[X] Enjoy the revel, and mingle with the echoes of the long dead and the dream spirits which might wear their faces. (Gain location access, The Fantasian Revel)

[X] Make for the door, and find what lies behind the throne. (Gain location access, The Shattered Gaol.)

Argh, i want both so badly.

Okay so I read the RR version of Skeletor's i.e. the Nightmare of Burning Glade's first appearance and the descriptions of that location. Deep underground there are signs of human-made shattered gateways, one of which is intact and like the throne in the revel is made of wicker and vines. The corpse itself is described as lashed to a pillar of rotten wood, with root, branch and vine spearing, intertwining and enveloping it's flesh which very much fits the purpose of a goal. Because of this specific wordings the Shattered Gaol is probably not just a random location but where the Nightmare resides in the Liminal. We do have just a few months before we'll be leaving the Sect and the Sect hinted that those above the Foundation stage (that we just passed) may test themselves against it, which means this is the opportune moment to see what this is all about and why the Hidden Moon lead us here now not once but twice.

Don't want to miss out on a horny LQ.

I prefer Dreaming, but dislike the idea of LQ exploring it solely through revelry. Surely the aspect is broader than that?

The Hidden Moon keeps trying to draw our attention to this, so let's find out why.

Ling Qi squeezed her eyes shut for a moment, and after a few seconds of careful consideration opened her mind to the dreams in the screaming wind.

My lord duke, the Li family will serve you faithfully always. The honor of being granted the three central passesis more honor than this humble one could possibly deserve.

Miserable bloated parasites crouching in their web. It is we who should rule the Emerald Seas. If only the other clans could see past their own miserable selfishness, we would be free of their yoke.

Ling QI shuddered, feeling resentment and murderous intent slither across her mind like dripping tar.

Not only have the barbarians been driven off with few casualties my lords, but the Li clan's physicians have further refined our arts, and we freely tribute our newest methods. Even flesh and bone may be a canvas for the incomparable artisans of Hui now. Together our glory will be everlasting.

Miserable jackals, growing fat off the labors of our hands and our minds. When was it last that any Hui had walked the battlefield? Faced the barbarian? No, if they had ever deserved it, they are unworthy of Xiangmen's throne my bretheren. Contact with the Patriarch Wu has been established, and we are certain that we have evaded the webs. Of the southern lords, only the Chu's disposition is unknown. I am wary to contact a man who so clearly dotes upon his Hui spouse.

Her eyes opened a crack, and she saw out of the corner of her eye, the black silhouette of a mountain lay in the distance, rising from a sea of yellow white debris. A great tunnel yawned through it's center, and for all that it was only stone, she felt like she stared into an open bleeding wound.

She let out a breath, contemplating those surface whispers and their implications. While it didn't much improve her opinions, it shifted the pieces in her head a little. The Hui's intransigence gained a patina of sensibility, from the coldest and most mechanical viewpoint.

Well assuming it was more than the whispers of madmen and radicals, imprinted long after their deaths.

Liminal Exploration Target Gained:
Bleeding Mountain.
I wonder, is the Bleeding Mountain a particularly deeply impressed scene out of history, or the metaphorical bloody mountain of political power?
"Nah, none of that. I'm the one who decided they'd stick with you," Sixiang dismissed airily. "You're my artist now. No take backsies. Even if you do turn into a nerd like auntie."

Ling Qi rolled her eyes and smiled. "I think I'd be doing pretty well to end up like Xin?"

"You wanna marry a crotchety fashion disaster?" Sixiang asked, screwing up their face in mock confusion.
Sixiang, you're the one partnered with the girl who hasn't worn any other outfit in a year.
"Seems like this is our stop," Ling Qi said. But in the distance she saw a rising shadow, for the first time, she got a glimpse of the silhouette of the behemoth's head. It was wide, with a blunt snout and a thick neck. For a moment, she remembered the sound of insects crawling over each other, and the sight of regenerating flesh stirring with verminous life in a cave deep under the earth. She saw a flash of bright jade green, the opening of one of the creatures tremendous eyes as it fell upon them for only a moment.

It made her think of her little brother.

She shook her head as she leapt off drifting like a leaf on the rising wind as she floated toward the mountainous pile of twisted construction. Whatever it was, it was a reflection, and... Not what she was here for, right now.

Liminal Exploration Target gained:
Burrowing Behemoth
Kohatu! They were dead but sort of not entirely dead. Its a curiosity!
She scanned the room, considering her next action. The compass was no further help. It had returned to spinning lazily. She could simply participate in the revel, she was on her guard now. Who knew what she might be able to learn here… on the other hand. It did worry her how easily she had fallen under the spell. And the more she looked the more she was certain that these were not merely echoes, but spirits wearing them like scarves.
Wine, drugs and revelry, all of which are ways to lose yourself to the moment. Not necessarily metaphorical here, though its not like the other side is any safer.

Hey!

Are there any leads that we have, which could increase our talent? I just started following the story and saw that it is 6. I was hoping to get her to 8 (The criminal/slave choice)

Talent boosters are very rare and generally involve very dangerous tribulations like the one that Xiulan had was only a talent booster for certain elements and it nearly killed her. Eventually as we get to higher realm we'll need to increase our talent but a talent of 6 is still excellent for green. Also the prisoner background (which Ji Rong is based on) likely had a talent of 7 not 8 since being born with a talent of 8 is ludicrous. Think about it this way, we are already keeping up with genius ducals at a talent of 6 so they likely have a similar level of talent. If we got to talent 8 we'd zip past them at a crazy speed.

The Li were masters in flesh crafting and so when Great Khan Ogodei fired a starstone arrow into the mountain and killed the Li patriarch in Dream it might have been metaphorically represented by the mountain bleeding from the wound. Or it literally bleed because living in a living mountain is the kind of stuff a comital clan gets up to.
It was said that in the opening salvo of Ogodei's war was a single iridescent arrow from beyond the horizon which had pierced the millenia old mountain fastness of Black Lotus Peak and struck Patriarch Li through the middle dantian in his own meditation chambers.

Ling Qi invited Xuan Shi to a Dreaming Moon party last turn, that means our next Dream expedition is locked in to be a revel.
Also the spooky Weilu skeleton had a lot of foreshadowing for a very long time so I'm afraid not picking it will lead to either a retcon of it's importance or a confused chapter like the one where we did not follow the Cloud Nomad hunting party during LQ's first scout command.

Huh she invited him to the Revelry? When was that? I don't remember.
