That's not something we knew about in history, all we knew is that their Sublime Ancestor fucked off and a little ways afterwards, they all up and vanished as one. You'd figure that the Weilu literally writing their own death warrant by forsaking a covenant with one of the Biggest of the Great Spirits openly enough to change their colors would be a point of historical note, huh?
