While we will probably see both of them sooner or later due to hanging plot threads, we don't necessarily have an action which directly invokes Su Ling, but we do have an action directly invoking Suyin, so might as well go with grumpy fox girl first.

Ling Qi has had much more direct and personal relations with Guan Zhi than with Elder Su. First the tutelage as an army scout. Then the underground mission where Ling Qi earned her respect by saving the whole squad, she included, from Jiao's malfunctioning portal talisman. Guan Zhi was also present in the Caldera fight.
On the other hand, Elder Su's teaching was much more brief and impersonal. The 2 months at the start of the quest, when she taught a whole class of students, and little more.
If this arc is about Paying Respects, then it's only right to thank the person we have been in perilous battles with and have saved each other lives.
Furthermore, in the upcoming Ith-ia war we are bound to interact with Guan Zhi and probably go into some underground missions together. Its only sensible to foster a better relationship now to prepare for that.
Regarding Li Suyin and Su Ling. We are going to meet Li Suyin right after the Summit for the Diviner side quest, while Su Ling's Diao plot is further off. The previous arguments for not choosing Li Suyin+Su Ling applies more to Li Suyin than to Su Ling.
It's also the first time we have heard Su Ling receiving tutalage from Guan Zhi (she received caligraphy tutalage from another Core Disciple). Since they were both in the underground mission, I'm really interested to see what are they training for. How to better implement Su Ling's divination into military operations? That sounds as something useful to know before hand.
If I'm not forgetting something, we haven't talked with Su Ling since the whole dream encounter with her mother and Xisheng right? I think that Ling Qi would rather check on her than talk with Li Suyin who, again, she is going to go on an adventure with in just two months.
Besides, this is OOC knowledge, but we know that a fox kid was just retrieved by the Diao. I'm just itching to find out how Su Ling is dealing with that after her touching conversation with Gan Guangli.

not!Australia? When was it mentioned that there is a continent inside the Maelstorm? I remember the Explorer King talking about a closed off island, but that was not!Ireland.

We had an arc about Su Ling lately, and given her involvement with Gan Flexington, I suspect we'll see her more than Li Siyun. Also, I prefer talking to Elder Su than Guan Zhi.
