I just forsee Polar Theo favor being both more important for the next steps of the summit and for after the summit itself while high White Plumes just doesn't feel like it's that important beyond keeping it non-negative.

Not only is it imo an understandable and largely reasonable concern for them, i really want the extra point of buffer so that we're not one PT point away from losing out on 'every faction above 0'
 
I dunno I'm sitting here wondering what high realms we could stick down here given that the Cai, y'know, aren't really a ducal clan and are seeing a plausible future where it's something like a Wang violet and then an indigo from each of the Luo, Jia, Diao, and Bao.

Not sure how I feel about that.

Now on the bright side, yrs had to hurriedly edit in those 4 indigos because he'd forgotten that we'd already agreed on stationing violets here, so the numbers lining up that perfectly probably wasn't planned.

Otoh, the numbers do now line up that perfectly :V

The neutral option is best for now. Let's not burn that WP boon so quickly, it'll be needed at some point. The ministry can take the punch this time, it has to be done, even if they don't like it, for the sake of keeping the peace.
 
I would like to say though that @yrsillar has done a really good job at pulling all our decisions together, and making them feel like they all led up to this.

Things like Xuan Shi getting a chicken couldn't have been planned - and could have easily not happened at all - but they've come together in a way that makes it feel like our choices have mattered and that we're being rewarded for making the right calls and that's really nice.

We didn't risk our life to earn that favorability, it was just a bonus. Even aside from the White Sky deserving a strong concession after what they put up with it's worth spending those points to get the Theocracy out of the danger zone. We can live with White Plume favorability at 3.

Since you were getting on my case about terrible trades, what exactly does this get us? +1 White Sky (since even the lowest option defaults to +1) at the cost of a Ministry point isn't that great. At least the Theocracy point is something that's pretty hard to get and shores up a front that has absolutely no buffer right now.

I value getting one more point of White Sky in exchange for a single lost MOI point more than I value getting one more point of PT in exchange for two lost WP points.

We have in the past managed to actually literally skip arguments because of how high WS and ES together are, and so that extra point of WS seems worth it if it's in exchange for only a single lost point elsewhere.

The Polar Theocracy is the White Sky's chicken to chase, and there's people on that side also invested in how this goes that are better positioned to placate them. I don't think it's Ling Qi's place, standing where she is, to burn that many resources for that little in return.
