Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Hello!
New member of the quest (I finally made an account so I could vote here).

I say either ask about his family or the "pure world". He doesn't seem really friendly so I think asking more general 'polite' questions is the way to go.

Also: if I come back an edit this message to include a voting statement will that be counted or should I post another message with just my vote in about an hour?

Hello, welcome.

You can leave your vote unmarked now (without the X) and mark it after the moratorium's over, usually 2 hours after the update. The tally will still work on your vote that way, you can also just vote after the moratorium

[] Family and the challenges that come from separate cultures
[] The dangers the Alaniar believe they are shielding their men from

So these are two I came up with.

The first is because I'm really interested in how a marriage between two cultures with such different ideas of gender roles works. How do they decide how kids are treated? Daughters seem destined for the ice blessing route, at least. But sons is a more interesting and complicated matter, I'd imagine.

The second is me trying to leverage his pride as a nomad man. He probably doesn't view the dangers of the Outer Night with the same kind of taboo that the Alaniar do, and obviously doesn't personally follow the ways of their men. So, this might be a good opportunity to get some further details on the subject.

We should [] Ask about the other Cloud Tribe confederations.

He might be significantly less tightlipped about them, their politics and capabilities given their enmity. Since the Write-In puts less focus on less popular votes we could get a paragraph or two if we aim for top 4-5.

mmmm, yeah I like this, I'm adding this to my list

[] Inquire about the Pure World and Cloud Tribe History/Myths in general
[] Speak to him about his father.
[] Family and the challenges that come from separate cultures
[] What does he perceive as a family? What about a tribe? What are the cloud nomads?
[] The dangers the Alaniar believe they are shielding their men from
[] How did you meet your wife?
[] Why where you uncomfortable around Cai Renxiang?

I don't really care about Ilsur's outlook on life and Cloud Nomad culture right now. These things are very relevant but we're trying to get information that's useful for navigating major political alliances and we need to know more. So we should prioritize current groups and connections over personal relationships and thoughts. So in order of priority:

[] Inquire about the Pure World and Cloud Tribe History/Myths in general.
[] Ask about his tribe's connection to the White Sky.
[] Ask about the other Cloud Tribe confederations.
[] Ask about his tribe and his father.
[] Ask about his unease towards Cai Renxiang.

I want to know more about how political marriages in particular work in White Sky, there was definitely some confusion as to how our party worked and some assumptions getting made about the marital status etc of everyone.

[] Inquire about the system of political marriages in White Sky

[X]What's with the lights in the sky?

The only mystery I'm interested in is the aurora and why it caused Ling Qi to nearly run off and everyone else to be annoyed and disquiet.

For those saying we should ask why he doesn't like CRX, didn't he just tell us? I thought his whole thing was he didn't like law and order and saw it as just a mask for the strong to oppress the weak. Which he has a point, and CRX is kind of the epitome of law and order lol, so of course he's not going to be a big fan.

Part of what's driving the personal questions is that it feels like a legitimate and relevant question to ask as well as the kind of thing that I think Ling Qi would be interested in (Family stuff and all).

With that said.

[] Ask about the other Cloud Tribe confederations.

I'll consider this one

I like both of these. They make sense as things to ask, they're informative for our job of diplomacy and interacting with them, and they're also good if we want to look at the potential sun husbando route.

Also potentially a good question related to the above.

Overall, I guess I quite like the ones probing him as an outsider for his experience and views on their "novel" gender relations. They're really interesting questions that are informative about their culture, and would actually work as things to chat about here.

I call this plan Gender Relations:

[X] Family and the challenges that come from separate cultures
[X] The dangers the Alaniar believe they are shielding their men from
[X] Inquire about the system of political marriages in White Sky
[X] How did you meet your wife?

Broadly I think it's better to focus here. These are all along the same theme and topic line, and give yrs plenty to work with on the subject.

You know. I just realized that the Cloud Tribe has some kind of answer to a question we have. We're trying to square the circle on Freedom and Connections right? Cloud Tribe does that all the time.

[X] - stagnation/corruption are the cost of our system, but in trade our connections are quite easy to maintain. How do the nomads manage to maintain connections with how free they are?

"You are right that I am more aware of how the world is than many, including the shortcomings in our society. The Connections in Emerald Seas are mostly earth and wood, durable and slow to change. Stagnation and corruption are the danger of such static connections, but my liege works tirelessly to scour it clear to make room for new growth. I can see how it would be advantageous to be freer, to allow the violence of the world to clear such rot for us. However, doesn't that freedom make it harder to connect with one another?"

Yeah, sure, these seem fine. I might add more as I look over the options more in depth later. I could even capriciously axe some!
