Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Sure, but that's because Meizhen's arts are fear arts. Our equivalent would be a domain that activates whenever we're playing music. It'd work for us as a minor, constant bonus that doesn't need any ultra rare conditions to activate.
But her domain is not on when she uses her fear arts. It's on all the time. Like when she was trying to make nice to one of the Bai's vassals after the first year tournament and he basically ran away. She was not using a fear art at the time but her domain makes her so uncomfortable to be around if you are not Ling Qi that she basically can't do politics. It's not a minor buff to some of her arts it is a major advantage in combat. The big problem is that her domain actively harms her attempts to make nice. It almost forces her into the Bai stereotype.

For us it would be like when we walk into the room our background music was so loud as to be annoying. Sure our domain would help us in combat but would make any social action that much more difficult.

Not all domains have to be useful in combat. Some are more useful in social situations. Ours is sort of splitting the difference. It gives some ok bonus to combat and some ok bonus to social situations. Our domain is sort of forcing us to create situations where it is useful. We need allies to make the first part work and now we have three spirits with us at almost all times. Next we need to create a space that is ours. Well we specialize in area of effect arts. Creating a space that is "ours" may not be to far in the future.

Meizhen's domain is on all the time and increase her ability but greatly hampers any political or social actions she takes. Ling Qi's domain require conditions to be met but doesn't hinder us if those conditions are not met.

This seems like a far trade off to me.

Hrm.

@yrsillar , when you get a chance. Does Cold work like Music did in how having access to it gives you some neat little gimmicks? Like how the Thunder-Music conversion means that Ling Qi's music ignores physical inability to hear for the purposes of the effect?

And it doesn't do those things either, except for the one good effect it does actually have. The rest of it just sits back, waiting for the day it's horribly specific conditions will be fulfilled.
Yes, an umbrella of several useful niche support effects that would otherwise require a dedicated spirit or Art to pull off is, indeed, super attractive.

Since the primary method of employing Domain for battle lies in Domain Weapons. Which means being able to have those kinds of super specialized and super conditional benefits as passives will inherently fuck over enemies that rely on said super specialized and super conditional attacks to fuck over conventional defenses.

Meaning that normal defensive measures will be mostly sufficient for those operating in a team with Ling Qi.

And is it that bad, that we get additional if small bonus to Ph. Cultivation? And we still need to start training our Stamina somewhen.

The Grove triggers whenever an Art is trained at the site, so long as the Art has an appropriate Attribute Keyword.

The Art in question is TRF, which has Stamina as a Keyword. As such, the Grove triggers without training the attribute when we are training TRF at the site.

Note that the blurb doesn't require the 'physical attribute' in question to be trained.

Heh, it seems you are right. Thanks.

Also, why we aren't training Dexterity, our must need №1 Attribute?

[X]Plan: Moon and Snakes
[X] Skill plan: Renxiang needs Help!

Well....I guess I should count it as a good thing we're taking in CDE.

Also noticed Yu Jiu's name isn't there at all in the ranking. She's forever forgotten

We are quite a few ranks behind CRX and the rest.

Xuan Shi apparently schooled everyone?

In any case, I think they might slow down a bit as cultivation levels get increasingly steeper to raise, I think everyone in the 770s is Green 2/Brinze 2.

[X]Plan: Moon and Snakes

seems good. Would have liked a dual but exploration is probably more important at this stage.

[X] Skill plan: Renxiang needs Help!

She does need help

Duals are handled in the background now until we are making a big jump! It'll help streamline the narrative and keep focus on keeping the plot moving forward.

Here's the quote.

AN: We will be eliminating challenge research as a basic action, minor challenges will be background events, while larger jumps will be kept in the narrative, I do need to actually work on pacing and get the main plot threads churning after all.
