Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
The spirits of the shadowed, hidden moon know this better than any mortal. Seeking no glory, they arrange matters to the benefit of those mortals which have caught their fancy. Long did the courts of the Weilu prosper with the hidden work of theses spirits, and swift did their order crumble in their absence.
Also, hint on how the Weilu managed their subordinates! And how they fell from power!

They were literally favored by the Hidden Moon, and all their works got a hidden (!) bonus that they lost when they fell from the Hidden Moon's favor. I'd speculate they fell from favor by increasing isolationism, arrogance leading to stagnation and incuriosity. And so they vanished.

The dangers of following the path of the Moon, I suppose.

Wait, what does noble etiquette say about proper young ladies going off alone with boys?

75% odds the "correct" thing here is to have our "handmaiden" with us so it doesn't look like there's canoodling.
I guess I need to change my vote....

[x] Convince Gu Xiulan to come along. It would ease things along a good deal.

Edit: vote is getting closer than I'd like to, so adding that one just in case.
[X] Convince Li Suyin to come along. It would ease things along a good deal.

[X] No, she did not want to use her friend as a crutch or a shield.

She hung out with Gu Tai without a crutch and that was actual marriage proposal, not a preliminary talk to open up negotiations to begin a dialogue for a engagement proposal.

Won't we find out how suitable he is much more quickly if we go with him alone? We already saw in the update that Li Suyin's presence was making things less clear for Ling Qi.

I change my mind, I want more Suyin screentime

If our choice is to either go with stranger, or bring a friend along, we could always bring friend. Trying to do things on our own all the time is bound to get us in trouble eventually. Plus, inviting Li Suyin will hopefully send the message that we rely on her.

Now, for the arts... This is my very abridged take on them.

Moon Sprite's Inquiry:

What are they hiding? What do they not want you to know? Learn useful stuff from others, ensure no one unwanted learns anything from you. Good for blackmail, nobody will dare messing with LQ, for she knows too much, and can make or break friendships and alliances.

Relentless Fairy's Curiosity: C
Bait targets into exposing secrets.

Moonlit Chattering: C
Anti-eavesdropping during conversations.

Playful Muse's Rapport

Sincerity is an awesome power! Overwhelm your peers with your honesty, and stop them from bullshitting you. You are going to lay the truth bare, and so are they. Very compatible with LQ's Argent Mirror insight.

Carefree Mantle: C
Boost to charismatic speeches when being honest.

Deceiver's Foil: C
Detect lies and a bonus for exposing them

Moonless Saboteur's Smile

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not planning to get you. Plots and Schemes, how to see them coming and how to defend yourself from them. LQ will have a grand time making carefully crafted plans backfire hilariously. Then, the CRX and Meizhen will likely crush whoever dared plan against them or their friends.

Mirthful Sabotage: C
Detect plans and plots, and a bonus for exposing them/sabotaging them
Timely Misdirection: C
Bail out a ally from a social mistake they commit, or defend them from a social attack?

Melodies of the Spirit Seekers

Spirit taming with music? Part of me feels like we're already petty well off in that regard. We are looking to cover a weakness of ours, so this will likely not make a big difference.

Mediators Swift Composition: C
Boost to negotiation with spirits, with an additional music bonus. An appeasing song. Works best with lower intelligence spirits?

Rhythm of Exchange: C
Understanding advanced Spirit psychology. Greater Boost to negotiation with spirits, with an additional music bonus? (Same as above, but better??) Likely effective with highly intelligent spirits.

Roaming Moon's Eye
More espionage based, sacrificing combat utility. I kinda like it better than the alternative. It will stay useful and relevant even after we are facing A+ tier adversaries.

Casual Diviner's Poise
More combat based, sacrificing espionage utility. Unsure about the potential of this one. Might lead to predicting the less immediate future, later down the line? I think Time related shenanigans are unlikely to matter much in this quest, though.

My pick for the time being alternates between... Moon Sprite's Inquiry and Moonless Saboteur's Smile. They both make Ling Qi more dangerous to potential adversaries wanting to get her in trouble, and it gets LQ to stop being kind of clueless about what is going on around her. Knowing about secrets and plots of her peers will pave the way to let them know she's not to be antagonized.

I'd like to see what she can do now that she's Green, and I think this is a less stressful way to do it than another dungeon delve.

Also, I've finally made another edit to beast king's dirge. The eagle is back to an immediate tech, in line with its themes, primal war calling now penalizes speed and phys avoid instead of perception to avoid thematic overlap with phantasmagoria

While it's great that you are explaining your position, we aren't voting on which of these Arts to train at this time. That time comes during turn votes, when we pick which Arts and skills to train for that turn. For at least so long as we are in the Inner Sect we will have the option to train any, all, or none of these Arts.

Oh right. I am still new at making these kinds of votes, so I thought we were being given a prompt. I wil lremove that from my vote then, thanks for letting me know.

Playful and carefree, unafraid and unconcerned with consequence, many dismiss these creatures of dream as an ephemeral annoyance, the companions of feckless hedonists and unserious artisans.
This statement is very interesting to me. I guess the dreaming moon has a less than stellar reputation in some areas of the Empire. I wonder how many would dismiss the muses as annoyance if they knew that with the right preparation you can access dreams and knowledge not your own.
