What should your focus for the rest of the Quest be?

We'll probably want 3 task forces in the short-medium term. Two built around our carriers to be the expeditionary force and a third built around the Kildrabi's battlecolonies to serve as the homeguard response force. Upgrade the battlecolonies and add a Libra carrier to the task force plus some Crux frigates and a group of Lupus destroyers and we've got a pretty potent homeguard.

That's not a terrible plan, though we'll need to start focusing on doing 1 ship-building action a turn starting next turn if we want those forces put together any time soon. And I'd add in some Aries as well for close-escort duties, since we spent so much upgrading the class.

I would say that for the near future, our Edpeditionary Task-Forces should be something like:
-1 Libra
-4 Crux
-4 Lupus
-8 Aries

For a total of 5 actions per Task-Force to complete, with Taurus' being attached as needed, and the Home Guard being the above plus the Battlecolonies.

Ideally we'd be doing 1 Infrastructure, 1 Ship Building, and 1 Misc action a turn for the next 7-8 in a row.

Also Also, here's a design I've been thinking about for a little while for a Heavy Transport Vessel that doubles up on a Light Logistics role:

- Tiny On-Board Manufactory (+3), Dedicated Heavy Ortillery (+3), Medium Troop Compartment (+3), Enhanced Supply Generation (+1), Veteran Pilot Gene-Lines (+1), Strict Pilot Training (+1)

Ideally, we'd use these to support extended fleet actions beyond our borders, as well as transport both 1-2 SAGs alongside some mixture of Choirs and Knights to planetary invasions.

Feels like industry is more important right now.
Though the astropath song definitely feels next on a list, we have 100 years after all, although we probably should finish before said 100 years.
 
It's within a hundred years, and the Astropath's song is pretty important if everyone's actually thinking about ways to increase the scale of everything. Being able to travel and communicate (relatively) quickly is a key to being able to maintain a big, active polity across the reaches.

@HeroCooky Are our karnivores going to brainwash their users into being meat puppets for throne mechanicus or can we get rid of that?

Actually imperial knight armiger patterns also get their brains overrode and puppeted by the Helm Mechanicus when connected to a Throne Mechanicus. I just did a wikiwalk to learn more about them.
No, they can be slaved to a bigger Knight, but it doesn't happen by proximity, you need to actually set it up. If it happened passively every engagement with an enemy Knight would immediately cripple every Armiger in the theatre.

If we don't do heavy industry this turn I really hope we'll get 3 levels of Heavy Industry in the next 2 turns.

I really want to unlock RnD so we can get actual damned tanks and other equipment, on top of getting the Lamenters better armor.

so what's the pros and cons of getting HI 2 or Unity ?

HI 2 potentially allows us to get Heavy Industry 5 and its bonus next turn, instead of the turn after.

Unity potentially allows us to have Astropaths through a Song next turn, instead of the turn after.

I know why I think that Astropaths sooner are a much bigger deal than HI a turn sooner, IMO, but others will disagree with my analysis.
 
That's a Chaos thing. You'll get ghosts critizing the pilots for being inadequate and worse than some other, better, pilot.

Ah lovely…the old ghosts of people who worked with the hound and the hound itself are pushy bastards trying to make the pilot better…works in some cases.

Man the shit/talking that must go on in those knight comb's when they bitch about their personal ghosts and machines at times in private chats.

Anyway, I do think we should probably wait on Heavy Cruisers before we do a full logistics vessel. We don't currently have the ability to effectively project power beyond our immediate environs, and that's not something that'll instantly be solved either. We've got a short period we can take advantage of to solidify our doctrine and stabilize our position, I suggest we take it.
