......because Yin = female and Yang = male so why would it give an art of the "feminine" element to the one representing Yin in the seal especially when seal had them use their hands to fill in for the dots of Yin and Yang inside their counterparts as on the Yin-Yang symbol.
Why would it give a feminine art to the cultivator taking the feminine role? Is that really your question? It rather seems like the default.

I doubt that Ying would be the Elder that might appear at the end of the trial — she's the Outer Sect manager — but possibly a relation of hers? Unless the whole forced-pairing thing is an Argent Sect thing, with its whole teamwork theming, not a Shi clan thing.
This isn't a challenge site.
even if the thing he wanted assistance with wasn't an apparent challenge site.
Elder-designed trials are, it seems to me, an Outer Sect thing. The Inner Sect is for students advanced enough not to need handholding, after all. Instead the Inner Sect students are developing on their own, interacting with spirits and other more organic challenges 'in the wild'. It's a slightly less wild wild than the actual wilderness, of course, so it's not really the same as the outside world and the Elders still have a lot of influence on what students interact with, but they aren't being as overt as they were in the Outer Sect IMO.

Seeking Moon's Eyes: C
Duration: Long
Conjures three reflective silver wisps the size of a coin. Expressions of the Diviner's curiosity, these wisps seek their parents interest eagerly. The wisps ignore wholly physical obstacles but cannot travel further than Near distance from their creator. The creator may see from the wisp's position as if they stood there themselves, though only in one direction at a time. This greatly increases their combat perception in the areas within which this sight overlaps.

Statblock
Health: G
Speed: D, Initiative: E
Avoid: C, Armor H
Seems @yrsillar forgot to update part of it. CDE 2 was already supposed to upgrade this to "very close".
overall it seems that other than giving basically useless stat boost to the "eye" constructs leveling up does nothing to this particular tech.
Also: CDE2 was supposed to give +10 to Formations when deciphering arrays.

Why would you give the opposite element to a cultivator ? I mean, what makes you think that a trial that asks for cultivator that trains in water would reward him/her with a fire art ?

Seems pretty obvious that, if the reward are a couple of Yang/Yin arts then Ling Qi will get the Yin one.

Why's that? We're still here representing Yin.
No. By touching the dot rather than the magnatama looking shape, Ling Qi is representing the lesser Yin, the feminine aspects of masculinity (or the passive aspects of activity, the cold aspects of heat, etc. Yin and Yang are broad concepts, so thinking strictly in terms of feminine/masculine might not be 100%).

Daoist teaching acknowledges that it's imperfect and the inclusion of the lesser yin/yang within the greater yang/yin, as even the most powerful warrior must temper their motion (Yang) with stillness (Yin) to be able to fight effectively (as the greatest motion in a blow is powered by the stillest parts of the body). Water and fire do not share that inherent duality, and so there's no expectation of connection between them like there would be for Yin and Yang, making for a rather poor comparison.

Secret Tunnel!

I want to highlight a couple of things on this particular challenge which makes it easier for us:
-Its a maze. CDE, which we JUST loaded up, lets us summon wisps that can explore a maze for us, and can noclip the walls to solve it from an easier perspective.
-Its made of plants, which Zhengui can use to extend his perception through as one of his Xuanwu powers. This makes it harder to ambush us if something is in here.

The temple has laser/electric/Heaven barriers, which makes Sable Grace less effective, so we have to solve it the 'proper' way with Academics/Formations.
The boat...well its a boat. Any challenges will be occuring at close quarters with no way to deploy our spirits except maybe Hanyi.

Opinions guys? I mean the shipping is interesting but theres a bit more to the options than aesthetics

Or we could get a Wood stealth art:

Forest Missing Tree Stance or something.

The wisps are only in near range (10 m), so they probably can't be used as exploration thingy. Hanyi also might be usefull, by killing the rose vines and drinking their power.

Boat has the advantage of being in darkness, which would help us, and it would provide earth for xuan shi.

The temple has barriers keeping either things out, or more worringly, in. The ominous statue doesn't help trust it here.

That's a good point, but it still seems quite a ways away from 'onviously if we get an Art it will be Yang'

Well, I guess I'll throw my two cents in.

[] A corridor seemingly composed wholly of roses and thorny vines, that split and twisted into the distance, forming a great labyrinth
Labyrinths are kind of hard to judge the difficulty of. Is the purpose to figure a way through the labyrinth or to find something in the labyrinth? It gives us some measure of direction by implicitly asking us to solve the labyrinth, and (with OOC knowledge) we can infer that it is likely asking us to find the exit given the second option has qi barriers blocking the way to the rear.

With that being said, I'm not entirely sure where the difficulty of the maze comes from. Is it going to be shifting paths? Are there going to be attacks by creatures of the woods? Whatever the case may be, there is simply very little actual information to go on regarding what the challenges will be in the Labyrinth.

[] A softly lit temple, with sparking qi barriers blocking the way toward its rear. Behind them, you can see the looming shadow of a great statue of some forgotten great spirit.
This option immediately presents a directed goal with some context clues regarding how to solve it. The goal will be to get to the back of the temple, hence why it is blocked off by qi barriers. The subgoal will likely to resolve challenges or puzzles in order to turn off the qi which is powering the barriers.

Then we have some information regarding what those challenges and puzzles might be. Behind us is a statue of a forgotten Great Spirit, which implies that this a temple dedicated to said Great Spirit. Which means that it will be themed around that great spirit. While the great spirit is forgotten, there will be some clues to pick up from the statue regarding the possible deposition of the great spirit as well as what aspect it held dominion over.

I'll admit, Ling Qi isn't the most intelligent of the bunch (given her poor intelligence score) and will unlikely be able to piece together the abstract clues and subtle hints that we find on the statue to form a coherent idea of who the great spirit was. However, she does have some pretty good preception with CDE and she can relay what she sees to Xuan Shi who is much more capable of piecing together clues and ideas.

I find this option much more appealing because we start with two pieces of information to solve whatever puzzles come along whereas the first one there is really only one clue (its a labyrinth which implies the goal is to solve it) and the third one has no clues other than a boat.

[] A pier and a little boat tied to it, floating on a river that flows into the yawning mouth of an ominous cave.
I don't particularly like this one because there is simply no information on what challenges it will have or puzzles we will encounter. It is a leap of faith that the information will be provided later, or the challenges will be less subtle.

We have perfect night vision, so there is that at least, but there is little in this option to entice me to vote for it. No information, no context clues, just a boat in the water with a yawning cave begging to be entered. It's just not for me.

Wait, we're a darkness cultivator, of course we should go in the cave!!
Last cave we went in got us 36 GSS and a sword, too!

The wisps can noclip through walls is the thing helps with solving the labyrinth puzzle

...Okay so the maze. Is it meant to be no-sold that way? Well...
Six could use the Wind to help out, or at least make a map...
Earth pulse-reading like what's his name who was Gu's arranged husband...Eh, unless he has some serious range on it at this level...
IDK what Meizhen uses.
Some sort of marking the trail by striking it is something I think most Cultivators could do though.
In other words, I looked at a rough mental guess of what our peers could do versus Ling Qi's art suite to see if this might be a legit 'cheat through the trial' situation versus 'no we've got plans for THAT mess'. I'm leaning towards yes we get to cheat it...But that's assuming it's what we see on the tin.

But as for the Temple...Hrm. Lazer fences would suck for shadow-ghosting through I think, but the thing is Formations is Xuan Shi's Thing, given how much of a nerd he is. So he'd take point. Not that concerned unless the idea here is we have to match each other, but that's speculation.

The Boat, well, the Meizhen thing from the first thread, the darkness and water which elementally matches Ling Qi...Admittedly it's also a close-range fight with no room to manuver and probably no ability to call out Zhengui thanks to the water so yikes...Except who said it was a fight? (admittedly that last point is mostly me trying to defend the Shipping Trial lulz)

Well, Xuan Shi is a Formation expert with a batman utility belt. He's probably equally useful in any scenario...but the question is how Ling Qi contributes hmm
