she already thinks everything doesn't matter, but she still have a connection with everyone, So by repeating the breakdown again and again, she disconnect that connection, she only views them as a drone that just repeats the same line over and over again.
That's what I mean by gotten worse.

That's what I meant by her being just despairing, but not quite yet.

One foot in the grave as it was. Before the first Meltdown, Angela was likely very 'cheery' in comparison to her current self.

I wonder if DoSaM remembers the times when Angela wasn't who she is now (and tried to help more) or did DoSaM simply not think about it further?
Angela was already in that state of forever despair and cynical Before X arrived, so likely she gotten a bit worse, but she was not that much better to begin with.

To be more precise and add ro what Kailll is saying, one of her memories shows that she repeated something like five to six thousand days… before she even greeted the manager for the first time, and she only reached this point by deliberately sabotaging the Sephiroth, she was absolutely able to make it so that none of the problems we see in the game even begin, Netzch could have wanted to live, Yesod could've been warm and friendly, Hod could actually have her counseling work and so on and so forth.

The thing is, because Ayin wanted to be the one to save them, she couldn't progress if she did so, everytime she tried, the scenario reset.

Not even just that.

Ayin wanted to crush them in a pit of despair of their own sins and then drag them out of it forcibly through some kind of Light bullshit.

What Angela, in comparison, did was give them the correct advices so that they can go in the correct direction.

However, Ayin needed to actually be the one to save them because he realized the biggest problem standing in the way of the Seed of Light is himself. Who can only be defeated by himself.

All 3 versions of himself. Abel, Abraham, and Adam. They are the problems.

Ayin was fucked up. He was such a fuck up that when he made the Script, he likely couldn't even imagine the concept that anyone but him can do it. More specifically. Because of his infatuation with Carmen, he likely believes that unless he forcibly changes himself, no-one will do it for him.

The Ayin post-script would've probably done far better with how cruel the script was than the utter mess that was the Ayin pre-script.

I still maintain my opinion that Pre-Script (*evil spinning wheel noises*) Angela is the most precious thing in existence and deserved to be pampered.

Relevant:

Given that his only word to Angela when he finally meet her in the light are:

*Good job… and I'm sorry*

I think he agrees.

Oh my, the Ayin slander quotient in the thread is reaching unacceptable levels!

The point was to repair the Sephirot's relationships with Ayin specifically, and to revisit their old issues from back when they were still alive. I don't even think the upper-level Sephirot remember their previous lives at the start of the game, and I'm not sure they fully remember even after their core suppressions.

Them hanging out in the facility without Angela's malicious interference like you described would be more like blissful oblivion, I think. Not an unkind fate, but they were brought back for another purpose.

Ayin wanted to crush them in a pit of despair of their own sins and then drag them out of it forcibly through some kind of Light bullshit.
Not that. The reason he recreated their original trauma is to understand how it could have gone better, back then.

Also, he literally didn't know what to do anymore when he was designing the script, and thought he could figure it out if he had them by his side, at their best. The point of the script wasn't that they needed him, it was that he needed them (as he said in a Hokma scene, I believe).

In other words, Ayin remained very cool and big-brained even before the script, in the aftermath of Carmen's death. He had the sanity to realize he was insane, so to speak.

And, well, he seems to be one of the few people willing to do something about the hellhole that is the City, so that automatically makes him a practical saint compared to most everyone in the PMverse.

The only time Ayin ever fucked up is with Angela, make no mistake.

Thats what I meant with the rest of my post. Ayin needed to do it because of the A gang.

If merely guiding the old Lab gang through therapy was all he needed, it wouldnt be so harsh. BUT Ayin himself needed the shock therapy.

3 seperate times with 8 different lessons.

Could be, could be not.

It does make it quite confusing to read, as X's mindset would go from current X to past X, to close to current X again and you can't really rely on the days to keep an easier track.
Maybe it's not chronological - relooping time is something different from chronological, it's like a groove worn in those 40 days in lob corp, and X and Nothing There are experiencing parts of that eternity all at once. Being out of order, and being words instead of numbers, creates this jumbled feeling, like it's all in there at once.

I don't even think the upper-level Sephirot remember their previous lives at the start of the game, and I'm not sure they fully remember even after their core suppressions.

They do remember their first life at one point or another, Tiphereth talks about the fact that Tiphereth sometimes calls her Lisa, and she knows full well what he means by that, Hod's entire problem is that she remembers betraying the company, leading to everyone dying, Netzach explicitly tells you that he was only in this for Carmen, Gebura doesn't find it strange when Myo reference her having been the Red Mist, Chesed asks you if he was a coward when he let Garion in without resistance, Malkuth outright ask you if you have any idea how it felt for her when she was slowly dying and you didn't even look at her.

They do remember, at the very least post meltdown but most begins or have signs of it before, hell, Malkuth and Hod remembering is what lead to their respective meltdowns.

ayin is doing this to himself because he felt he is the most diseased out of all of them.
At that state, when he wrote the script, he is barely keeping himself together. And was in a severe depression and most likely wants to kill himself as soon as possible, His self hatred is crushing him alive, but he didn't.die.
He acknowledged that he is flawed, most likely the most flawed out of everyone in the old lab. He is prideful, he is neglective, and he doesn't care about anyone other than those who can help him on his path, which is make Carmen happy.
That girl that he fall in love with and cannot ever let go of.
So, For that Carmen in his memory. He wants to better himself, to be the final piece that Carmen was supposed to be, The glue that holds everyone back together and the one leads them towards a brighter tomorrow.
But sadly, he knows in this state, he cannot achieve this goal, His knowledge makes him blind to solutions, his hatred eat him alive from inside and his pride will slowly corrupt his view pf the seed. So he planned it out. He planned for a version of himself that doesn't know anything about this disgusting husk of a man, he planned for that him to be the one who leads everyone towards happiness.

He planned for this version of himself to be the one who he could not be.

So, he put himself through hell, because he wants the memory in his head to be happy. Because He knows that old Carmen do not want him to dwell on Her forever. So he moved forward. But his lover did not.

Ayin, is a flawed flawed man.
But, in the end. He only seeks happiness, He seeks a ending where he could lie down and smile upon the sun for he has done everything right.
He seeks fulfillment for this miserable life of his. And I can only wish that he could pull that lover of his back from that self indulgent hell where she is the god.

Intermission Prep
So, we've reached the end of Act 1. I already had my little speech, so I won't bore you with sentiments and just get to the point.

There are two chapters left before the Timeskip. One Main Chapter to clean things up, and another to give a sneak peak at the future (plus some insight into everyone's favorite murder monster and their current state of mind). For that timeskip, there are a few big decisions to make. The effects of these votes will take place in and after the time skip, as implied by X being in contact with Angela.

———

You have come into possession of a large number of disembodied Soul Gems. They're stabilised now, but getting them back to their bodies is still a high priority. You have a few options to deal with them.

[] (Soul Gems) Regeneration

- Magical Girls possess a natural ability to recover from injuries. You can stimulate this capability to slowly grow back the bodies of the fallen Magical Girls, although this method will take a significantly longer amount of time than the others and will likely result in notable psychological trauma during the process.

[] (Soul Gems) Cloning

- Replicating a body is easy with the City's technology. The mind is normally a much larger issue, but one that is largely voided by the functionality of Soul Gems. If you can assemble the necessary materials, you can clone new bodies for the Soul Gems to connect to. Time required is dependent on how long it takes to acquire resources. Your actions will probably be noticed by some people in law enforcement unless you can get Kyubey to deal with it, and said creature will be watching you regardless.

[] (Soul Gems) Library

- Hand them over to Angela, who already has a system to easily create bodies for people. Instantaneous and painless, but bodies of Light are restrained to the Library.

[] (Soul Gems) Wish

- Should you Wish it, you can do pretty much anything. Of course, there's no telling how Kyubey's Contract would affect you.

[] (Soul Gems) Write-in

———

As a consequence of being forced to use a Magic she no longer possessed, Kyoko Sakura's Soul Gem has received extreme damage. In its current state, she cannot recover. You can fix this.
[] (Kyoko) Wings

- For all the powers of L Corp's Singularity, there are others whose utilities are better suited to healing. While you personally had little contact with the other Wings, L Corp was universally appreciated by its fellow Corporations. You can leverage that goodwill for a meeting, but you don't expect it to stand in for an actual price in what you're asking. A deal is not guaranteed, and Kyoko's state is somewhat time-sensitive. Requires skirting around the Head's laws and the Library's banishment and risks an active response.

[] (Kyoko) Phenomenon

- Angela has informed you of a unique consequence of high exposure to the Light. Some outcomes are more favorable than others, but regardless of the result a person rarely retains injuries that they do not consider as integral to their identity afterwards. You can stoke this process and even guide it, repairing the damage to Kyoko's Soul. Considering Kyoko's life and recent experiences, manifestation of Distortion is highly likely. Not choosing this option does not prevent the Phenomenon from occurring in the future.

[] Kyoko) Wish

- Should you Wish it, you can do pretty much anything. Of course, there's no telling how Kyubey's Contract would affect you.

[] (Kyoko) Write-in

———

This vote is not an immediate thing, and will remain open until after the hiatus ends and Act 2 begins.

I really wish some soul gem belonged to some magia record character, except for the fact that if it did, then they would be suffering in the worst way possible.

Okay. First thing first.

Dumping the kids onto Auntie Angela has its advantages. She is the most capable person to deal with them if they decide to go wonky-bonky.
However. The downside is, we can't let them go back home. While I have little to no doubt their lives would be somewhat improved living with Angela, I can't for the life of me approve of letting the girls trade their freedom when we have other options.

I am leaning toward the Cloning option due to this. Plus, with the Cloning option, X will get a chance to better check on QB's Exposure. There's also the chance of us being able to understand an MG's body much better with this, potentially curing the Grief problem entirely.

Remember, QB doesn't exactly need Witches to generate energy. Witches just generate the most energy.

Perhaps Angela would one day find a way to leave the Library. But generally speaking, I don't approve of putting the kids in a prison.

So sorry sis, but no. I'm keeping the Kids.

Second, there's the Wings and the Phenomenon.

Suffice to say. While our general mood might be "Fuck Carmen" due to her being an asshole. It's obvious that the Wings option is fucking stupid.

Like. Ultra. Mega. Stupid.

[X] Plan: Self-Sufficient
-[X] (Soul Gems) Cloning
--[X] Research Grief preventative measures while you do so.
-[X] (Kyoko) Phenomenon
--[X] Do it with Homura on standby.

So we have a way to the world of The City at large. That's... Interesting to know. I'm not sure what exactly I'm voting yet, besides that wishes should probably be a last resort.
What I do know is that between The City and Carmen's shenanigans, for Kyoko, I'd rather deal with Kyoko distorting.

As for the others, bodies made of light is probably a decent stopgap that can be used to ask them what the hell they want their ultimate fate to be, while cloning lets them move about in the worlds at large. Regeneration... that should probably only be used on those that are willing to do so.

I'm also currently unsure as to what we have that we could even use as payment for getting K Corp to assist with this, and that would be the company most likely asked because of known healing abilities. (AFAIK, the only other options being... basically R corp or T corp for cloning or literally rewinding Kyoko, respectively, and R corp is a long shot for being asked.)

Information of Singularities (yours or others, Angela still knows how W Corp works), Enkephalin, that sort of thing. Lobotomy Corporation has close contacts with R and T Corp and looser affiliations with M and K Corp.

Even in her worse moments, Carmen is infinitely nicer than the Wings.

Sure, they like L-Corp. All of them do really. But a Wing liking you is like a cannibal in District 23 liking you.

[X] (Soul Gems) Abnormality-Assisted Regeneration

- The numerous healing-capable Abnormalities the Library possesses will make the regeneration process faster and less traumatic, without restricting the physical bodies to the Library's space. Notable candidates for this task are Queen of Hatred, Child of the Galaxy, Opened Can of Wellcheers. More dangerous options include Firebird, Melting Love, WhiteNight. If Angela possesses the Tool Abnormalities' books, then Luminous Bracelet, Express Train to Hell may also be utilized.

Note: I think it's something of a long shot, but trying wouldn't hurt, especially given the Abnormalities' conceptual nature. I also might have forgotten some healing Abnos, feel free to remind me.

Failing this, I'd vote for Cloning. Kyubey already already knows how to do it anyway.

That reminds me. Lepi.
It's been demonstrated several times that our char sheet is/may be incomplete (eg: Pulse/Pink soldiers blowing up not being there); is that also true for DoSaM's?

In the previous update we also witnessed an attempt to get around the limitation of Lobotomy not affecting Abnormalities which seems to have done something - so can we trust that the given text can be treated as absolute/at face value, or are there circumstances where they may not be true or bent around?

We did saw it get bent around with the recent chapter. X didn't use Lobotomy to change NT, but to directly attack her.
