Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Gotta prepare to win the peace. So uh, going with the peace craft option seems better.

Gift of War feels more like a puzzle for the best defence while Gift of Peace feels like asking for his dream of the shared future. Peace is infinitely more romantic in my opinion.

Definitely should go an item for peace.

And:

I thought my girl Ling Qi was rizzing up muh fave turtle boi.

Nah, Yrs had me in the first half.

Fucking Xuan Shi 'the Crafter of Rizz' comes in hard in the second half for a completely dominating game.

I mentioned before that Ling Qi is comfortable with Xuan Shi, but--man. The lake turtle "rejected" him immediately after his story about growing up isolated, and she was still comfortable laughing at the face he made about it. Sure, she apologized, but she wasn't concerned about it and there's no awkwardness. And then they immediately move into talking about him courting her, something that touches on old anxieties for both of them, and they get through it.

There is just so much trust there. They really have come a long way.

If Xuan Shi marries Ling Qi Kongyou may be driven to drink. They've already had their craving for failure get denied with the spectacular success of the summit. Turtle Lad succeeding in courting Qi instead of getting rejected might well break something in them :p
If a dream muse has to confront their nightmare to grow, then a nightmare muse must confront their dream.

If "being nice can be nice, i guess" end up as a harrowing adventure, then you will know they are truly meant for each other.

[X] Ask him to craft something for the peace that came after

Turtle boy rizz is off the chart!!! I used to think Meng Dan had all the chemistry points but this sweetie has me swooning. I'm picking what I view as the more romantic, looking towards the future together option!

Ling Qi might experience either rotation from the front, or diplomatic assignments throughout this conflict. We deal and take plenty of damage, but we need make sure we have tools other than hammers.

Ling Qi, Zhengui, and Sixiang had this conversation when we did the garden and the festival: A Person needs to do more than fight and prepare for War, lest all you become is a Blade.

I'd like to think, based on how much debate goes into the Fief Planning Votes, that this is something that is easy to envision. Snowblossom and Shenglu will be the Ling Clan territory in the future. Lets plan for that future.

I think it is sweet and all, and glad they've both grown enough to do this. But am not a shipper of any of the current candidates, vis a vis Xuan Shi I don't recall Ling Qi ever expressing physical attraction towards him? Which she's felt plenty of times towards others.

Could be building up towards a 'he takes off his structured clothes that hid a chiseled bod - cue swoon' but I doubt.

Physical chemistry is certainly not the be all end all, but she can feel it strongly, she should have that in her husbando!

Def believe the peace gift is the way to go, they both loathe war, and his last 'gift' for her was gauntlets of war.

XUAN SHI STEALING A MARCH ON THE OTHER SUITORS.

Honestly though, this is why I don't understand when people say these two don't have chemistry. It's not giddy infatuation, but a deep understanding of one another that gives the possible of a mature relationship. Xuan Shi believes in Ling Qi so hard that it drove him to be a better person and grow up. He has his own ambitions, but he's also not afraid to pursue the feelings he has. And Ling Qu has learned from him and grown, specifically with regards to the power of narratives and stories. I don't think the same can be said of her relationships with her other suitors. BQ seems more likely to learn form her while LQ does her own thing, and the flirtation with Meng Dan is cute but I want to see more of their interactions once he as skin in the game.

Plus, I love the idea of Ling Qi being the lynchpin of a Cai-Bai-Xuan alliance.

The fact that he just wanted to know if there was a chance and was totally willing to drop is courtship if there wasn't speaks to his growth from when we first met him.
I also love the symmetry here that I hadn't realized before. She's stories for the past, he's stories for the future. Together they fight crime. The two perspectives combining to make a unified whole just works so well.
Qingge is going to be fretting about him making hickeys too, now.
Edit: Even more so than before, that is.
That's why we practice defensive arts!

No one can give a tree hickies.

I suspect this is going to be important to Shi. I don't want him to pour his soul into a weapon.

On one hand, I like the rhetoric of getting a gift for the peace that will, hopefully, come after the war.

On the other hand, Xuan Shi is a barrier specialist. The idea of his gift protecting LQ over the course of the war is also pretty neat.

But we already received a significant defense boost from Qiyi. So the gift for after the war could be more significant?

I'm not really sure.
