I don't disagree I just worry about baiting us out and some eagle rider asshole fucking around with us while the rest snipe at Precious and Lan Lan

Well, if that happens, we'll just have to kick his ass.

Hell, if the barbarians don't have a really powerful perception specialist doing scouting work, they probably think Zhengui is Xiulan's spirit just from element spread, so they'll likely underestimate us a bit.

She might not have Wood, but she has waaaaay more Fire than we have Wood, and it makes more sense for a Fire Cultivator to have a Wood spirit anyway since Wood Feeds Fire.

As @Black Noise has said, the usual Raid is a blitz offensive to pillage, loot, and burn before high-tailing it out of there.

The only potential problem is that I cannot recall if we are still within the same general area as the last mission when we encountered that scouting party of Greens, as a preparatory mission like that is usually a sign of something bigger on its way and agitating the mountain spirits more than usual to tie up our best fighters would be an excellent cover for a slightly larger raid.

That, however, means that we would still be best served by making use of our greater mobility and battlefield control arts to boost the other two Cultivators so that we can punch back enough to avoid any significant losses as well as potentially evacuate people if needed to the other village that has Zhengui and Xiulan keeping watch.

My vote would be for Aggressive because we have the Flight to engage them from alternate avenues of attack, our CC is built to handle large groups of enemies like this as well as support allies, and we are also the best capable of tracking/following them should they retreat or attempt to redirect the strike.

Let's track the assault, and if it splinters to avoid being caught between three Imperial Cultivators than we can still likely run enough of them to ground to get additional information from them.

And hey, for those wanting to steal something, maybe we'll be able to sleight of hand something valuable from their boss if he tries to make a Dynamic Exit.

Honestly I'm kind of wondering about that message...

Was the guy expecting LQ to have heard it and thus was asking about the message for basic confirmation or was he surprised LQ was there because his message shouldn't have arrived yet?

basically, is it important or unimportant that LQ did not get the message.

Keep in mind, if it is enemy action that intercepted a message without detection, the intent was to prevent Qi from hearing about the reinforcements request from up North, in which case the best place to be is there. A stealthed barbarian who is blindly intercepting messages is kinda risking his stealth in exchange for some enemy coordination loss.

Moratorium's over

[X] Aggressive posture
-Spirits are problematic to be sure, but nothing that the people here cannot handle. The wards are strong, you've checked them yourself. However, the barbarians could be dangerous. Using your superior mobility, go north and aid the closer of the other villages.
[Aggressive approach, retains initiative, leaves Xiulan and Zhengui to defend this village, lessens safety but supports other villages.]

I think there is a missunderstanding about how our communication method works.

As it is, the CDE scrying tech needs to be initiated by Ling Qi and it isnt two-way communication. Instead she targets Hanyi with her scrying so she can hear and see spoken and written messages. However, if Ling Qi want to tell them something, she would need to tell Hanyi before sending her to the other guy.

This means that Ling Qi not getting the message can be explained for example by her not checking for it after she got informed about Liao Zhu fighting that spirit
