Grand Army of the Republic: A Star Wars Plan Quest

A question for the thread: I noticed it when I was reading the turn updates but thought the plan makers knew what they are doing but since the QM himself commented on it I have to ask: Why did we invest so much into expanding our contracts?

Because A) that's the Sith's money so wasting it is a good deed, and B) for the Republic!
Kriff The Sith!!!!

I mean, this is a plan-quest, we had the money, and we don't like the guy holding the purse so why not? :D

Considering how well we have done in supplying and building the army, why would they decide to replace us in managing the supply side of it?

Because the point of the clones for Palpatine is to get close to their jedi commanders so they won't suspect the clones will shoot them in the back when order 66 comes around.

Letting us command the army is the opposite of what Palpatine wants.

No, not in command of the army, more a position of head quartermaster or something. We are in charge of the supply lines to the army, the unglamorous logistics work, while the Jedi get the glory of fighting the enemies of the Republic.

Because he's giving those jobs out to his New Order Flunkies, like Raith Seinar
And considering how good a job we have done in doing said work ourselves, why would he replace us in being the intermediary between the two of them? Palpatine is a politician, so he should already know the power delegating jobs to those he can trust to do them properly holds. I mean, I doubt his idea of a reward for success is a bullet to the brainpan while he rewards those who fail in their jobs with noble positions. The reward for good work oftentimes is more work, and I don't see why this would be different.

Jango's contract doesn't extend beyond the activation of the clone army. Once the war starts and the clones go into battle, the job's over for him.

Not when he has a meticulously crafted master plan he needs to execute with this. We're a wildcard in all that.

I firmly believe that if Jango hadn't died at Geonosis, Palpatine would have had him killed anyway as a loose end.

Jango's contract doesn't extend beyond the activation of the clone army. Once the war starts and the clones go into battle, the job's over for him.

There you go, word of QM

To be clear, Jango doesn't have a spot waiting for him in the GAR. He certainly has enough pull that he could get one, but once the Jedi show up and take command of the clones, his contract is over and he will be unemployed.

Of course then it would be time to take on contracts for the CIS for the development of the Droid Army units.

It's funny you think those contracts exist.

Remember the CIS cut all kinds of corners on the droid army to keep costs down. Quality battledroids are too expensive for the corporate overlords to even think about producing in numbers

That's not even including the technical faults Palpatine wanted put into certain droid models so the CIS didn't upset his carefully choreographed war.

Our exemplary service is the opposite of what they want for Droid development.

Technically they do exist and were developed by the CIS Council.

Dooku and Palpy sabotaged/shut down them when they are too effective.

Yes, they exist, in extremely limited production runs and they were withdrawn and sabotaged shortly after introduction.

Dooku and Palpatine don't want the droids too effective

This plus the fact we both are a loose end and one of possibly a number of people that know too much makes me think we should start embezzling as much as we can, get our new associates, skip town (so to speak), and lay low through the Clone Wars. Although I think we should also see about leaving a farewell present for the Jedi counsel in the form of a bunch of evidence against Palpy. Technically it would be a duel farewell present for both the Jedi and Palpy, one strange and one most unwelcome .

Did we ever do much with the evidence that sheev is a sith lord? Im guessing it will pop up in the epilogue.

A bit curious if we missed other options that would have done more with the info.
