We've been neglecting her lately and I worry about her since of all the people who made it into the inner sect she's the one who struggled the most.
Trying to go for both would be a really bad Idea as I cannot see them getting along since Xuan Shi is of fairly low standing while also having trust issues and Xiulan is aggressive and obviously Noble.
 
It's a bit weird that every time we talk to Xuan Shi we want his help with something. He even pointed it out himself, in his roundabout way. I don't really feel that's the right way to do it.

Hmm, for this, does anyone recall what the estimate was for how much this would actually go for, if there was one? Wondering how many resource actions it would be equivalent of, or rather how long it could keep us going for to help speed our cultivation up.

We should definitely put some effort into being useful to him in the course of our mission to make connections and gain intel. He has the potential to be a good long-term ally and I'm certain he's still interested in observing Zhengui's growth.

I mean a hand mirror is kinda neat, but it lacks the feel-good of the good stuff.

... i think the ship has sailed for interaction with Xiulan right now. Trying to force it by bringing a borderline unknown isn't going to work.
It's either one or the other, if we want to have any significant interaction with them.
Moreover, at the core of the interaction is going to be Zhengui. So if we want to get any significant interaction with the invited person, they need to have some link to Zhengui.
Xiulan, while our friend, just isn't anywhere close to Precious...

Like I am a bit worried about if Xiulan is actually in trouble or not. Last few times we assumed that our friends where fine and they where off doing stuff or safe we ended up with them getting their eye gouged out, mutilating themselves or almost killing themselves.

Would be nice if she actually sent a letter or something telling LQ she is breaking through, she did complain when LQ when into her drug fuelled things.

I am worried too, but this isn't the right occasion for it. Can you imagine trying to have Xiulan talk about her scar issues in front of an unknown duke house member ?

If we want to have her open up we need to go to her, alone, in her territory where she feels the safest. Maybe even give her some forewarning of our coming too.

I do want to see Gu Xiulan, but I feel that inviting her to help Zhengui break into green will just flame the passions of jealousy even more. I would rather talk to Xuan Shi even if we only used to go to him for help. Hopefully, this will be the bridge that we need to get more involved with him.

Well... I agree the socializing game would be a lot easier is said people stopped being lazy, and started getting off their ass to came to us from time to time. :mad:
We usually go out for... what, 4 ? 5 ? social actions per turn ?
When was last time we had 5 different people come to us to spend time with ? or even just to ask for our expertise.

Xuan Shi is an expert in two headed turtles. Also really likes them. May as well ask him for help in this.

Yeah I would agree with that. Ling Qi is weirdly nosy and socially proactive for someone we characterize as unsociable. If anyone showed regular interest in us we would probably quickly become friends.
