[X] He is MY child, whatever his origins or secrets, and whatever his choices.
It didn't have to happen with his approval. If the remaining oathsworn gained power when other members died, then that's reason enough for betrayal.
And if Yuan He's Way is based on being The Storm but also companionship (a storm is something created by a system of many smaller parts?), then having one of his companions betray another for power could do serious Way damage. That was his responsibility to foresee and stop. Doubly so if someone loyal to Yuan He did it for his sake. After all, if you're being ruthlessly pragmatic, then what's sacrificing one Way-damaged barbarian for the sake of the entire Sect and the entire Empire?
It'd be real damn ironic if someone trying to push Yuan He to White created the first cracks that will lead him to die a Prism.
I find it hard to believe this is the full story. For one, Yuan He's way will probably not let him just betray his companions like that. And ways don't lie.
