27th Of Thunder: The Search For Musyamon Part 1 & Ardat's 5th Letter
[] Follow up the Musyamon lead. That mon sounds familiar, the former Dracmon might know more about what happened. You just have to find him.

===

While *Drunky* continues to swear in animated fashion, you merely frown and take another deep, calming breath.

That establishment has clearly been destroyed. Therefore in order to continue this search we need to. to...

Your thoughts are interrupted as a low-pitched growl erupts from your stomach, demanding food. Sadly you don't have anything to give it. No Mihiramon meat, no Travel Bread and no money to pay for anything else.

All because some... villain stole Gramps' bag! I Should-Focus. If retracing your steps has come to its limit Verge, then find a witness. That *mutated Musyamon* was mentioned twice. By both Zudomon and the Seahorsemon. Mayhaps he knows... and there is only one digimon you know that fits the description. It has to be Drop's friend, the former Dracmon.

Speaking of the singer's friends, you still have a sparring session scheduled with Fonte. Or... you're not sure if that's relegated to tomorrow given how the concerts have been pushed back. You're not entirely sure.

Focus. Right!... how can I find him? He wasn't with us upon waking up, so he likely returned to Drop. Thank the spirits, finding her should be less difficult. However the hotel she was occupying was damaged by Angemon and DeathMeramon. She must have found a new one. Which means we must secure its location before anything else. But how...

The subject has you momentarily stumped. You're not trained in the art of investigation.

However a particularily colorful set of curses brings your attention back to Imperius Angewomon. A digimon whom has shown some competency in the subject. With nothing else to go on, you decide to explain your thought processes to her.

"Hah!" The angel snorts. "Maybe I should start calling you *Thinky*. Good idea, little miss *water goddess* isn't exactly inconspicuous, I'll ask around and find out where she's staying. I bet she's got *Broody* there too." You give the wommon a respectful nod and go to respond, but are interrupted by another growl from your aching stomach. "... yeah. I could use some grub too. Let's head to a Trading Post first and get some goddamn chow."

"Aye."

That sounds... not unpleasent. Hmm, how many days has it been since I received payment? There should be enough for at least one meal...

=

Upon arriving at the building, you slide down to Drimogemon and enter besides Angewomon. The angel wastes no time in browbeating the attending Pidmon into coughing up a few dozen loaves of Travel Bread. Then after eating her share and grabbing enough for HippoGriffomon, the officer absconds to go *ask around*. You're not quite sure what that entails, but at this point you're content to just sit down and scarf down a good meal.

However, after your stomach is filled, all that's left to do is wait.

Fortunately, you don't have to be bored. As it turns out, Ardat has written you another letter, something the Pidmon manning the desk is more than happy to print off for you.

Dear Verge,

We must apologize for our conduct during your last visit, as after a great deal of discussion we've come to the conclusion that your words were correct.

If you so chose to come visit us again
(please, please, please) we promise not to affect your mind in any manner. [REDACTED] has been assisting us in this endeavor and has been assisting us in controlling our abilities.

Our friend, since your last visit, certain truths have come to light for us. We not being kept here of our own will, but for the purposes of rehabilitation until we're no longer deemed a direct threat to The Host. Verge, this room of ours is a prison, albeit a very nice one with a great many amenities. With the discovery for our power, the constant rotations of guards was to prevent them from falling under our influence.

We assure you,
(our totally great and awesome friend) that we only wish to continue our relationship.

In other news your pillow is super fluffy! It reminds us of your fur! Thanks for the gift it's fantastic. Yes, the Mistress Of Wind Sorcery gives you our gracious thanks!

Oh right! Our wind magic, we've gotten really good with it again. Undeniably so, our technical expertise in High Programming has grown much more proficient as expected of this world's most beautiful and graceful digimon.

Yeah! We're gonna be able to cast the big spell again soon! And to much greater effect than before due to your gracious gifts. We've worked quite studiously on modifying it to be even more widespread. It's going to be really, really great!

It has certainly helped that our trinary studies have [REDACTED] which makes learning the stuff from before a lot easier!

And as of yet there have been no side effects, though the energy consumption required for [REDACTED] has been most problematic.

As for the contents of your last letter, there was no need to apologize. The fault was ours alone and we do hope that our considerations in this letter reflect that sentiment. However we also recognize the affliction we have caused you and apologize for it. Rest assured that we will seek to find a way to reverse the effects, but that is unfortunately far down on our list of objectives.

Between our studies and the [REDACTED] has us [REDACTED] we've been…
ridiculously busy! And a lot of it is so boring.

XOXO, most awesome (and really sorry) LadyDevimon.

P.S. [REDACTED]

[] Response (Write in.)

=Reading Ardat's letter also brings another question to your mind. Do you intend to ask Fonte for her contact information as well?

[] Yes.

[]No.

===Authors Note: Righto questers. Next update should help get to the bottom of things regarding Drunky and Verge's missing items. Update was Not Beta'd. Heh, funny thing, this is about 1K words. But putting the letter in quotes removes the section from the official wordcount.

I advise to adding an between in and animated.

Thanks the spirits finding her should be less difficult.
The singular thank would be more natural to the tongue than thanks in this sentence.

That sounds... not unpleasent.
Unpleasant.

[X] Ardat, it gladdens me to my core to know that my words, however painful they may have been, have helped you to identify this challenge. I am absolute in my confidence that you will be able to overcome the obstacles placed before you by the vagaries of digivolution. I am similarly gladdened, albeit unsurprised, to hear that you've regained your mastery of wind magic, and look forward to seeing it in practice. Things have gone well for myself; Grip, my third ward, was lost but has now been found once again. It seems that his... *mother* had claimed him. He is now employed as part of the security team for Sistermon Noir. I have also been able to further my path of vengeance and retribution against Count and his minions. The mon that murdered Gramps is dead. Pit has finally evolved as well, and reached a new path upon which he treads as Asuramon. I know that the two of you have never seen eye-to-eye, but he is becoming wiser I think. He was instrumental in stopping an incursion by a being called *Dagomon* into the server, claiming to have closed the portal through which the foul thing emerged. I fear though that I am once again beginning to lag behind in terms of strength compared to my companions; the fight that Pit was able to engage in would have surely meant my end. As it stands, I have somehow suffered damage to my war gauntlets that is not repairing when I am healed. As you have studied high programming, do you know what could cause such a thing to happen? Sincerely, Verge.

[X] Yes.

A part of me wonders if we should mentioned that we discovered that we are artificial but it seems like it would be pointless at this point and Verge himself doesn't give much thought to it.

Beyond that a part of me wonders if Verge and Sparks will retain their ability to jogress whenver they hit Ultimate, that still probably qutie a ways off since neither of em have hit their limits but if they do... well going to one scary mofo for sure.

[Concern]

Uh guys before we blindly copypaste...we were keeping the Jogress a secret and we KNOW the letters are read many times before they arrive. Not just by the people we trust

Are we SURE? @TempestK

Might be wise to leave out the Jogress. Its strategically important.

[X] Ardat, I am happy to hear that you have stopped deceiving yourself, and that you are earnestly working towards mastering yourself. I hope that you may be able to emerge into the world again soon, and that our paths may once again cross. [X] Yes.

Removed the problem bit

The only real change seems to be that the jogress was taken out, which I frankly feel may be for the better anyone given that Sparks wants it secret.

Actually I wonder how many mon actually saw that anyway? Luna for sure did but she has a good chance of keeping it to herself.

About the artificial thing. Verge doesn't think it's a big deal. Our Bear is pretty zen about it because he doesn't really see how that makes him different (mutations aside) from other mon. He's still just Verge, it doesn't really matter how he was created in the first place.

It helps that he's in the freak squad.

You can really feel how badly Ardat wants to have confirmation that we're not still mad at her, and to reassure us that she's definitely trustworthy and doing better and still the same old friendly Number One Wind Magician, promise!

... I may not be Ardat's biggest fan, but I really hope we get a chance to talk to her in person soon because... Ouch. Even if it might have catalyzed her motivation to be a better person, it's clear that our argument hurt her pretty deeply.

That was my own assessment and as well and why I was only wondering. Pit and Noir both made bigger deals of it than Verge himself as his reaction was more of a 'huh neat' than anything else.

And oh boi our squad is starting to get the point where it might as well be considered all Ultimates even with the two champs it has.

So, out of curiosity, how would Day of Dagomon have gone down if we had listened to Sparks and kept Pit aware from Noir beforehand?

Theoretically, Pit wouldn't have gone to help Noir. Meaning the portal stays up A LOT longer. Meaning a Dagomon strong enough to fight AncientMermaidmon would have formed.

Destroying Water Temple City in the battle and allowing for parts of said priest to escape destruction.

That would probably come back up in part 3 as several Dagomon trying to drown the world in the Dark Ocean. Fun.

So all of the Dagomon cult members in Water Temple City were caught then.
