The best scenario I have for fighting right now (and having this go well is implausible as hell) is the following:
1) Grab the sword
2) Run up the stairs
3) Tokei catches up when we're half or a quarter way up the stairs
4) Once he's directly behind us on the stairs launch ourselves backwards stabbing him somewhere in the chest or stomach area hopefully wounding him badly
5) Immediately throw ourselves to the side off the stairs
6) Run for help

See I don't see that happening really I think this might be the tragic moment in a ninjas life where his mother dies and he sees his nindo wasnt strong enough, our it's the moment where we die even younger then last time.

Lure him outside, where there is more space, and try to be loud and boisterous to attract surrounding ninja. Engage in evasive maneuvers.
Ok we can't beat him. Were 5 and he's a trained samurai, This isn't about beating him, this is about getting time. I don't want any option were we aren't protecting our mom, that runs counter to everything our character is about.

Oh man oh boy I want this to win so our character can cringe at what he said as he's ran through
I honestly do not see running into the open as improving our survival chances.
Tokei is far faster than us, he will catch us and kill us in seconds.
The only advantage I see is our small size, and smaller rooms upstairs with furniture should let us leverage that.

Ok, right now we're close to the door and next to his blade and can run outside without him stopping us. If we do that, he'll be expecting us to be fleeing not fighting, so he'll rush outside intent on chasing us and won't be ready for the surprise attack. This will let us get a cheap shot in to debilitate him which should let us leverage the fight a bit better.

See if you think he can catch us in a second then there's no hope of us making it up the stairs.

Like in ten to twenty. You can get 100 meters in 20 seconds.
We are also small and thus have far less momentum to overcome, we are more maneuvarable.
Advantages inside, irrelevant in the open. Inside, he will have to work to catch us.

Really I don't see any future in which we live if we stay in the house, we are so outmatched and we're dead tired, we need to hope either for a miracle like us unlocking our chakra and idk kicking him into space or we need to find an adult.

The major theme is our desire to protect, running away runs counter to that (no pun intended). We have to protect mom, and do it in a intelligent manner. As intelligent as fighting a trained Samurai can be that is.

Well, you see, I do not see us living longer than 20 seconds if we go outside.

Ok so mom distracts him and we get a lucky stab on him I still don't see us surviving the aftermath. Maybe if he was a regular dude but he's a trained killer.
