Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
We only have 8 wisps, so the amount of people we can empower is limited.

But there is another possible way to use Constellation's Accompaniment: suppose that what we give them is Constellation's Accompaniment itself! Then they could use it to give us or others their own techniques!
We could have a group that can multiply the most appropriate technique for any situation.
yrsillar specifically vetoed this shenanigan on Discord when it was brought up. Power-granting powers not granting themselves is a pretty straightforward limitation to avoid autocatalytic insanity.

[X] Constellation's Accompaniment

so, this is a lot more flavor-on-point than the boomboxes. Why do we steal? So we have the strength to carry the relationships we care about to higher places.

Problem: sometimes strong allies still can't follow us to higher places because their strengths aren't similar to our own EG: Zhengui isn't mobile
Solution: share the stolen spoils via stagehand helpers whispering our collected secrets to pals EG: let Zhengui YEET himself around lmao

This is very much an alteration that works along our Domain's lines (a super strong and unique buff kit that only our closest allies can make the most of). Who knows what the future will hold, so let's make sure everyone has an extra secret or two to whip out just in case.

I think my favorite uses of this would be non-combat ones. We can gift Dance techs so we can boogie with someone without them looking entirely outclassed. Pull them into our expressions and let them feel the rhythms as we would, be comfortable like we are.

This is an extremely interesting use of Music's Expression. We're Expressing ourselves in a way that doesn't dominate someone, or reinforce our position, but instead it's expression in a way that helps others experience a taste of what it's like to be Ling Qi.

I really enjoy all of these options, they all feel like the wisps are being assistants without taking center stage. And that's what our build hopes to accomplish, even though there are only a few cultivators that outshine us to the degree we'd be second fiddle to their main event

Literally Having Zhengui fly on our power is an oddly literal way of actualizing that breakthrough idea of carrying our roots with our wings.

As an example of where we could go with fewer but much broader Arts, here's a first stab at combining our various field effects. In general our negative fields would be Perils, our defensive ones Blessings, and Finishers would be things like CtE, though the fields would need to be substantially buffed as they would no longer stack while now taking up our actions.

Instruments of the Songseeker

The Songseeker traveled far to learn the songs of the world.
The Song Begins (A-Rank or something similarly huge as an expense)
Duration: Channeled

Every Song starts with a single note. The musician designates an area no larger than Far Range from themself, allowing the other techs in this Art to be used to effect it as long as they continue to play their song (preventing them from activating techniques not in this Art). Only this technique may be Dispelled or otherwise interrupted but doing so immediately will immediately end the others.

Upon activation choose an Ambience to apply.

On the Musician's turn they may choose to readjust the area.
- Ambience
The songseeker saw many vistas on her travels and her songs can make her audience almost feel like they are there. The Musician may choose some location that they have personally experienced or which played a significant role in a narratively significant song. The effects of that location are applied in a mostly harmless fashion as an Ambience. For instance being on a voyage at sea means that the ground beneath people's feet might seem to rock as if on a ship and the air might be filled with the smell of salt water but there will be no storm without an appropriate Peril.

Actions that play along with the current Ambience are slightly buffed, those that act contrary to it are slightly debuffed.

A Peril Approaches (C-Rank)
Duration: Special

Life on the road is full of danger and misery. The Musician may choose some hazard or obstacle that they have personally experienced or which played a significant role in a narratively significant song. They apply a facsimile of that hazard as a Peril. Perils may inflict damage directly but will require many rounds to accomplish much on their own. Other Perils might inflict debuffs to various activities. For instance a deadly blizzard might drain the warmth (and qi) from the Musician's foes or their enemies might find starvation steals the strength from their bodies.

Allies whose attacks play into the Peril's nature have them be strongly buffed, enemies whose defenses act contrary to the Peril have them be greatly weakened. Only one Peril may apply to a given location at a time.

A Blessing is Given (C-Rank)
Duration: Special

Life on the road is full of wonder and joy, or at least the occasional source of succor. The Musician may choose some sort of windfall or act of good fortune that they have personally experienced or which played a significant role in a narratively significant song. They apply a facsimile of it as a Blessing. Blessings may heal allies or protect them, though they are no substitute for expert medical care and they will generally take several turns to counter an enemy's attack. For instance a dense thicket might help them hide and worthy prey might mean they heal every time they injure a foe.

Allies whose defenses play into the Blessing's nature have them be greatly improved and enemy attacks that act directly contrary to it are strongly debuffed. Only one Blessing may apply to a given location at a time.

The Song Ends (B-Rank)
Duration: Instant

No matter the Song, it must eventually End. For one brief moment the current Blessing and Peril have a greatly increased effect, which serves as a climactic finisher.

Adjusting my vote to include my preference between the two actually popular options. The symbology of there being sight wisps is fun.
