I think Ling Qi is definitely going to find some insight from this come next chapter: this is a Community centered around Music, which she wove together and with which her time is Ending and yet her leaving is also inspiring the growth of something new to replace her.

I don't really care about the finer details of spellcrafting, but I do care about giving Yu Nuan more screen time and cultivation aid.

This doesn't give her more screen time. That's just factually incorrect.
It does give her an item (which is not quite the same thing as a cultivation aid), but there are zero indications of a screen time increase.

I come back to the vote shocked. I had expected people to jump at the chance to fit more into a turn plan. Instead, people want more options, as if we're not overloaded with multi-option quests already. Like the wood shipment is nice...but when have we ever been offered the chance to reduce our action economy? This a rare opportunity, people! Like, I read through the arguments for the wood shipment option and I'm just not convinced. Yes, I'm curious what the new CoW option is too but the 2-in-1 option for BKSD is rare and needed.

Mandatory reminder that Ling Qi had to go through a hellish tribulation at Yellow (??? I don't fully remember) to even get a grasp of Music qi and that Music qi is what leta LQ communicate without words, but pure force of will.
An alternative resolution that can provide a Music site would be really helpful for our clan and our arts too. Plus, it provides a clean progression from Wind --> Music, instead of whatever crazy thing LQ did to get out of a Cyan-made blizzard at a lower realm.

This remains completely speculative with no actual evidence that it's what the wood does. Even if it does, I'd be very surprised if this was the only way to get Music added to the site.
Picking the wood is gambling that not only will whatever option it provides be better than the other available ones, but that it will be so much better it was worth giving up an action for, and I'm really skeptical of that being anywhere close to a sure thing.
It's a bonus to our personal power literally forever. This is not something that needs to be paid back and is thus only advantageous in the short term. It will literally last forever as a meaningful boost in Ling Qi's personal power. The amount will go down slightly in the very long term, but it'll never go away.
The wood might give an infrastructure boost of some sort, but that's speculation, not fact, and relies upon making a specific choice later down the line, which we might not even want to make (it's very plausible we'll find the other options more beneficial).
