[X] Accept (Khemetri gain King of the Hill, possible delay in guild industry recovery, -1 Authority, unlikely +1 Influence, probably take Trelli next year)
Giving up the title of the greatest civilization might be the first step to learning more humility and perhaps get rid of elitist tendencies.
@Aranfan How profitable are the other successor states of the Ymaryn Empire?
AranfanToday at 23:26
the ymaryn absolutely should have died
well
the rebel colonies on the Yllython should be .5
but if western wall takes Ukraine and you don't give the land back
well, ukraine is a breadbasket on the scale of the Nile or Txolla
the Black Sheep are pretty solid in terms of how much money they produce... but
but Iran is absolutely not governable from Georgia before railroads
How does our military compare to those of the other Ymaryn successor states?
AranfanToday at 23:29
depends
Hathytta and Txolla had their military and nobles ravaged by feeding the war effort against the khan
thats why they didn't have "intact ymaryn bureaucracy" in the chargen options
OshhaToday at 23:29
Let me rephrase that. Which would be the easiest to reconquer for profits?
AranfanToday at 23:30
... probably tinshore
it's the smallest
OshhaToday at 23:30
How easy would it be to retake Thunder Plateau?
PizzaManToday at 23:30
Tinshore is probably the least likely to join of their own volition tho
AranfanToday at 23:30
the Styrmyr are pretty big and they're sitting on greenshore, and Western Wall has been hulking out
@Oshha don't even try to take the thunder plateau without the Mass Levy
Dafydd is extremely clear on this
kibaToday at 23:31
how the heck western wall hulking out?
OshhaToday at 23:32
Intact administration plus fertile barbarian lands to conquer.
AranfanToday at 23:32
^
yeah, Ukraine is right north of it
it has all the black soil it needs
If we are lucky, the Western Wall will give up some of its Ymaryn-ness by sacrificing the long term benefits for short-term gain.
kibaToday at 23:35
I hoping we'll secure some sweet trade deal in the Kus ocean somehow
AranfanToday at 23:35
oh they absolutely are
they wouldn't be conquering the ukrainian breadbasket if they hadn't
We could still potentially take it without a navy. There were a huge many times in history that invaders were close to taking Constantinople even with no naval presence, and Trelli here has far less defense than those examples since we have gunpowder and they don't have concrete that can rebuild new walls in a day.He needs an actual navy able to contest the sea if he is to have any chance of taking Trelli.
A bit curious how this bit was picked up. The Ymaryn were definitely haughty, but not in a "everything we do is better than you" way. They were more a "we are morally superior than you," like how Angels tend to be represented in pop culture. One of our traits literally let us take the best cultural and technological traits and achievements of other civilizations and states after all. There are possibilities here. But to grab them would be to admit that the Kus were better than the People on this. It might be worth it even so.

Less me saying "hey we are totally going to be taking it!" and more arguing that it shouldn't be as impossible as being portrayed by the QM.Our Martial Hero says he needs a navy to take the other half of Trelli. I am more than inclined to believe him than assuming he is suddenly going to start succeeding at the things he has been trying to do and has decided won't work.

Didn't say they don't have concrete. That was a historical reference to a special blend of concrete that the Byzantines had access to (though we don't know what the actual recipe was) that was supposed to be so quick-drying that they were regularly able to rebuild walls* and create redoubts in the literal time between pushes within the same day. It is one of the few things we know extensively about the siege of Constantinople by the Turks when they finally took the city.
Do our advisors / guild leaders foresee any increased income from renewed Khemetri contact and trade?I feel I should mention that decisively losing KotH to the Khem will give you -.5 income, from the shifting of trade deals in light of the Khem becoming the biggest power. Remember how being Supreme Power in PoI gave +2 SoL? Yeah, like that.

We can survive with a 0.5/10 Treasury so long as we don't run out of money by hitting 0/10 Treasury.
Though if we DO hit zero treasury I suspect we will have escape valves that trigger. Things like war taxes and hitting up nobility for loans in exchange for power.I just want to make it clear again that something needs to change if we are to survive past 1600. Our key to survival was supposed to be the Hills, but now that has fallen though, we need to take gambles if we want to survive. Stabilising the Core just means that we gone from trying to survive the next year to trying to survive the next five years and it will remain that way until we got positive income.

None of these are options we want to be taking, but empires go bankrupt from time to time and survive.
