Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Focus on Katrina
-[X] Activate shintai
-[X] Activate GSF as soon as you can
-[X] Activate IPM by spending a point of willpower

With GSF even if we only hit Katrina for one damage, we up it by four more.
Costs 1 essence, but that's definitely worth it for a foe this dangerous.

I remember some part of Katrina's kit failing if we run IPM, so let's do that too.

Now would be a great time for Lydia to focus fully on the thing her powers are meant to put to permanent rest.
We can get ourselves a Valkyrie-skull to start our collection.

[X] Focus on Capricorpus
- [X] Round two, fight! Leave Gard to tackle her target, we have a possessed father to save.

Capricorpus is the one doing the actual ritual. Katrina is playing security. We need to not get distracted by security while we deal with the actual threat - That the ritual will be completed.

I doubt any of them will be doing the ritual while a fight is ongoing.

Getting ones hand bumped during a ritual aint pretty.

Cowl learned that the hard way during Halloween by way of Harry.

The man goes "Must I do everything?" while scrambling for the ritual knife he was just forced to drop. What about that makes you think he ISN'T trying to rush through the ritual so he can kill us using the stolen power of a god?

Stab the ghost dead, let the Valkyries fight it out until we can swing back in to help turn the tide.

[X] Focus on Katrina, she's dangerous but she can bleed, and we've got just the sword to prove it.
-[X] Leave Capricorpus for Gard. The spirit reacted with obvious fright when it first saw Gard through Lydia's eyes. Who better to deal with a recalcitrant ghost than a Chooser of the Slain?

I don't see the Ankou here. While Corpsetaker was doing a ritual, s/he didn't seem to be doing the ritual to steal his power.

Molly doesn't know about it.

IDK if we can vote for it ourselves?
I think we can, but now probably isn't the time.

For one we need three seconds of focus to actually make the shift. For another we want to hold out as long as reasonably possible without it so we can maximize the returns on the health refresh.
temporal invisibility'
If it was just a stealth effect, how did she actually manage to surprise Molly. The bit above about green light implies her anima banner is up, and it explicitly blocks ambush and surprise attacks even from invisible opponents.

It is not a stealth effect, that was me being glib, it is more akin to teleportation only she has to walk through the frozen instant and she cannot do a bunch of things in it so no stacking infinite time effects.

She does not know what it does consciously, but you guys can still vote to fire it up, that is how she finds out.
Hm.

It'll cost us a turn, but honestly I do not see a better time for it.

I thought only the City Still Stands gives automatic activation together with the health refresh.

While activating it now merely switches us to the Shintai-health track while our normal one stays at two wounds for once we switch back.

Can we use the Crown to learn Capriocorpus' name?

Then we can learn Iron Shade Binding to summon them and wring out every drop of knowledge about the Black Council that they have.

Fair enough, though even if she can't react in time for it to matter it seems weird for Molly to not understand what's happening due to surprise when she has a surprise blocker up.

Poor phrasing on my part; I meant refresh in the context of the fight due to the track switch.

Mechanically she was not surprised, she is not going to get any maluses because of this, but I figure fluff wise if I write someone who has just been shot point blank in the head, even if they are mostly fine, they should be at least a little confused.

I've got to admit, I'd like to see the Shintai be used as something of a 'phase 2' transformation.

I think it's the Dark Souls player in me that wants to see the shoe on the other foot.

I'm pretty bad at keeping track of health tracks in these sorts of quests, are we at all close to half health? I like drama and showmanship but I'm not keen to go too close to the wire, not without the City Still Stands at least.

We are at 5/7 with our two wounds. Once we have four wounds we start getting penalties, the 6th is a really big penalty.

The 7th knocks us out of the fight.

Health Levels: 0//0/0//-1/-1//-4//Inc

We have the charm to ignore wound penalties.
That charm doesn't completely negate them, it reduces them by 1 which is already included in the quote I gave.
System: The Infernal reduces all wound penalties by one, her movement penalties do not degrade any further when Crippled or Incapacitated, and she does not fall unconscious when her Incapacitated health box is filled with bashing damage. This Charm's effects are permanent.
