Grand Army of the Republic: A Star Wars Plan Quest

Hmm, had a weird thought (probably because of Halloween) that a defense oriented Dreadnought coming after a fleet would be like a horror movie, especially with Interdictors. Think about it, you unleash all you've got against the enemy and it just keeps coming. Anything that gets in it's reach dies, and it just keeps up the steady pace. And sooner or later, there's nowhere left to run.

What would be worse is if the defensive dreadnought itself was an interdictor meaning the enemy fleet would be forced not just to engage but actually destroy the most armored target in the battlefield if they want to escape into hyperspace.

high-tech offensive ships win single battles by killing enemy ships. reliable, devensive-oriented ships win campains by being able to fight battle after battle after battle without being defeated while saving friendly ships from being destroyed and thus giving them the change to destroy enemy ships in the next battles.
So want to win a single battle? bring Kuat. Want to win an actual war? Rendili is the way to go.

at least, that is my thinking

Thats why I keep saying, interdictors in the rear, behind EVERYTHING else lol, because if it is a Interdictor capable Dreadnought, it will have massive amounts of power available for shields and the Interdiction Wells, but not much else beyond critical systems.
so even the Carriers would be in front of it, and would be openly in a guard position even with the rather bad armaments they have, plus as many Anti Starfighter Corvettes, Frigates and other vessels as possible, especially when we see the CIS Droid Carriers spit out hundreds to thousands of Droid fighters.

Depending on interpretation a proper recreation of the Kushan mothership could be as tall as 40 kilometers.
The quote from the manual in question:

Kushan Mothership

"Discrepancies in specifications
Mothership's in-game height is 2138.1 meters or approximately 2.1 kilometers. The Scaffold, that enclosed it during construction, is 1370.3 meters or approximately 1.3 kilometers. Game manual, however, disputes these numbers: Page 6 of Part 1: Historical + Technical Briefing states that Scaffold is 25.6 kilometers long (19.7 times larger). Assuming that the size ratio between Mothership and Scaffold is kept, the latter implies that the mothership should be 41.37 kilometers tall. "

When are we going to get some new research options? Unless we do some kind of genetic scrambling our shiny new army is one tailored bio weapon away from disappearing.

We also need to do the same in order to allow clone interbreeding that doesn't lead to inbreeding. As a reminder, half our army is women. Even if we accept the absurd supposition that they are not going to be bumping uglies with each other every chance they get after being sent in a high stress situation (otherwise known as war), the second generation most certainly will and unless we fix it now we will be priming a demographic time bomb.

I get that - I personally love the design of Kuat's work along with their methodology in what they build as opposed to Rendili.

Sure, but a word of warning Blissex left before he helped design his more iconic and foundational work at Kuat in this quest. The Victory-I doesn't exist and won't exist to help inspire the ISDs. If the Kuat designs that you're fond of are from the Imperial era, you should know the chances of the more iconic warships existing are heavily skewed to nil. Blissex left Kuat because he was bad mouthed by one of the company's ranking execs so you can't even count on a wartime joint project between Kuat and Rendili to create an Imperial style Star Destroyer, as Blissex has personal reasons to not want to do anything at all with Kuat.

Never mind, I have absolutely no clue how we are going to find 64 Facilities at all for Phase 12.

[X] Plan: Dreadnought Preparation
Infrastructure 8/8 Dice + 3 Free Dice, +20
-[X] Expand into Tipoca City (Phase 7) 8 Dice 120R 40.73%
-[X] Local Shield Generators (Phase 1) 3 Dice 150R 74.82%
Industry 10/10 Dice +30
-[X] Develop Kaminoan Shipyards (Phase 11) 10 Dice 300R 98.37%
Cloning 1/7 Dice +25
-[X] Expand Clone Production (Phase 12) 1 Dice 15R 1%
Training 7/7 +30
-[X] Expand Commando Training (Phase 4) 5 Dice 125R 67.42%
-[X] Clone Trainers (Phase 5) 2 Dice 30R 0.21%
Research 7/7 +20
-[X] Force Resistance 3 Dice 105R 30.41%
-[X] Force Sight 4 Dice 200R 0%
Administration 7/7 Dice +38
-[X] Expand Acclamator-class Assault Ship Contract (Phase 1) 4 Dice 20R 46.34% for Phase 9
-[X] Burying Secrets 3 Dice 96.91% for -5 Exposure

A small plan since no one is proposing one. Tipoca is the best Progress/Facilities ratio still so attempting to do it. Also some work on defenses.
Industry is expansion in preparation for the massive need of shipyards
A die in cloning so Phase 12 will be closer. 1% chance in case a Nat100 doubles the results.
Training is an attempt to increase the Commando output and working on Clone Trainers. We will most likely reach the + per turn phase there soon. And they don't cost us facilities. We can go for training facilities when we have more facilities. Especially as it is the last one. Or when we exhaust Clone Trainers.
Research is focused on finishing Force Resistance with a good chance and working on Force Sight. Don't want to put more into Resistance since the overflow might be wasted.
Administration is an attempt to get more transport hulls for the clones for no Exposure cost. While all the other classes are better in a fight we don't have the space to transport large forces. And we have extremely large forces. Also going for -5 exposure to counter the Jedi investigation.
We should work our way to Phase 12. It is very possible to hit Phase 12 this turn, and the earlier we do so, the larger our Clone Army will ultimately be.
We need 64 Facilities/Logistics and 32 Trainers for Phase 12. There is no way to hit those goals this turn.

I count 7 minuses on Facilities, 7 on Logistics and 6 on Trainers

That's 32 Facilities, 32 Logistics and 16 Trainers for Phase 12. If this is the case, we can make it this turn and I urge you strongly to reconsider your plan accordingly.

@Oshha
Can you verify these numbers
Hawkmoon is correct.
  1. - = -1
  2. -- = -2
  3. --- = -4
  4. ---- = -8
  5. ----- = -16
  6. ------ = -32
  7. ------- = -64

I wonder how many voters will forget to add the design vote to their vote for a plan. Because the tally will only count the newest post with votes.
