For me its more about prep work. We're getting quite close to evolving, and learning the second healing spell will take some time, so I'd like to get it learned before we evolve. Our first healing spell is unlikely to be able to do much to us after we evolve.

We're not going to need to heal ourselves right after Evolving.

We might need to catch someone running away from the murder train though.

Verge starts wondering who this "Pain Train" is that he's hearing a lot of mon talk about lately. Some kind of Locomon that went rogue and managed to mimic GrandLocomon's trick of not needing tracks? Never realizing that they're talking about him.

Also anyone else worried how Verge is going to take it when he figures out he is someone else's Count?
Probably not well, especially since the major issue was that the Gobbos were trying to mine the resources there and drive the villagers away, but they didn't actually attack the village. That was all Gramps poking the bear.

Something to consider here is the potential short term. Right now Verge's current healing spell works fine for him and there's no telling when he'll digivolve. It may be like some are suggesting and be right quick, but there's no way to know that for sure.

'soon' is relative in the context I'm thinking of.

'soon' from my perspective means "decent chance of happening before we have enough time to learn two more spells". And that's simply because I don't think the explosiveness will wait much longer than that.

I'm guessing either near the end of this mission or sometime during the next mission.

I think that the explosiveness may not be building as fast as you guys think. The main reason it happened here was due to a major wound disrupting Verge's data, and even then it took some time to happen. Healing is useful, I will agree, but I still think that we should up our combat portfolio first. Plus when Verge does digivolve, it'll heal whatever damage he took in that instance anyway. We've also got Pit close at hand for the forseeable future.

On the flip side, its also good to have an option for if Pidmon is too injured to heal other people up. Unless someone in the group secretly keeps a healing disk for that.

A situation in which Pidmon can't heal someone up also seems like the kind of thing that would lead Verge to the needed extreme emotion. A friend is about to die.

You know, I just had a realization. If Verge becomes a Gryzmon, then learns to devolve, he'll become a living "Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass" trope, solely because everyone likely thinks that he's a particularly weak champion of an already weak species that's on Scratch's squad for pure utility purposes. So imagine the stares when Verge shows up evolved and probably nearly on par with MasterTyranomon when standing up.

Part of me thinks that our evolution will come the next time we encounter Count and/or Repulsa.

Someone who is capable of fighting our entire party and coming out on top, would cause Verge to feel extreme emotions, and would beat us within an inch of our life without actually killing us (because they want to capture us).

Then, they would be forced to retreat because the addition of a second opponent with (low end) Ultimate tier stats makes them less confident of victory.

Put my bonus point into Spirit.

[X] The more powerful healing spell: 0/16

I wonder if next time run into Count or Repulsa if we will encounter one of our kidnapped family members too (being forced to work/fight, or potentially actually converted).

While I can applaud people for foresight, I would like to point out that we've been managing to get spells down in only a few days. I'll make an agreement with anyone willing to flip their vote, that if we learn Agility Burst now, I will whole-heartedly support the more powerful heal spell at our next opportunity.
