Mmmh. Seems Resist/Resilience/War and Maybe Summons are leading.

I'm going to push against wood. Hard. There's no point. As far as elements go, moon is just better for us. In cultivation, in theme, you name it. And it's not like we need more elements!

[X] Moon
[X] Darkness
[X] Music

I didn't notice that music is dropping down, and I'm concerned about that. I think we should be looking for musical arts by default. It's our best skill, it's going to remain our best skill, and anything that can take advantage of that is going to be more powerful than a better art that uses a different skill.

Moon is better for qi regen and overall defense? Where did you get this information?
Sixiang has explicitly said that PLR will be good for defense. I also wouldn't bet against Mother Moon having good arts for defending allies, or the PLR illusion swarm helping them too. It's not moon, but darkness, which we're not getting rid of, is quite good for qi recovery too; just look at FSS.

Don't underestimate the flexibility of elements, or think they can't be substituted. Sure, you wouldn't pick a mountain art for dodging, or a wind art for armor (and yet Argent Storm exists :p), but both can be good for physical defense.

Fire is theoretically better for offense than water or darkness. But we're killing things with ice and really happy with it. Xiulan's arts are no doubt better for blasting, but she can't just eat a squad of yellows. Don't think "this is an offensive art, so the only thing that matters is damage, so we need the best damage element". You'll miss out on the bonuses other elements bring to bear. Now apply that thought towards defense.

Also I don't think we're turning Zhengui into a moon turtle in a hurry.
If only we had another spirit with better fitting elements. :(
For defense moon isn't exactly the best element. That palm goes to earth and Wood.

We also have very significant wood bonus especilly as all our spirits are wood aspected.
Meizhen the BaiTank's Abyssal Mantle was water/darkness. Not wood, not metal, not earth. Elements don't matter as much as people seem to think. And armor is only one of two substitutable forms of defense. If you think wood/earth are good dodging elements...

Re: Bonuses: We have one of two spirits, a breakthrough cultivation bonus, a cultivation art, and a better site for moon. If we find a good wood art, nice! Beats any of metal/mountain/lake/earth/heaven/thunder/etc. But we're finally moving to a coherent darkness/moon/water build, so I don't think we should search it out when we have elements with better bonuses anyway.

In this argument you just said that some elements are better than others for different things, which the same argument that I made. We have quite a few bonuses to leveling up wood arts fast thanks to Zhengui and a solid wood art. Why wouldn't we continue that path?

We shouldn't even have to vote for music tbh. It should just be assumed that we're always interested in music options.

Oh god no not water.

Like, look, it's fine as a secondary element that's occasionally used to flavor our real elements, like FVM, but beyond that? No. Blergh.

If we wanted a water build we should have gone Bai route.

We went Emerald Seas though. That's tree route. :p

First of all, yes Ling Qi should be looking for musical arts by default. This is an argument for why it is unnecessary for us to specify it in our votes. It'll happen anyway. There was a musical art in our options last time, and I'm pretty sure Music wasn't one of the top 5 keywords.

Second, our Music skill does not actually aid us defensively. With the way derived attributes are calculated, Ling Qi's excellent Music skill simply doesn't factor because there are already other, different, skills that do. To wit, Resilience, Dodge, Fade, and Fortitude. Music doesn't replace any of those and it's not going to with archive arts. Hell, I'm 99% sure it doesn't help with the Resist of our Music arts. Which makes absolutely no sense, but that's the way of the system. Ling Qi is good at music, but arguing that everything she does should be music is arguing that she should only be good at Music.

You are saying that at the same times elements inclination don't matter and wood/earth are bad for dodging. Pick one side as debating both at the same times will make me look a tad too much unhinged for my tastes.

Agreed, but until Zeqing stops handing out arts we're keeping it. No point ignoring that.

I'm saying that A) elements aren't as big a deal as people are implying B) to the extent element matters, wood/earth are bad for dodging. This really isn't contradictory.
