Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I don't really think Confluence sounds good as a name for a town . Its a name used for sci fi conventions. Literally, its the name for the Pittsburgh scifi convention and a con in Minneapolis. Its the type of word used in an essay you wrote for school.

Bright Horizons is a name of a childcare organization that has preschool and daycare around the world. I associate the word pretty strongly with my job, having to go to many of their locations a lot. It wouldn't strike me as the most original thing in the world...no offense...
ope

uh. Concord and Accord are both settlement names. Concord even has a species of Grapes!

The Treaty of Concord Valley. With the settlement being Concord Valley. Because it's the valley we reached Concordance in.

Confluence is literally an IRL town name, I looked it up after I suggested it because it seemed like exactly the kind of name that towns get named all the time, or something like that/along those lines.

Like yes, people use the word for meeting place/gathering place for conventions... just as they use similar sorts of words for towns, and for pretty similar reasons. News at Eleven?

Concord is very American and that's okay with me (an American). Confluence is like, two towns in the US. Concord is many dozens of places in the US. Similar meaning too

Treaty of Bright Horizons. Bright Horizons Observatory. Bright Horizons Town. Bright Horizons garrison force. Bright Horizons temple complex.

I really like Bright Horizons because it calls to Light themes. This could be the light of Sudica's Lantern, the light of any of the Polar Suns (ideally not Perkunas), the light of the Suns or Moons for the Empire, or the Light of Cai gazing towards the future.

It could also call to the Koliadas flying city project the White Sky are working on right now.

Horizons works because it's the far distance, and a soft border. You can't ever reach the horizon, because it moves when you move. It's not an obstacle to scale, or something that obstructs. It's the limit of what any individual can see at that moment, and will change as the individual moves.

Confluence is fine but I feel it needs an adjective. By itself it's an oddity, but not bad
A Horizon is also literally defined as where the (White) Sky meets the Earth.

Found it when I went searching for "confluence" in Chinese, would love fuller examination by speakers.

It seems to have the double meaning of coming together of interests, and compiling the full collection of the huge amount of papers and documents that come out of this.

What if we aimed to use names that give off the feel/vibe of the town instead of using words that are kinda generic. It would be much harder though, but make the town seem more important

Oh, Huìjí sounds pretty good

Chinese translations of town names/words sound better than their English originals (probably because I speak English)

I think something simple and straightforward would be best. No need to get too fancy.
[X] Treaty of Forest and Sky, Ironwood

"Very good then!" Jia Shu said. "Getting back to the matter of these ith though. The reports we have received do have discrepancies with your information Emissary. These creatures do not behave or live like men. Even the degenerate barbarians of the sea floor or the jungle fused with beasts have more claim to that."

"We were asked for our information," Dzintara shrugged. "That portion is legend, but who is to say how far humans can change themselves?"

She gestured vaguely encompassing both the General and the Voice behind her, as well as the valley outside where the clean up was still occurring.

Ling Qi privately thought Cao Chun had a point, just what she understood of how the Ith reproduced made them seem more an odd sort of spirit, but now wasn't particularly the time for the debate."Something for us to study and come to conclusions on in a more rigorous setting," she said lightly.

"I suppose," Jia Shu said, stroking his beard. "Ah forgive me, my own interest in spiritual anatomy overcame me."
Yeah those people are really really weird and I'm not really sure if they're humans or spirits.

"We find it a difficult notion but we cannot ask so many to leave civilization behind entirely, and be wholly beholden to foreign support," Dzintara said, looking almost as sour as Cao Chun. However, though there was some minor murmuring, most of the White sky were merely speaking slowly about plans, and some among the priests even looked quite happy. She glanced over Jaromila, who looked quite pleased with herself.

Handled internally indeed.

Rolled 100 vs 3

9 degrees of success wtf

+1 WS Favorability, +2 PT Favorability.
Improved quality of foreign quarter investment.
Holy shit Jaromila coming in clutch at the end of things.

"One thing remains which frustrates me. I have not yet seen any notion of input from your central authority, not even an observer such as myself," Cao Chun said. "How are we to know that the agreement made here will not simply be overruled when their attention turns this way?"
Not surprised he'd ask since they haven't really been brought up much.

Oh yes, despite everything, the aches and twinges, the weakness of her limbs, the dull and sluggish qi. Through pain and struggle, she had grasped the treasure at the end of the path.

They had won.

I would want some input from speakers on how it sounds to them and what they think. But I'll add it to my vote for now.
