Chocolate is hilarious, don't get me wrong, but I think we'll be able to find other sources of food, and this seems even harder to manage.
 
Yes, a void Abacus would be important for trade and subversion-through-trade.
But!
Imagine Dreadnought Chyron waking up again, being told of the successes of his neophytes and handed a fresh, hot chocolate by a Kil'drabi.

As we can see, chocolate is the superior option, providing far more value than the other two options.

It's calorie dense food, an export commodity, morale and apparently powerful enough for diplomatic/espionage actions.

Maybe we can worker people harder in exchange for brown, spicy, sugary, narcotic or something or just dole it out for QoL.

It's a hard life down there.

What would be the viability of Psykers serving as Navigators? IIRC they can do that with training.
