Grand Army of the Republic: A Star Wars Plan Quest

I can just imagine the jedi in charge of this investigation breaking his head trying to figure out whose buying whole armies worth of raw materials and then being summoned before the Jedi council to explain his findings but having nothing to present other tHan they are buy a lot.

Hmm, will we eventually get an option to send a message to the Jedi asking them to come inspect their new Grand Army? Because the thought of them trying for years to crack the secret only to be invited in after all that time is hilarious.

I wonder what's are the thoughts of the various Negaverse quests.

Chancellor quest is probably either ecstatic about all the jedi killing troops or worried how there going to micromanage both army's now.

Confederacy quest is probably curious about why ole Plapy is letting them build up so openly and is nervous about the implications.

And Jedi council quest is cursing there dice to high hell and back.

Meanwhile Judicial NegaQuest is having an absolute panic attack because they're interpreting all these arms deals, especially the ones coming out of Mandalore, as a sign that the Shadow Collective has formed way ahead of time and are running around frantically preparing to counter Maul going all out from the start of the war.

Perhaps it might be time to start looking into off-world locations.

Does this mean it will be possible to build up the Kaminoan moon of Korasa?

Original Goals (Q1 25 BBY to Q4 23 BBY)
Construct 7 Dreadnoughts. (+15 SS)
Complete Cloning Operations (Phase 12) by Q4 25 BBY (+5 SS)
Complete Cloning Operations (Phase 13) by Q4 24 BBY (+5 SS)
Complete Cloning Operations (Phase 14) by Q4 23 BBY (+5 SS)

Infrastructure (8 Dice): +20

[] Expand into Tipoca City (Phase 9)
Tipoca City is the capital city of Kamino and where your initial cloning operations are located. You will need more room for your operations to expand and to do so, you need to clear up space in Tipoca City to be used for your purposes.
(36/900, 15 Resources per Die) (++++ Facilities)

[] Expand into Timira City (Phase 4)
Timira City is a secondary major settlement located in the northern regions of the planet. You have expanded your operations to Timira City, but there is still plenty of space that you can make use of over there.
(120/400, 15 Resources per Die) (++++ Facilities)

[] Expand into Tidema City (Phase 6)
Tidema City is a secondary major settlement located in the southern regions of the planet. You have expanded your operations to Tidema City, but there is still plenty of space that you can make use of over there.
(4/600, 15 Resources per Die) (++ Facilities)

[] Expand into Tibara City (Phase 5)
Tibara City is a secondary major settlement located in the eastern regions of the planet. You have expanded your operations to Tibara City, but there is still plenty of space that you can make use of over there.
(97/500, 15 Resources per Die) (+++ Facilities)

[] Expand into Titala City (Phase 5)
Titala City is a secondary major settlement located in the western regions of the planet. You have expanded your operations to Titala City, but there is still plenty of space that you can make use of over there.
(122/500, 15 Resources per Die) (+++ Facilities)

[] Construct Indoor Farms (Phase 6)
With all of these clones that you will be making, you are going to need to feed them all. While purchasing all of it from the nearby Abrion sector can be done if it proves necessary, you can hide just how many people who need to feed by constructing some farms on Kamino.
(59/600, 15 Resources per Die) (---- Facilities, +++++ Logistics)

[] Local Shield Generators (Phase 2)
As you continue to build up Kamino, you may want to look into protecting your investments. Shield generators would be expensive, but setting up one in each major city would be a good way to minimise any damage done by an attack, be it a raid or a full-scale invasion.
(1/300, 50 Resources per Die) (-- Facilities)

[] Planetary Defence Network (Phase 2)
As you continue to build up Kamino, you may want to look into protecting your investments. Setting up a series of defensive outposts and turbolaser turrets will greatly help fend off any invaders and latter stages could include weapon emplacements capable of engaging warships in orbit.
(36/200, 30 Resources per Die) (-- Facilities)

[] Off-World Expansion (Phase 1)
While Kamino has proven sufficient so far, you are rapidly approaching the limits of the watery world's ability to support a project of this size. As you have no intention of slowing down, you will need to expand your operations to other planets though this will make secrecy harder to maintain.
(0/100, 25 Resources per Die, +1 E per Die) (++++ Facilities)

Industry (10 Dice): +30

Training (7 Dice): +30

[] Expand Commando Training (Phase 9)
With the completion of the commando courses, you will have a small batch of clone commandos once the trainees are old enough. They are a marginal amount compared to the rest of the army however and further expansions are required to increase the number of clone commandos that will be trained. Fortunately, Kal Skirita's new methods should make the training process quicker and more efficient.
(44/100, 25 Resources per Die) (+ Commandos per turn, -Trainers)

[] Clone Trainers (Phase 11)
As the clone cadets begin to come of age and finish their training, it is possible to start them to work assisting your Mandalorian trainers. While it would take some time to give them the proper instruction on how to train others, it could be done and help supplement your reserves of available teachers and trainers. After some serious failures and inefficiencies with the previous method, you have gone from training an entire batch of clones at once to training the adult clones with the most attitude for the task.
(54/100, 15 Resources per Die) (++ Trainers)

[] Burying Secrets
The clone army is supposed to be a secret which means this whole affair is supposed to be secret. When too many things begin to start pointing in your direction, you need to bury them before people come poking out. Of particular note, the Jedi Order has been actively investigating what they can of your operations.

New turn with a new project in Infrastructure to get more Facilities quicker at the expense of Exposure. Beyond that, keep your goals in mind because you got one that needs to be completed this quarter.

Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to.

[] Expand Clone Production (Phase 12)
You have completed the initial batch of clones, but the army is still going to need plenty more soldiers. Now you need to work on expanding the current cloning operations to allow for more clones to be produced at once.
(321/450, 15 Resources per Die) (------- Facilities, ------- Logistics, ------ Trainers, +1,024 Clones)

So that's 64 Facilities, 64 Logistics, and 32 Trainers.

We have

Facilities: Overwhelming Surpluses (+50)
Production: Major Surpluses (+38)
Logistics: Overwhelming Surpluses (+58) (+15 per turn)
Trainers: Significant Surpluses (+43) (+2 per turn)

Everything but Facilities.

Seriously, we couldn't have bought a Lucrehulk somehow? :V

We can just manage it, I think, if we luck out on our Stage 4 and Stage 5 City expansions, but honestly?

I think our winning move is to put 8 Dice on Offworld Expansion and hope the Jedi roll like shit.

We're going to need to do the action next year anyway, so dropping this on the turn where either the Sith are going to Put Up Or Shut Up about keeping us hidden is probably going to be our best chance at getting the Facilities we need before our deadlines.

@Oshha Why can't we just build our own floating city on Kamino? If a dreadnought is 1,500 production, a new floating city should be no more than 2000 max and we wont be running out of space ever. It might cost a lot more recources but we have more than enough of them.

We should probably put more work into the planetary defence network because Palpy might try and "Regulate" or clone production by a Surprise confederacy "inspection" once the war starts in order to better micromanage his armys.

No option to tear down factories still? I do believe there was a promise that would become an option once we couldn't expand quickly any more!
It was suggested by voters in the thread, but I never committed to the idea as the QM.

It is a matter of time. You don't quickly a new city under hostile conditions so while it would require a lot of progress and dice rolls.

Our primary issue is space at the moment. If we can't meet our Clone Production Goals, then- grumpy Sith?

I don't actually know what they'd do so late into the process.

@Oshha what actually happens if we fail to meet a goal? Sith Support loss? Or more direct measures?

I'd say "They couldn't possibly kill off Jango so late into the process, this entire thing hinges on him" but this is Sith we're dealing with, they'd stare us in the eyes beyond the Fourth Wall as they stabbed Jango through the chest.

Try it and find out.

Never underestimate a Sith's ability to self-sabotage.

I'm wondering about a hypothetical smear campaign on some other faction; what if we tried to implicate another group for all the sudden rush of military equipment? CIS is out due to them having been given an exemption by the Senate - but maybe a criminal faction?

Actually the Senate passed a bill that allows the megacorps to build up their private military forces to protect themselves from pirates and the like.

So people like the Trade Federation, Banking Clan and Techno Union are openly and legally building up their droid armies.
What I'm hearing here is that we need to start a megacorp to act as a cover.
...
And, weirdly, that seems like a better idea every time I reread it.
Hmm, will we eventually get an option to send a message to the Jedi asking them to come inspect their new Grand Army? Because the thought of them trying for years to crack the secret only to be invited in after all that time is hilarious.
Even better is the fact that they can't even command it in more than the most general of senses. There literally are not enough Jedi even if we press-ganged everyone from Knight on up. Rather than Generals personally interacting with things, getting down and dirty with the troops, they would be more or less forced to stay at the Sector Army level or else become as unnoticeable as the titular character in a 'Where's Waldo' picture book. "Alright, we've got an army... and right now I feel about as useful as a pair of tits on a boar."

And that was the story of how Palpatine defeated the Jedi Council with chronic depression and alcoholism.

Other than expanding the Clone production the obvious problem the other big problem remains lighter escorts even if the Arquites helped with the problem we still need anti-fighter corvettes like the CR-90 or the Mandalorian design though I prefer not to use that one since its quality 2. I see several options to solve that problem. One we accept the exposure in exchange for expanding the contract or two we begin local production which of course has the problem of taking away from the Dreadnought production.

In the short to medium term after expanding clone production we should probably get more RX-200 Assault tanks to boost our amor to be more in line with the other items or SPHAAT for more artillery, or LAAT/Cs to make use of the fact that we don't have exposure risks from Rothana and give us the same reserves of equipment as say our TXs or AT-TE. I would also like more bombers but it's not an immediate priority and has exposure risks.

Long term we need to expand the Shield Generator to get a planetary shield and Planetary defenses since as has been mentioned before Palpatine is going to send an attack sometime during the war and we want Kamino to be able to hold out until relieved. After that and if we can get the escorts for them, we might want more Venators since again the Confederacy is a fighter and bomber heavy force and we already have a significant Star Destroyer force without the same corresponding number of carriers and we can expand the contract without exposure risks.

...Has palps considered that issue yet?
Because if they simply don't have the manpower to be field commanders, that may be a problem when it comes to trying to kill them off, except maybe the idea you suggested here.:lol::rofl:

Actually, while the Valour-class can carry less fighters (300 to the Venator's 400) it is more likely to survive in battle from what I can see. It boasts the maneuverability of a frigate with enough firepower to kill most things that can catch it. Much more useful to us.

He might have pulled strings to get more force sensitives to fall into the jedi orders laps early on but even still it wouldn't be enough to counter balance it even if they also started reintroducing the more "Acceptable" members of the AgriCorps its still too many. There are probably going to be alot more non jedi general's added to the line up if nothing else

The attack on kamino in this timeline likely might just be to help smash enough stuff to help level out the army so he can get the jedi to fit into there field commander role as intended.

I like your plan, but don't we have to expand Clone Production this turn as it's Q4 25 BBY? We should be able to make it with your dice allocation Facilities wise, and if we don't do this, we'd fail the first plan goal.

Edit: Thanks!

Hmm, good point, thank you for that. I'll add that in.
4D means that even with nat 100s on each one, it'll still not go on to the next phase.
