Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Im partial to Frostwood and Meltwater so far. However while theyre great as names of places, imo they dont hold to the momentousness of the summit and its meaning for the future. I felt this way after seeing Glimmerswell Summit, as that, just like the first two, make their case primarily in the interaction between the environments of ES and its southern neighbors.

More steeped in layers meaning imo could be:
[] Glimmer
or perhaps glimmering horizons/glimmering summit

Glimmer for the past, present and future of ES and the WS and their glimmering leaves and snowscape, respectively, to be doing so as eternally as the place and accords exist/hold true. They are not as one(or shall seek to be/merge), as several other names might imply, but respect the coexistence of two as representation of the diplomacy that happened there - they both shall glimmer.
For its etymology with scandinavian origin (glimra/glimre - Swedish/Danish) and its use describing the mineral mica that was used in prehistoric cave paintings for its shimmering effect.
For its meaning as 'a faint sign of a feeling or quality, especially a desirable one' would imply that this place and its happenings is the first step in the right/desirable direction.
For its meaning as 'shining faintly with wavering light' being a representation of the foundation/beginning of LQ/ CRX/ Gan Guangli stepping into the limelight.
For its google translation into simplified chinese: 微光 Wéi guāng (Wéi = micro / guāng = light) micro light makes me think of CRX (this amuses me), as Light being related to Mother Cai. Glimmer shall twinkle but not come to blind in the future as source of hope/success/encouragement to look to during the shitstorm to come. Its as a physical monument to the LQ/ CRX/ GG trio and what they aim to be.

im also into
Xin'an
Diviners Promise (for the pun on tsu and fridja the diplomacy divinities)
Tsudica (for its blasphemy?)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Lady_Story's LQ = Blue Moon shall forever be in the back of my mind as i read FoD now.

Crazy to think all this started because Hanyo existed, and Ling Qi, on that fateful day 2 in-universe years ago, happened to meet a dangerous ice spirit and managed to make friends with that spirit's daughter.

@yrsillar We met Jaromila when we were fighting the Ith and Cloud forces at the Caldera right? What was she doing here so far from her home? I completely forgot the reason for her being there on that day.

That was a meeting of basically all the Cloud Tribes called by those allied with the Ith to recruit the rest into the war. She was there supporting her husband, a Cloud Tribesman.

[X] Xin'an

Normally I'm diametrically opposed to naming anything "New <blank>", but the many layered meanings of this name managed to convince me despite that.

New Peace, or Novomirskiy, would have it's own double meaning in Russian - New Peace and New World. So pun counter keeps going up across languages.

If we are speaking purely about Russian (don't have qualifications to do so about other Slavic languages...) I would expect something like 'Novyi Mir' - there is a bunch of real world villages with that name. Though your variant might work too.

[X] Xin'an / "New Peace"

Someday a bunch of sovereigns are going to try and murder Ling Qi before she can ascend.
Less out of fear of whatever she would etch onto the world and more because she will undoubtably make it into a pun.

Nobody will take the empire seriously ever again if she succeeds.

And from a meta perspective it's funny since it could sound like we were naming it after Jiao's wife and emperor (though my impression is that China doesn't really do the naming places after people thing, so this wouldn't come up in-universe?).
Usually not, because its too easy to accidentally insult them that way, and of course any personage important enough to have places named after may not want people living/working on top of their metaphorical self.

Not auspicious to have people walk all over you, and thats unavoidable for a city.
"You are putting many in harms way here," Cao Chun said, looking at her with calculation. "But that is true of any settlement. Of course you mean to do this in tandem with the southerners."

"We have spoken of similar matters," Jaromila said. "With the construction of a complete temple and the infrastructure to support it, it would be insulting to the Weeping Sentinel for this place to not also be sanctified as a proper holdfast. Though I am sure we will need to more exactly define our peoples interactions."

Cao Chun snorted. "We WILL," he said, giving Ling Qi an irritated look.

"Naturally," Ling Qi said. "We cannot allow things to become disordered, however I feel that even at close proximity we may continue to develop this relationship as good neighbors."

"We find it a difficult notion but we cannot ask so many to leave civilization behind entirely, and be wholly beholden to foreign support," Dzintara said, looking almost as sour as Cao Chun. However, though there was some minor murmuring, most of the White sky were merely speaking slowly about plans, and some among the priests even looked quite happy. She glanced over Jaromila, who looked quite pleased with herself.

Handled internally indeed.
The moment when Dzintara and Cao Chun shared one thought that their juniors had managed to drop a Fiat Accompli on them where they had agreed to every single individual part and the whole was something they wouldn't have liked once assembled lol

I'm ambivalent on the chinese name pun.
It worked really well for Zhengui, but for a town something on the same vein as Snowblossom would fit better?

I also don't have any interest to reference, even indirectly, the name of the frigging empress.
LQ has exactly zero interest on her, and I'm quite sure using an emperor name without permission is punishable by law?
As in an imperial version of lesse majeste?

I would really prefer an alternate name
