extra holy.
  3. On the frontline- The blessing is mainly defensive in nature, and should work against non-Chaos foes as well, just like Sacred Sands do. Especially useful for Phantom in Echish, since Duchy still can explode into Cults and demons, like our last dogmatic neighbours did. And even if they don't, they probably have I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Heresy weapons powered by demons or something, still laying in ther vaults.
  4. Most important and populated worlds- both to defend them against surprise Chaos incursions, sabotage and surprise attacks, as well as to enhance their prosperity and productivity.
  5. Near Mashan- they like religious stuff, hate Chaos, and showing a holy world where they can easily visit is a good ice breaker in conversations with them. "Hey look at us using colored sand (among other things) to make a whole damn world holy. Pretty cool eh? Maybe we can learn from each about how to use rocks to fight Chaos!". Moth baby world counts here as well.
  6. Near our other neighbors- both as a precaution against them deciding to attack us. It also serves as a tool of propaganda and conversion- any psyker visiting our world is going to notice a noticeable lack of maddening voices whispering/screaming in their ear.
Phanton near Duchy may lead to a reaction from them though, and our last holy-powered intervention was not taken well. This at least isn't Xeno terraformation but a more subtle, religious one, still best to have a diplomat on Duchy duty, to make sure they don't get some wrong ideas (again).

I know this is kind of a weird question (and a late one) because development good - but what does improving void industry get us? We already have the VI X milestone, and at VI 12 we get grand cruisers but... So what?

We've already decided not to focus on conquest, so I'm not sure why we would need to build grand cruisers. Our current designs could honestly last the rest of the quest and we could put those actions towards diplomacy & development. I'd rather have a new heavy industry-focused ISC over VI 12.

We even know how to get it!
Yeah. 2 Actions, and make a fluff-piece focused on heavy industry.

011.M43 - The Burning Eye
The most significant difficulty the Glimmering Federation faced when presented not only with evidence that there were Warp Spirits not utterly tainted by the claws of Chaos but that they could also be helpful, as was seen in the Purification of Mothome when those same Warp Spirits that masqueraded as "Gods" had ordered their followers to purge the touch of Chaos from their world was, to put it bluntly, institutional, rather than spiritual.

The clergy of the Droman Creed was willing to let this process play out with precision, their eyes fully alight with centuries of wisdom and faith. They were adamant that they would discern the truth of the matter with pen, scripture, and holy guidance in their hands, minds, and souls.

The Choirs of the Federation, on the other hand, were tasked with actually communing with those spirits so that the sight and history of the Mothrame would not taint the pictures being drawn. This meant that the assigned Choirs had to commune with Warp Spirits.

The very thing they trained for a century to resist in thought and soul on an unconscious level.

It was...difficult for the five assigned Choirs to even think in such a matter, much less act on those thoughts, their collective experience measuring no less than two millennia all told, and all focused upon a psychic discipline that hinged on their ability to resist the draw of Chaos to the utmost.

It was only with the gentle guidance and meditations led by a Divine Beast that they managed to establish a measure of contact. Not the Divine Beast of the Healing Fire that had led the armies and fleet of the Federation unto the world to cleanse and heal the wounds inflicted by Chaos, but the Divine Beast of the Burning Eye that had created his nest within the beating heart of the Celestial Choir's headquarters, his quarters filled with a wealth of esoteric knowledge and arcane understanding that boggled the mind of learned Hymnals and would drive the uninitiated into madness proper.

And so it came that, in a ritual watched by literal millions of learned clergy, aides, Magi, Psykers, Mothrame, and more, with literal billions ready to analyze every micro-second of information for decades to come so they could be studied for millennia yet unwritten, the Eleven Spirits were contacted.

And one by one...they communed.

Gyion, "God" of Infamy.
Qunos, "God" of Beasts.
Aohr, "God" of Oaths.
Phasdall, "Goddess" of the Sun.
Ort, "God" of Transition.
Xuar, "Goddess" of Honor.
Oreus, "God" of Harvest.
Qhuxasis, "God" of Messages.
Oarin, "Goddess" of Justice.
Selos, "Goddess" of Death.

Zetin, "Goddess" of Virtues.

What do you ask of them to ascertain their nature?
