Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Guess I massively underestimated Hanyi, was an impressive and mature handling of the request. Seems to have grown up so much without me even realising.

[] The tale of the lonely girl and an ugly city. A tale of youth, a tale of want. (Music skill advancement quest unlocked)
[x] The tale of a daughter and mothers. A tale of loss and a tale of growth. (Jaromila bond up, Hanyi gains insight/bonus toward FSS successor)
[] The tale of a dreamer and a nightmare. A tale of fear and loathing. (Internal Insights, progress on heart demon)

Knee jerk reaction would be to go for the first as the answer to what informs who LQ is, covering her origin and starting point feels pretty appropriate. Kinda grown beyond just that though and a lot of her character development has broadened the context of that start into a wider look on family which the second option ties into better. Especially with the relevance of Hanyi and the tie in to Jaromila's talk of her mother. Just looking at the content of the tale, the last rings least interesting to me.

In terms of benefits Jaromila bond is the most relevant, with Hanyi growth coming in second since this trip was always gonna be a big deal for her. Music, FSS successor and Internal Insights bonuses would be nice but are of less interest to me. Though FSS again feels more appropriate than the other two considering its tie to Zeqing. I think the other two could be saved for a more appropriate time, would rather a heart demon breakthrough occur in a scene with a trusted character in a more relaxed environment than a diplomatic mission.

As much as i want the Hearth Demon gone, this doesn't feel like the time and place for that.

The lonely girl is the core of who LQ is. Its what she put in her domain weapon.

I like Linq Qi the musician and I think the story of her background is important. The current vote Winner is good to but I want music unlock.

This is a hard choice. 2 is the more immediate obvious benefits, but can we really afford to pass up on an opportunity to confront our heart demon. We've had that for quite some time now and there's been very few chances like this.

After regretting taking the bloodline mystery box, not taking any option that venerates where LQ actually comes from (moon mom, ice mom, mom mom) seems like a disservice.

So one of the interesting things to note here is that where both these folks and Imperials become more and more spirit-like as they rise in cultivation, I suspect one of the reasons that being ruled by quasi spirits has worked so well for the Imperials is that their cultivation method ultimately means that people cultivate into "spirits of themselves" rather than spirits of a specific mantle they had high compatibility with.
You still end up with issues of very powerful and inflexible people making all the big decisions, but they are at the very least a caricature of the person they used to be rather than a mountain or whatever.
See, you say "one of the reasons it has worked so well", and here I am thinking of the recurrent civil wars and backstabbing and stratified noble houses preying on the weaker ones.

It might actually be that these folk's way of cultivation is actually much better when it comes to just saying "no, you don't get to rule" to people who.... really shouldn't rule.

Talking about our heart demon here would feel kind of... out of place in a way? Its an extremely private issue, even more so than the other two options. I think Ling Qi would have a much more comfortable time tackling that one inside her dream garden with Sixiang, Hanyi and Zhengui.

I kinda want to know what this one is supposed to be about. It's honestly the vaguest one, and there are ideas floating around, but still nothing definitive.

The mechanics I don't consider or care for, but giving Jaromila a look into Ling Qi's early life sounds like a fun time.

Except for all the problems involved in the fact that their high level cultivators have a limited number of Ways and can only do a limited number of things. Like the fact that if there's ever a major change in what society needs they'll have to improvise.

Whereas in the Empire someone can just be whatever they feel they should be and take it all the way. That is why in the Empire high level cultivators rule: they actually can rule.

The backstabbing and noble houses are just IRL Feudalism and have nothing to do with cultivation, after all.

Shenhua was Indigo around 40 years old, which is "enormous talent and resources, but not unprecedented." She was then White ten years later. So she managed to speedrun the 5th, 6th, and 7th realms in one decade, which is an absurd bullshit ridiculous cheat of completely ludicrous proportions. Nobody hits White that early.
Do we know what age the Sage Emperor hit White? Or was that legend about him implying he was basically born there?
