Game of the Year: A Naruto Quest

[X] Yes. Becoming a Shinobi of Konoha?! That's the whole reason you're here! Of course!

TEACH US GUY SENSEIIIIII

...in all honesty tho this is really good, and not just because Guy is one of my favorite characters. He's strong as all hell. I mean he managed to make Madara fucking Uchiha fear for his life, when he was the goddamn Ten-Tails Jinchuriki.

If you want to be unique, I'm sure there are better ways than becoming a stereotypical member of Daisuke's country of birth!

There are very few elemental ninjutsu specialists on the Konoha 11, and no Water or Earth specialists. Similarly, there are no genjutsu specialists (Hinata supposedly knows 'em, but doesn't really use 'em much).

There are a bunch of other, more useful things we can spec in to be unique and useful. Shroud our mighty fist in illusions, make the lands quake or whatnot.
It's more of a case of me wanting the background that we have chosen to be reflected in how our character is developed.

Convincing and making a good impression. Bluff, Manipulation and Perform do just that while giving us a lot more utility in our future ninja career.
Well, first of all I'm not convinced by the premise. So far in the story the perform skill has only been presented as a skill related to putting on performances, such as singing. There is nothing to suggest that it would be used for interactions with other people. Bluff is most likely the skill involved in deceiving people. Manipulation would likely be more akin to convincing people without them knowing rather than engaging them honestly. None of these skills is just about getting people to like you as a person. And even if those three skills could cover everything diplomacy can, it would mean that we would have to spend resources on raising two skills (as perform is already at practiced) to avoid raising one that is already has more XP in it.

We can become a kenjutsu master to honor our origin but we must also move towards the future and we do that by becoming a shinobi.

Imagawa Toishi (Father): None

Found the above under the relations tab. Does anyone know who this is? Or am I late to the party?

Just found this quest and looks good so far. Though if I was here from the beginning I would have gone for the rural village and creating a new ninja village...

Also can I just say I love the "Game of the Year" type stories far more then the "gamer" type stories... I mean they are so radically different that it's crazy. Heck considering that "the gamer" runs on a system even the author of the manhwa doesn't understand it's no surprise that stories based on it also usually have nonsensical statistics and leveling systems...

The guy that Tokei serves (and whom I believe is the Iron Daimyo). He came to visit after the Kyūbi incident.

Something I found a while back (but forgot to bring up) that's related...
Your guard takes the opportunity to change the subject. "So, is there news from home?"

"Nothing pressing," the older woman answers. "Lady Imagawa is attempting to settle the court after the unpleasantness of last year. The rumors and gossip have been beyond imagination but she's finally grasping the reins. But I do bring word from your sister."
There is a Lady Imagawa. Now as I am a proponent of our mother being the mistress of our father, I would guess that Lady Imagawa would be his wife. However, I admit there is the possibility that she could be one of his blood-related family members.

I think our father is the Iron Daimyo, and Lady Imagawa is his wife. This was part of Lady Yamanaka's and Tokei's conversation

"Yes, the Iron Damiyo's… nephew. He caused quite a stir when he was born from what I hear. You can see a little bit of the man in his chin and eyes, but he looks more like his mother from what I can tell."

Mrs. Yamanaka lets out a cluck of her tongue. "Maybe I should get him away from little Ino then? I've seen portraits of Satomura Manami. If she's even half as beautiful as the artists say then he should be a little heartbreaker!"

Satomura Manami is our mother, and my best guess is that she is an important noble in the Land of Iron and our father's mistress. She was famous enough to be gossiped about and painted by numerous artists, and that kind of fame probably doesn't come by just being the Iron Daimyo's mistress.

If she were a noble in the Land of Iron and the Iron Daimyo is in love with her, then theoretically it should be easy for them to marry. My two best guesses as to why they could not marry are 1) He was already married, or 2) There are political issues if they married. I'm personally leaning towards 2 since it explains why Daisuke was hidden in Konoha and why everyone is told he is the Iron Daimyo's nephew instead of son.

[X] No. Being a ninja means your life is not your own anymore- and you have other things you want to do than spy for your country.

There is a reason we are in Konoha and not in the Land of Iron, most likely because it would be troublesome for us to be there. Best to make our own life in Konoha now. At this point in time we have spent more time in Konoha than the land of our birth anyways, so it can be said that Konoha is more of a home to us than the Land of Iron. Also, I can't say no to Guy. When one of the current top 5 ninja in the village says he believes you have potential and he will give you a little tutoring on the side, then you say yes and thank you.

-[X] "I am sorry, but my first loyalty must always be to my family. So I must decline. Is there any reason we can't be friends though?"
