That's nonsense. If the nations of the world want us truly dead, our nuke isn't going to stop them. As good as the DD are, they can't fight off an army that wants them dead, they'd lose just from sheer numbers and overwhelming firepower. And if we try and use the nuke, it would just prove to people that we deserve to be taken out.
Sure enough, we can't stand up to an army. The idea is of the nuke is that no army will attack us in the first place. Is this not the reason why we built it in the first place?
Well, we should keep and developing the vocal chord parasites more then. It is a tool like nuke too.
I would unironically agree to this, except of course there's a variety of issues with vocal chord parasites that make such an approach extremely bad, such as:
- we'd probably need to test them on people like the original creators did, which isn't ethically acceptable to me
- we probably don't have the facilities and specialists in the first place, and I doubt we'll acquire any
- killing everyone who speaks a certain language is exceedingly unlikely to ever be something we want to do. Whereas a nuke is just significantly unlikely, but it's more about "better to have it and not need it" - besides, just telling people about it might be useful, and they'll believe us after all the other BS we demonstrate having.
- and, of course, all the characters have had extremely negative experiences with the parasites, so they'd never support it. Whereas they have supported having a nuke, seeing as we have it right now.
The point is that Venom Snake through disarming his nuke simply because it is the right thing to do will inspire others to demand the same of their government, and if people start talking with other people from other nations with similar desires to do away with MAD a movement that exists above physical borders might form.
So people across the globe would cooperate to convince everyone that nukes are no longer needed as people are now to enlightened to wage global wars on each other, am I getting that right? That... doesn't sound to me like something that would ever work out, but I suppose it's very utopian.

I have a running wishlist of the the various things I want to do when we get to VC universe. Feel free to add to the list if we are missing anything.

-Kick the Imperial Army's Butt in combat
-Humiliate Selvaria Bles
-Humiliate Maximilian
-Futon Selvaria Bles
-Futon Maximilian
-Adopt imoutos
-Adopt catgirls
-Destroy Imperial Army's Logistics via convert action
-Make Big Boss the One-Eyed Phantom again
-Start Millers Maxi Buns fast food franchise
-Destroy Imperial Army's Morale via convert action

That's not how nuclear deterrence work. Having one nuke makes you a threat. But you need enough to wipe out your enemy to be too dangerous to attack. If the US only had one nuke in the cold war, we'd probably all be speaking Russian. It's why both sides built up so ludicrously massive stockpiles during the Cold War, and why the START treaties were such a big step forward for peace.

You might want to add set up Outer Heaven as an AAA Megacorp.

Honestly the Conservative Action isn't bad. The animals might not exist in Valk World, so it would give our soldiers something familiar to hold on to, and we could probably sell tours there!

To Be A Child....or a Snake

Have another CP~. Unfortunately whether this further antagonizes Eli or makes him see more along the lines of what Ahab is trying to accomplish...

Well, that'll be answered in the future depending on the path you take

OMAKE: A Better Life...of sorts.

Not really sure what to give here. I'll say it gets Ocelot started on a trait where he deals with Child Soldiers better.

While cracky goodness, it's a little short for a reward.

One or two more omakes that I need to find in thread I believe.

I'm going to start sounding like a broken record, but I'm still going to say it anyway.

Air. Every. Single. Gods. Damned. Dirty. Laundry. That the Federation and the Empire has.

I feel i should point out that this is more than a little hypocritical, given we're not exactly saints ourselves and have done some pretty skeevy things.

Also speaking purely from the pragmatic mercenary side of things, but the best IMO would be for us to be in a position to take contracts from everyone. Recall that MSF got its big start with KGB money, recall that Diamond Dogs were taking CIA and KGB contracts in Afghanistan at the same time. Rather than burning bridges from the start and setting the whole world against us, we play each side against the other, milk them for what funds we can use, and use them to stabilise and establish ourself as a player in the great game.

Make inroads with both the Federation and the Empire, and then use the information we learn to our own ends. Like, say, quietly hitting Valkyria research centers and liberating & recruiting the test subjects.

I am the shadow and the smoke in your eyes
I am the ghost that hides in the night

I'm ambivalent about denuclearisation, because y'know, we're jacking the world's nukes to disarm (or keep safe), which means we'll have a stockpile of nukes on Mother Base which means more things to go wrong.

...on the other hand, I saw the Denuclearisation cutscene this weekend while returning to MGSV. And I do admit it was inspirational.

There's a thought that there's no point spending that effort for something that won't pay off for us to see it. On the other hand, there's a thought that it's inspirational in its own right for us to leave the world in a better state even if we're not around to see it.

Hmmmm.

If our focus is on denuclearisation and countering the proliferation of nuclear weapons, if we are working to prevent the proliferation of Parasites, then when we reach the new world, logically, our anti-proliferation stance towards WMD should therefore apply to Valkyria as well. Which means that we need to recover all Valkyria we encounter, that one of our new longterm stances is going to be working against Valkyria proliferation, whether natural or artificial.

...

This means that we'd be recruiting and rescuing every Valkyria we could find, wouldn't it?

Ok, I can live with that.

Are you sure attempting to hold hundreds or thousands of superpowered women, many against their will as they have better places to be, is going to be a viable idea?

No, I don't think so.

I'm just pointing out a logical extreme of the denuclearisation policy. :V

ok so I only just got a chance to read this whole thing and it was either shitpost a little or headdesk at questers doing quester things
