Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

I like Yog's plan, but I would prefer purchasing perfect defence. After all, the EIPP was also a contested spending, but it have turned out very useful this arc. Also, the automaton showed that Molly still has some flaws in defence.

[X] Plan Feeding and Healing + Defence
-[X] Molly, 37 XP
--[X] Counter-Conceptual Interposition, 16 XP
--[X] Alchemy 4, 6 XP
--[X] Maggot Mana Plague, 8 XP
--[X] Awareness 2, 5 XP
--[X] Alertness 2, 2 XP
-[X] Lydia, 15 XP + 12 XP = 27 XP
--[X] Warding of Divine Ancestry, 15 XP
--[X] Companions of the Hunter, 12 XP
-[X] Tiffany, 15 XP + 7 XP = 22 XP
--[X] Lore of Awakening 3 dots, 22 XP
There is something to it, I guess. Why do you think we need a perfect defense right now, and why CCI? I plan to include making Molly an armor with perfect effects (this is the design document) next turn.
The thing that gets them stuck is that they need a certain amount of power to finish waking up and gaining control isn't it? Unlike reds it's primarily about the juice at this stage.

Giving them literally as much food as they can take with should be enough to glut the demon into calming down.
Not exactly. They need to fully feed their demon, until it can't eat anymore. Which is what MMP is used for.

My plan, take 3.

[X] I Can See You, But You Can't See Me!
-[X] Molly - 60 XP
--[X] Purchase Black Mirror Incarnation (15 XP)
--[X] Purchase Inner Devils Unchained (12 XP)
--[X] Purchase Awareness up to 3 Dots (9 XP)
--[X] Increase Alertness to 3 Dots (6 XP)
--[X] Increase Alchemy to 4 Dots (6 XP)
--[X] Buy down Nightmares (4 XP)
--[X] Total XP Spent: 52
-[X] Lydia - 15 XP
--[X] Purchase Warding of Divine Ancestry (15 XP)
-[X] Tiffany - 15 XP, plus 7 Molly XP
--[X] Purchase Lore of Awakening up to 3 Dots (22 XP)
-[X] Unspent Molly XP: 1

EDIT: W I P

Also, the automaton showed that Molly still has some flaws in defence.
You misread then. Molly wasn't defending herself at all to save essanse having a perfect defense would not have mattered. My fault for expecting any damage to just be lethal damage that we can quickly heal.

When her defenses are up the Dragon couldn't scratch her.

As a suggestion - you have 4 XP points left. You could either switch Maggot Mana Plague for Inner Devils Unchained, or buy either awareness or alertness 3, or get a 1 dot favored charm, like Prince of Ruin Attitude.

I feel like we've had a long and detailed conversation about this already, so I just leave the link to our previous debate on the topic:
1. Also, don't forget that Molly can't tank attacks with BME (that means she can't protect anyone or anything with BME) and
1.1. that CCI can make her impervious against the particular enemy for a turn.
2. This point means that we will need to spend AP and resources for mitigating BME flaws, and we won't be able to cope with holy power drawback. The cloud of darkness also will blind our allies.
3. CCI drawback can be mitigated with burning Crown question after deflecting an unknown attack. The answer will also be a mystical secret and give Molly two motes. It means that she will spend only one mote of Essence, like with any other perfect defence.
And it doesn't mean that Molly won't find herself against someone who can use holy attacks.

Yes, and the only flaw of CCI is the increased cost in case Molly doesn't know, what her enemy is. This flaw can be countered with acquiring additional information from Bob. Also remember that Molly has Occult 5.

Also consider the ability to cheaply defend against enemies with multiple attacks and this:
Also, I don't believe that Splendors should duplicate the mechanics of the perfect defence charm, such us countering the holy attacks, perfect attacks, AoE (like the satellite drop by Ebenezer) attacks.

You're right, of course, but I'm really ambivalent on the topic: PRA is very epic and narratively suitable charm that allows some interesting uses, while the stats would be probably more efficient mechanically.

Long plan. My apologies; I couldnt really figure out how to shrink it

RATIONALE
This attempts to address most issues we ran across, with an eye towards the future.

LYDIA
Lydia had two problems we saw: a vulnerability to Shaping effects, and issues with dealing enough damage quickly.
Warding of Divine Ancestry is her shaping defense, and Arms of Iron both buffs her hand to hand damage, and it damages anyone that she grapples, or who tries to grapple her. Which is something Outsiders like to do.

LASH
Lash will have has the Denarians, and Lasciel in particular out for her.
While she has enough Awareness to hopefully detect the Denarians themselves and can boost it, she has no Alertness to detect their mortal minions. So she needs as much Alertness as she can get.

Lore of Awakening 1+2 gives her the ability to find people (Awakening 1) and to purge poisons(Awakening 2), and sets her up to buy Awakening 3(Healing) next turn.
The ability to purge poisons for free would have been useful

Celestial Attunement allows her to track magically important dates, times and star conjunctions.
Like was important at Vegas for knowing when Sandra wanted to pull her ritual.
VAMPIRE THE DARK AGES (REVISED) p274
Celestial Attunement (1pt. Merit)
You have an innate link to the passage of time and the movement of celestial bodies. You can estimate the time until sunrise or sunset within a minute or two, and you can follow the phases of the moon in your head. Those with some training in astrology and this Merit can even foretell certain astrological conjunctions without access to charts. You can accomplish any of these feats with only a minimum of concentration.
Plus, she was headmates with a Starborn; it seems appropriate.

Green Thumb is a flavor Merit that is appropriate for her Lores, and can be upgraded in the future(I asked) to Touch of Life(3 dots) or Spark of Life(5 dots), either of which have synergy with Lore of Flesh. Changeling's Eyes is a Flaw for flavor that makes her eyes distinctive to those few people who know what a Shadow/Demon is, which given as she's unique, is very few people.

MOLLY
Inner Devils Unchained because if we're deploying minions in the field, we owe them better.
Plus, its in part helps with our promise to Olivia last year.
And I think @Yzarc has been asking for this for a couple arcs now.

Black Mirror Incarnation allows her to change her appearance, and to hide her doom aura when she isnt glowing.
So she can actually come to new places without announcing her presence. Which would have prevented anyone knowing Molly was in Vegas until she announched herself. Also, @Goldfish asked for it.

Dresden has 3-4HLs of Aggravated damage that will keep him bedridden for at least a week. Correction: 2 weeks
Lash cant heal Agg. Molly needs Alchemy 4 to fix that.
And to fix Rosie's Derangement. AND it also helps with her future crafting.
Also, its an IC decision.

Running To Forever stops Molly feeling tired when she's moving.
And it makes sprinting reflexive, so Molly can move at full speed during a fight without taking penalties.
Also, @BronzeTongue asked for it.

Countermagic[Human] because enemy magic is a demonstrated issue, and one of the people on Molly's near-future List, is Simon Peabody, who is a senior White Council wizard.

Multiple people have mentioned Awareness as something to not forget.
So Im buying both Awareness 1 and Alertness 2.
I could move Alertness 2 to Awareness 2, but I think we are better served by a spread there.

Also allows for cheeky tricks like swording someone and being a football field away when it is their turn. Not likely to happen usually given Molly is the party tank and we want to draw more aggro then we actually do, but still funny. But generally just means that Molly is always perfectly positioned during any fight.
like Prince of Ruin Attitude.
Thinking about Prince of Ruin Attitude and how we might have used it last arc. Remember when the tunnel was blocked by a cave in? Could we have used Prince of Ruin Attitude to just choose to treat the tunnel as still working properly?

True.
Or, in the future when we have actual multi-action charms, swording people on opposite sides of the football field in the same combat turn.

I dont think so.
Even if it did, it would not allow the rest of her party to do so.

Ok, my thoughts:

First: given how much AP hell is a thing, I consider Splintered Gale as a must have, we should have bought it yesterday in fact as far as I'm concerned. If we consider ourself able to protect our friends from being kidnapped, we have no real reasons to think we couldn't protect one of our clones.

Second, since the gates are opened on custom charms, I want to remark on one of our big problems with all the ones that create Fomori being that we can't use them on non mortal and/or can't control what we get.

Well, our hell has the solution to that:

Sutra spirit Symbiosis:
Fluff: The infernal uses willing Sutra spirits from her hell, and in a glorious ceremony, invest one of her followers with it so that they lives together in symbiosis.
System: Choose a number of Sutra that are willing, as well as a willing target. Pay essence (one per Sutra?), pass a test (Occult plus?) to bind the spirits to the target, they become a Fomori, with bigger bonuses for each invested Sutra.

Someone that is better at making charms can take it from there, I'm bad at the mechanical side of this.

I'm also in favor of clones, but considering how controversial they are, this is the best option that also includes destroying nightmares.

Personally, I am of the school of thought that the best way to make them stop being controversial is to bite the bullet and get them, that way we can get WOG on their vulnerabilities and go from there.

AP hell is real, and this is one of the biggest recurring solutions proposed for it, at this point it is getting annoying as hell to always see it lose only to complain we don't have the ability to multitask enough.

But since several of the great voting blocks are posting plans without it, I expect it to lose again, and us to get to the same point, again.

Seriously, if you are in favor of the charm, just vote for it.

Or make your own vote, in fact, since you want removing nightmares:

[x] Plan: Trying to buy votes.
-[x] Molly: 60 XP
--[X] Splintered Gale Incarnation, 20 XP
--[X] Counter-Conceptual Interposition, 16 XP
--[X] Maggot Mana Plague, 8 XP
--[X]Inner Devils Unchained, 12xp
--[X] Buy down Nightmares, 4 XP
-[X] Lydia - 15 XP
--[X] Purchase Warding of Divine Ancestry (15 XP)
-[X]Tiffany
--[X]Buy first dot of lore of awakening 7 xp
–[X]Brawl 1 2xp
–[X] Second dot of lore of awakening 5 XP.

There, this has the perfect defense, Splintered Gale (and a charm to make it more effective) and buying down the nightmares. Truly, everything everyone wants!

Point of order:
The whole reason we're learning Bridge of Dreams with Brother Devisimar is to buy down the Nightmares Flaw without spending XP. We voted for it.

Once we are done learning the second dot, we get it cleared.

I mean, our people can basically do that?

They surgically attack implants with Sutras in them which then give you the mechanical equivalent of a Formor power.

No Charm needed.

Our clones would be a much higher priority for obvious reasons. There reason given.

Yeah, no, I don't buy it.

And we can still have them in our hell in the worst case, doing things, still giving us AP.

But I really don't believe they would actually be that much more higher priority, not enough to think that we really cannot stop someone trying to kidnap them.

A big part of why Broken seeker was able to take our friends was that they didn't have any protections, so telling we can't stop attacks because he could get them is not really true, because, once again, they were not defended in any way.

The point of the charm is that since our people can do that, so can we, but easier and faster.

Do we not spend XP, when we purchase a new Qiao?
We do.
But buying Bridge of Dreams 1 + 2 only costs us 6XP. The second dot of Dreams costs the same as buying down Nightmares, and it allows us to recover Willpower as well.

Thats why, IIRC, we switched from Devil Fighter to Dreams, so we could fix the Nightmares issue, before going back to getting swole.

EDIT
It also allowed us to roleplay it out, which isnt a negligible benefit.

A tunnel is not a tool nor is it a machine, even if it was made by people, it is a place. Now if the place had say a blast door that had been jammed closed you could open that with a touch, even the hinges had been welded shut or something.

We do.

Well, I've changed it to the PRA now, we had already spent some AP on training.

In fact, one of the charms taken with the clones is exactly for that reason, Inner devil is something to make it so that our clones don't stay baseline and defenseless, and thus reduce the risks.

Oh, and since Uju pointed out some reasons not to buy down nightmares now:
