If they are trying to pull some tricksy bullshit. On Molly Carpenter. Who is currently decked out in what is probably iron weapons and armor.I don't think it's a trick, she's calling in a marker to get them to help.
Never underestimate human stupidity. The Crown of Eyes isn't an asshole genie, it's a spark of Intellectus in the context of the DF setting that can be set to one cause or another. It'll answer your question as thoroughly and clearly as it can.
My understanding is if you say save a fey life they are in-debt to until the preform equivalent acts in repayment. But you can say get me a pizza, and say that clears the debt in its entirety. Fey can't do that but mortals can, clear debts to them for minor effort.I don't think it's a trick, she's calling in a marker to get them to help.
Depending on what we learn from the more general question, we could narrow down our insight down for a question about an individual later on.
Uh, Sidenote: is us using the crown going to make us flare up in atomic fire? Even so, I guess we'll just burn innocuously in the corner and gather information.
Luckily, we have:3 Essence = Anima, so I think it will?
Anyway, I'm just going to toss an explanation in now that we have a moment to breathe.
Anima Control
The Exalt's anima is restrained until they have spent 4 Essence in a scene
Can we ask questions like that? I thought we needed to ask for information about the world, not for plans or courses of action.[X] Use the crown of eyes to ask. What is the best thing WE can do to help our mother and Dresden in this situation.
Should we mention that now? That reads like a good approach for this situation, but I don't see why we should give Summer free information by talking about this now.[X] Talk to your mother about the deal you made and what it means
-[X] 'It wasn't really something specific' you blurted out, now that you had a moment of quiet while Harry chatted with the newcomers. 'Not like I swore to serve anyone or anything, in fact he explicitly said I could do whatever I wanted and I just needed to pick it up and.' In hindsight, you're not really helping much, but you feel like if you let things sort of play out on their own here, without even trying to set the record straight, it'll cost you something important. 'I mean, I don't feel like I've got to be all cackling evil, or corrupt or sinister or anything, just that I've got a tap to some kind of magic nuclear reactor that I can just dial up and down which includes a magic sword that comes out of my soul, and I'm not really helping am I? Dad is going to be so mad with me, isn't he?'
It's a bit spaghetti-fell-out but I think that actually works here. And to be entirely honest, the best time to be discussing something like this is when we're getting a free universal boost because of the environment, plus, the emotions are still high so that nobody can really call it some clever scheme or something. It's an investment to make things a bit easier later on! Hopefully!
Should we mention that now? That reads like a good approach for this situation, but I don't see why we should give Summer free information by talking about this now.
*Shrug*Can we ask questions like that? I thought we needed to ask for information about the world, not for plans or courses of action.
It's the Crown of Eyes, not the Crown of Strategy.
The question goes directly to DPs desk.Anima Power: While intensely studying an object, situation, or individual that is within her line of sight, the Infernal may spend 1 Essence and ask one question about it,which the Storyteller must answer honestly. The Infernal can only ever use this power a single time on any object, situation, or individual. When the character's anima is flaring, great staring eyes open within its emerald flames, and the Infernal becomes impossible to ambush or strike with an unexpected attack, even if her foe is invisible.
It's somewhat of a choice between Molly attempting to somewhat wrest control of the situation by using the tools she just had grafted to her to learn how everyone stands to benefit from this incursion and her rescue. Or, she attempts to connect with her mother and reassure her she's still her daughter and not just some entity wearing her face.I mean, it doesn't give them anything actionable is what my focus was on, nothing that Aurora probably hasn't already intuited, and as I said, the important thing is to establish right now that Molly isn't some walking demon-vessel first.
Does it establish that? They have no reason to believe that without testing Molly. Or for her specific assurances to actually mean anything if she is in the driver's seat. The "free power if you just pick it up" sounds almost identical to many of the Denarian's pitches.I mean, it doesn't give them anything actionable is what my focus was on, nothing that Aurora probably hasn't already intuited, and as I said, the important thing is to establish right now that Molly isn't some walking demon-vessel first.
We're in a movie theatre in Chicago. It's somewhat of a choice between Molly attempting to somewhat wrest control of the situation by using the tools she just had grafted to her to learn how everyone stands to benefit from this incursion and her rescue. Or, she attempts to connect with her mother and reassure her she's still her daughter and not just some entity wearing her face.
I see the appeal in both choices, but I'd prefer stalling the latter until later for now since we're still in the middle of Arctis Tor.
I guess it's fine as long as no names are mentionedI mean, it doesn't give them anything actionable is what my focus was on, nothing that Aurora probably hasn't already intuited, and as I said, the important thing is to establish right now that Molly isn't some walking demon-vessel first.
Must have missed the transition if that's the case. My bad.Does it establish that? They have no reason to believe that without testing Molly. Or for her specific assurances to actually mean anything if she is in the driver's seat. The "free power if you just pick it up" sounds almost identical to many of the Denarian's pitches.
The level of detail you're suggesting isn't actionable, but it is vastly more than they currently have. In that it tells them anything at all about what Molly is.
We're in a movie theatre in Chicago.
Even if we were our mother would probably try and kill the Fey for implying that.I mean, it doesn't give them anything actionable is what my focus was on, nothing that Aurora probably hasn't already intuited, and as I said, the important thing is to establish right now that Molly isn't some walking demon-vessel first.
Molly should know better, and so should everyone else here.
I guess it's fine as long as no names are mentioned
Edit: Actually what if we just state that we're the same person we were and aren't possessed and encourage Harry to use a soul gaze to verify if he thinks it necessary
Then call her father and then do the soul gaze and which part of the scene requires Harry's participation?Don't be stupid, we need Harry functional right now, and a Soul Gaze while Molly's New Soul Sword is out will shut him down until he can process it.
I think I also second this for now. Staring at the fusion of a ancient power older than the current order of the world and a mortal's soul just sounds like a terrible idea barring any weird partitioning of soul portions. Especially with all the information a Soul Gaze seems to give you.Don't be stupid, we need Harry functional right now, and a Soul Gaze while Molly's New Soul Sword is out will shut him down until he can process it.
