Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

[X] You are going to play along. Steal your fan back when you get an opportunity and replace it with an even worse fan
[X] After you do that you are going to tell him that that fan is not a toy but a gift from your mother and if he wished a friend he just needs to ask
@Vesvius can this do
The 'want a friend' part makes me cringe. So that's a no.
[X] Inform Uzumaki that the fan he just stole is a prized possession, given to you by your Mother, and that he, of all people, should understand how precious that makes it to you.

This works?
Doable. Accepted.
[] You are going to play along. Steal your fan back when you get an opportunity and replace it with one of his own paint/glitter bombs. Pass it off as Naruto being caught by one of his own traps misfiring.

@Vesvius how's this?
That would work. Accepted.

[jk]Replace his orange jumpsuits with a set of Gai's YOUTH suits
we do have a direct line to gai...
but really:
[X] You are going to beat him until he gives you your fan back.
Shonen punch the stupid outta him while lecturing him on his need for attention even if its bad

People are getting way too into beating this orphan child.

Oh no, it's almost like we're trying to think about this as an IC decision, and not put Protagonist Blinders on just because we're dealing with Naruto.

All we know about him IC is he's a little piece of shit who doesn't bother trying, harasses one of our friends near daily, and stole one of our most prized possessions for no damn reason. If he was Nameless Bully #3 would you still be trying to play his games?

Honestly, I half expect the 'Beat Him' option to have us inadvertently break our own fan while fighting him-- but I still think it's more IC than playing along with him.

Guys. Taijutsu may be our thing, but we're not a mere bully. Beating up Naruto because he acts out is beneath us. Hell, he'd probably take it as acknowledgement and even encouragement to keep bugging us. No, if we wanted to retaliate, we'd have to do so verbally, and that... wouldn't end well.

Similarly, while I see the OOC reasoning for simply stealing it back, I really don't see Daisuke doing that. Thus far, he's by and large been a momma's boy, so I really don't see him calmly planning to steal it back later, rather than taking it now.

Hence, my write-in where we ask/guilt Naruto into giving it back, with minimal interaction.

Not even voting IC.

I just wanna kick the MCs ass.

I feel like this option is more IC than just beating Naruto's ass. Daisuke doesn't seem like someone who'd let a slight against himself go unpunished, but I also never really saw him as someone who would be willing to dirty his hands and resort to violence at the drop of a hat either. I have issues with just playing along as written, because as other users have commented, it trivializes the possession and makes Naruto's action feel like a game without consequence. So the retribution needs to be more pointed than a crappier fake fan that Naruto doesn't care about, without crossing the line into outright decking him in the schnoz.

He just stole a precious gift from Mom. That isn't something you just stay calm with, and turning an act like that into a game is just not how someone would react under these conditions. This is something anyone would be enraged by, and by ignoring it and turning it into a game we are encouraging this behavior.

It is wrong, what he did was wrong. That requires punishment, there is nothing funny about it.

Devil's advocate, Daisuke has been shown to be very prideful. Do you see him begging for Naruto to give him his own property back?

We will hurt something of his, his precious orange jumpsuit!!!

Has beating Naruto up ever resulted in him doing anything except for doubling down? I feel like losing our cool and resorting directly to violence is a great way to give Naruto exactly what he wants, namely attention, and will only result in more pranks.
