We promised to let him fight with us, not allowing him to take a minor hit for our sake would feel a little iffy.

AE is too far behind we move too quickly. It's too late at this point to recultivate it, rework it, and then try to cultivate the derived one. Better to use something like TRF that is getting shifted out but was mechanically excellent

As for what this is. It's a fungus. Fungi are neither animals nor plants, they're not exactly micro-organisms but are formed of collectives of fungal cells with spores that *can* be micro-scopic. This is both a distributed hive-consciousness *and* an individual collective growth. One spore *might* be able to regrow a new collective. The culling of many cells won't terminate it.

I assume that this is one of the organisms that can perform a facsimile of immortality, by "Ship of Theseus-ing" cells/spores as they rot and rotate them for new growths. Honestly it's lack of ambition doesn't even preclude it from doing so. You can ship of theseus your hivemind even at this early / low level of cultivation and maybe that would appeal to some stagnant filthy clan somewhere.

Approval voting the physical cultivation hit, not because I think it'll go anywhere, but because of the themes involved: while on the one hand, I stand by my earlier statements about respecting Zhengui's agency and expressed willingness in conjunction with our promise that we wouldn't be the only one who did hard things anymore... putting a minor cultivation penalty on someone we agreed to help grow irks me. I don't think yrsillar is trying to screw us, it's just a rough thematic corner we find ourselves in. So for my own vote, at least, it feels important to voice the sentiment "I'll let you do this, Son Little Brother, but I would have done it, and your growth hasn't stopped mattering to me."

If this goes well, please make a mental note of this exchange for the next time we have to make a choice of whether to help Zhengui grow or invest in our own growth, because we cannot let "I'll let you bear some of the burdens instead of taking them all myself" become "I'll consistently trade your suffering for my growth."

We need to learn an art to help his cultivation to make up for this latter.
 
But man, that spirit was a bad one to meet and try to talk to for our Little Group theme wise. A spirit of stagnancy against LQ's motion is Life, stillness is Death, Zhengui's Growth and Renewal and Hanyi's Entropy. No getting along with that one for any of them
