Well that's the thing, he couldn't exactly delete her given the tournament. I mean he could have tried, but that might not have succeeded and would risk pissing off Malkimon in her own territory which is no bueno. Instead he chose to go for humiliation and taking away her best tool, permanently weakening her and taking away one of the few things she seemed to have attatchment cared for. He wanted to hurt her, and taking away her sword was the best option he had.

Remember that Morningstar views her as a sort of power obsessed sociopath, and her sword was a feral digimon not a *real person*. Angemon felt very justified in doing it.

He is entitled to feel that way but in my head that would still be a sticking point for verge he didn't target the one that wronged him he targeted something else. He killed someone(or some thing if your uncharitable) that did him no harm.

I am not a fan of sins of the father shit

[x] Until we spoke now, I thought I had an answer. But now? Your words, they remind me of something. Something my caretaker when I was rookie told me. I wonder, despite all of my strength and all I have accomplished, would Gramps have been proud of the mon I have become? I... am going to have to meditate on this.

I do think this is a question Verge would legit wonder if himself regardless.

[X] "I know there are those that I have ended the path of whom did not deserve it." You think briefly of Chackmon. "Such is unfortunately the way of war, especially when I was weaker. Mercy is the privilege of the strong, and I try to indulge it as best I can. I do not seek out conflict for it's own sake. I am a Shield, not a sword. I defend my companions and friends. But those who feel I have wronged them, I will give them one chance. And let that be the end of it. Either I win, and let them live, or they win and claim their own vengeance. But it ends there. If they cannot accept that, then that is their choice, as are the consequences."
-[X] He brings up a good point and you have spared people whom have tried to kill you before. But the difference is those people targeted you. If someone tried to revenge themselves against you by slaying someone you cared for instead of targeting you the one that wronged them? You would give those no mercy.

[X] Everyone gets one, which is to say, it would be the height of hypocrisy to say that others don't deserve vengeance against your own works--you strive to not delete more than you must at your current level, but you cannot necessarily claim that all of those who have met the end of their path at your hands had none who cared for them either. Nor are you one who seeks to bathe in a sea of shattered data, too fearful of potential consequences to let a single weak foe walk away, potentially able to grow mighty enough to threaten you. So, everyone gets one shot to challenge you for vengeance, with no grudge, and no deletions, or another means of making amends. You are strong enough now to have the luxury of showing mercy against most. But it would be absurd to maintain an open door policy, where any with a grievance against you can try again and again--as your strength has grown, so have your obligations and responsibilities, and neither of those are things you can set down so lightly. One free shot, where they can attempt to gain their vengeance by challenging you to battle when their life is not on the line, or seek redress in some other fashion. But after that is done, it is finished. Persistence can be an admirable trait, but one should never seek to count on their foe to show unlimited forbearance either, a second such challenge would not be so gentle

Okay first off all,why is the Sephirot suddenly caring about there being another demon lord potentially being evil when the are teaming up with the gloaming and one of their spirits to Repulsa?

Second didn't this guy take up the positron as the Sephirot's executioner? If so is this way of questioning his own actions for all those he kills now?

I do think this is a question Verge would legit wonder if himself regardless.
I believe out of character Drex already answered that one.

It think said gramps so would be proud at how strong and good a fighter verge became but also upset that the server forced such a peaceful mon into becoming the way he was.

I think ancientgreymon is old enough and smart enough to realize Verge is going to be a big deal(tm) .

They want to get his measure and figure out if he's going to be a diehard enemy or someone that can be reasoned with.

Because they've tried to kill us (well wind did) and they are likely going to be dragged into a war soon. They want to know if that means we'll hold a grudge or if Verge will be more chill.

And I believe the combination vote is a clear message back. Ya get one swing and that one swing is at us. If ya whiff that one swing our beef is done. If ya take a swing at our protected people. Then you just put yourself on a shit list.

[X]Yes, you would delete them if they came seeking your life. If they would run to their own deaths, then so be it.

Here we go again vengeance this vengeance that can mon kill something without moral dilema, sick of this and that freaking spider kid talk

Added a small twist to the write-in, mainly to add a bit of tiger to balance the knight, and to underline how when we say "a chance" we mean it. Only those strong enough are given such ultimatum, and those who aren't will get their chance to grow in power. I wouldn't find it odd for Verge to train such a mon himself, for it is only right they get a chance to impose their will on the world if they have the willpower and potential for it.

Of course there are other misuse of power that I feel Verge would immediately punish, even lethally, such as murdering innocents, so in this hypothetical I am considering an otherwise just individual who wants Verge dead for personal reasons (not such an impossible situation honestly).

Because it's a Demon Lord. That's a big threat, and they don't want to work with Astamon beyond wha's necessary.

And perhaps.

Ah, I'm sorry. We'll get back to the good punchy bits soon.

[X] "If they bring harm to others simply for association with me in their pursuit of vengeance, then yes I will return the deed in kind. if they should keep their hatred upon me & not sweep the undeserving up in their path of destruction then I will return the favor just as assuredly by focusing on them only so long as they actively oppose me, I do not wish to repeat the mistakes of the past but neither will I just roll over if that past comes knocking"

Not much, but I made an attempt at a write-in as the others don't quite jive with me.

Mistress.
"Evil? We are above such meagre concepts such as good or evil!"
Meager as meagre is apparently a small european fish of some kind.
Garummon continues, still ignoring your lady, despite the Lilithmon's attempta to be threatening by waving her claws in fronts face.
Attempts.

That second part rings hollow after helping like the pinnacle gloaming evil achieve mega by handing over one of their sacred artefacts that they worship to make a god who would still be a servant the gloaming and thus a demon lord.

They are in way too deep now.

It does get a bit old when the morality of Verge and his revenge comes up when we've been slamming full speed ahead into it , or that we get the occasional vote of what does Verge believe when those are only snap shots of moments and could end up changing somehow.

Yes... but Verge isn't out of character.
Would he actually get an accurate answer from his pondering of old memories ? There could be a chance he draws the wrong conclusion which would suck because Verge wouldn't really be able to fix that.

We can be merciful once but we have set limits like everyone.

The problem I have is Chackmon really wasn't that much of an undeserved killing. We fought after he had bombed a locomon (I believe killing the locomon in question) and its derailment probably killed a few more weaker mon. I'm not saying he was evil, but he was a combatant during a time of war who knowingly flouted some of the preexisting unwritten rules of warfare in setting.

I think it's fair to say Verge does have regrets, and deleting Chackmon definitely made Verge feel bad at the time, but I don't think it really fits with the train of thought on morally justifiable vengeance. Chackmon was a bonafide killer in a time of war who attacked Verge, for all Verge doesn't like to think about it- I think the qualm has as much to do with Chackmon's childlike appearance and behavior than Verge killing someone for questionable reasons.
