Reading through the discussion, I'm getting the impression that a number of people think the first option doesn't involve the concept of "home" at all. I disagree. When it comes to Ling Qi's Domain, I think, a home doesn't have to be a physical location, it can also be those you care about.

These two choices, I think, are then about further narrowing down what the point of a home is for Ling Qi. For the first one, home is a motivation for dong things, it is who and what you go through hardship for. For the second, home is about rest and comfort, where (and who) you go to for a bit of relaxation between difficult tasks.

Considering we're going to have a Tribulation with Zequing soon, knowing this is important for the current vote.


I agree with slotting FVM, but out of FSS/SCS/TRF (CDE is meh for slotting) i think we should go for:
TRF (home's inside or at least the protective walls)
or maybe SCS (home's protection)

An other art we really should consider for slotting is Imperturbable Manor's Hearth. Hopefully for the Green 4 insight quota.

The tutorial will be coming up soon depending on certain choices. Advanced insights build off the ones you have tho so dont worry about 'wasting' slots that could go to advanced ones

Basically Ends justify means. You can work alone, you can do terrible things, but as long as you get something nice for your loved ones, its all worth it.

This is Darkness-focused naturally due to its emphasis on what you want and on solitude, but it has a nice touch of Music as well.

Basically protect your home at all costs. This is the FVM some players have been envisioning as a protective mist around our home.

This is more of Water focused, its the one who'd get home no matter how far, or how hard. Its like the Odyssey.

Self evident. Rejects the idea that the path MUST be hard.

[][FSS] The end comes for all things, without exception. In accepting this, you are freed.

If death is inevitable, there is no reason to struggle against it, no reason to suffer. A very buddhist-like ideal.
-Home - The home WILL end some day, enjoy it while it lasts.
-Argent Mirror - No conflict. Death coes to all, this is just basic fact.
Very Ending focused.

-Home - If it falls, it can rise again. As long as you still live, hope remains.

Hoarfrost Refrain: C
Duration: Immediate

The user's song rises into the howl of of a blizzard in the depths of winter as they focus the expression of their will upon a single enemy. Mastery of the art shows that the second and third techniques of the Serenade are one whole. The song tears and freezes the flesh of the singers enemy, and spreads through their blood and meridians, carrying the chill deeper still, like a frigid poison seeking the heart of its victims warmth. The chill clings long after the technique ends, the insidious cold crawling ever closer to the victim's heart until at last it stills or the technique is dispelled.

The mere echoes of the Refrain lash all foes within Close range, though the damage is reduced by one rank, draining away qi and slowing flesh and spirit alike, though the echoes lack the persistent damage of the which the main target suffers.

Hoarfross Refrain now persists until dispelled (or death). However, Ling Qi is now grinding her Resist.

Resist - (Resolve C + tech rank) Unqualified Bonuses: SES 15?, Equip (anchor) 5
Qualified Bonuses: +5 on darkness arts (Way), +15 on Water and Darkness (FVM), +5 on Music Arts (flute)

Resist: Resolve C + Hoarfross Refrain C= C + SES 15 + Equip (Anchor, Flute) 10 + Darkness Art 20 = C45= B15 Resist.

Basically, even enemies with some significant dispel abilities will have issues dispelling HR. Those for which it's a minor focus? They are screwed and it's a Mark of Death.

Would Sixiang be able to dispel a similar level art on Qi Ling with Chaos Phase?

Ends justify the means, is a bit of a weird take on it for me. Lessons we get are based on what the character takes from the arts. So that would mean that LQ is a Ends justify the means person? I really cant see that.
 
Wow, both FVM options are really appealing for me. It's a bit hard to choose. 1st option seem to focus on "beauty". In other words, that something good will be brought out to those one cares about after all the trials & tribulations one faced. 2nd option is focused more on returning home. It kinda seems to have a more clear and focused goal in mind, thus it makes it seem more appealing to choose for our Home Domain. Both of these options emphasises on the themes of Perseverance; a keyword I want Ling Qi to have. as for which one I'll pick.

2nd one, while it seems more focused and brings a message that it will all be worth it at the end, it seems callous to journey and process, more focused towards the end. Meanwhile 1st one explicitly states that the journey has worth in bringing beauty to those you care about. Want Ling Qi to be like that.

As for FSS, while it seems like 2nd one is more appealing than the 1st, the latter is about letting go of the fear of the coming end, really reminiscent to the musical duel between Ling Qi and Yu Nuan, thus it really is appealing to have especially if you mix it in tandem with the either options of FVM; in order to get what you want, one must get past one's inhibition in order to succeed. It's really emphasises on the themes of the End, how there's beauty in Endings. With that said,

The themes of seasons really appeals to me. One journey ends, another begins. Instead of letting go of one's fears, there's reassurance and hope in a bleak outcome that it will turn our alright.

I can be swayed to vote for the first option of FSS, though only if the majority vote sways to the other side. I await for such an upset.


Now for the discussions of Domain themes. About the hard limit of inserting insights into Domain, I don't recall where it was, but I think yrsillar said that we don't have to worry about that one right now. I don' think there's a hard limit in it at the moment (don't take my word for it though)

As an advocator of Moon arts, I want SCS and PLR in the Domain, maybe CDE if it offers good insight. TRF...is optional, it's been with us for a while and really saved our butts when Sun Liling ambushed us. That said, do we really want this as an insight. I don't completely mind inserting it as it is a group art that has the themes of Vitality. Conflicts isn't with the Home Domain, rather with other arts. It's also a competition between TRF and the upcoming HDW. As someone who wants Music, might lean towards HDW but have yet to see how good it is so...it's up in the air.

Even that much brightened the younger spirit up, and for a moment, it looked as if she was going to rush forward to hug her Mother, but Ling Qi saw her look up and hesitate. "...Can I consider this months lessons complete, teacher?" Ling Qi said, breaking the uncomfortable silence.

......I was planning to hold off on Zeqing SL, but this event.....goddammit yrsillar. :cry:
